The Viper's Successor Page 12

“Mr. Navan, you’re about to enter the force field. Your connections with me and your teammates will be disrupted now. Sneak the droids to get into server room first and deactivate first then the connection will be reinstated.” Nutaku guided Navan via Nano communicators and in a couple of minutes the connections including the navigation on visor went offline. Beforehand he identified floor 114 and landed on the fibre glass shields activating his ‘scroll mode’ of BALA, which allowed him to stick vertically on the glass. Disposing his visor and wingsuit compressed and shoved in his backpack, Navan started cutting those fibre glasses. Sneaking into the floor, he rushed towards the server room, located 72 steps away. Before that, security cams were taken care of . Averting the droids at the doorways by creating a disguise alarm, he finally gained access in the server room. His limbs automatically activated the noise cancellation options, so slithering tiptoes he moved forward. Inside the server room there were two droids continuously inspecting, so to avoid them, Navan dodged the doorway and reached the main operating system.

“Alright then, here we go.” Navan inserted the chipset in the mainframe and switched the command mode of droids to user interactive. A churring sound indicated the red blinking lights of the KO3 droids turned into green and proximity alert got disrupted.

“Sam, do you copy? Armun what’s your position?” Navan found his communicator online again as the disruption of alert temporarily deactivates the jamming force field.

“Good to have you back online sir, I’m about to reach the main hall in minutes.” Sam, disguised as guest, headed towards backdoor entry.

“Covering the exits in stealth mode, as per our plan!” Armun directed the forces. The task forces snooped and hemmed the gateways and exits in stealth mode. Navan up at 114th floor, decked on his tuxedo for the backpack and putted on directional indicator glasses. Slicked his ruffled hair at back he walked towards the elevator moving vehemently in front of KO3 droids.

“Sam show me the way to hallway. Have you reached?” Navan was a bit anxious about the inside activities of the event. Guests have coalesced over the terrarium hall with a built-in waterfall and butterfly garden the ambience permeating was pleasing and full of fragrances. Navan was inside the elevator waiting to reach the floor. “Don’t panic. Just blend in.”

“Mr. Navan I cannot locate Mr. Akatomi on the dais. I’m continuing the search.” Sam was perturbed about Mr. Akatomi’s absence at the hall. Navan reached there via elevator. taking up a peg of drink in his hand, he kept a couple of distance from the dais.

“Sam, scan the other floor and perimeters and gimme updates. Any other heat signature can you observe apart from guards?” Navan murmured in soft voice.

“I’ve to take some cover to operate, Mr. Navan otherwise I’ll get exposed.” Sam moved at a distance, probably to fetch connection surreptitiously. Armun and his team positioned at a distance out of force fields from exit points, keeping an eye on the guests still entering at OKAMI.

Yoi tsuitachi, ladies and gentlemen, to the grand occasion of AD5 launch, once again, paving the footsteps of Mr. Fulkan Kane. We had bemoaned for such a ghastly murder, the carrier of Adage industries after Mr. Donnovan Gilman, but the glint of light he bestows upon us by the breakthrough of AD5 vaccine, is unquestionable. Let us unite to ward of this distasteful Dermatoxia. Let us have a moments silence to show reparation to Mr.Fulkan Kane.

A holographic non-static imagery appeared on the dias, of Mr.Akatomi and addressed the guests and marketing managers. The crowd was a bit startled, to see such an execution of safety protocol by OKAMI. The moment of condolence wiped out the gossips and cross talks amidst the guests.

“Sir, it appears that the entire system’s rebooting! It was inadvertent for us, you need to stave off the droids coz they’ll be railing in seconds…Mr. Navan…. Mr…” Nutaku’s voice churred and turned down. Navan, wasting no time hurtled towards Sam keeping his face drooped down, after the moment of silence is over.

“Sir, you won’t believe what I just found! Oh god!” Sam again with his agitated enunciation showed the screen to Navan, “Mr. Akatomi is ensconced in a rampart made of pure steel at the 258th floor. surrounded by KO3 and machine gunners. We could probably first…”

“Get going Sam, don’t stand here. Bank left and take the elevator, I’m accompanying you. Droids have been activated and any moment they can scan the hall and other parts of the building.” Navan seized Sam’s arm and walked towards the elevator. Stepping inside, he sighed.

“Uffff…uffff…What shall we do now Mr. Navan?” Sam’s forehead was perspirating. “Now the signal’s also gone, we are incapacitated now! We cannot be stuck in the elevator for long!”

“Control your emotion and do what I say. Getting out of elevator will be absolutely a fools endeavour. We have to get out of the shaft. The moment there’s alert, try to get in a hideout and cover yourself. Here, take my gun and shoot the droids only in extreme situations. The elevator’s gonna stop in floor 257, so don’t panic.”

“Are you gonna kill Mr. Akatomi or what? He safeguarded and the droids will rain bullets to you in seconds!” Sam was flustered.

“It’d be a suicide if we go in there. Also, if they scan me, they’ll coalesce all droids at that floor.” Navan crouched and overrided the power supply of the elevator.

“Ohh dear!” Sam was frantic, with bumbling steps he was scampering within the elevator space. “How are we gonna move out, now that the exits also got blocked?”

Navan stretched his arm and opened the shaft. “Nothing we can do now instead of waiting for Samurai. I have premonitions that he’ll definitely show up today, even if there’s hindrance.”

“Seriously sir, the way you identified Lucy was totally enthralling! Just a moments mistake that day when they forgot to put forces after Fulkan was moved out.” Sam shoved his Tab into his backpack, and instead of putting it on his shoulder again, he dangled it on his arm.

Navan was thinking about protection of Mr. Akatomi, but unexpectedly, the connections, he was foraging all this time, were linked abruptly. With batting eyes, he replied to Sam “Hmm. One should deserve the sins of what they’ve committed.” His palms felt cold and couldn’t moved an inch. With an appalling gesture, he tried to control his emotion. A mirk holocaust smothered him, the smouldering smokes of forgery left him frenzy. After all this time! This has what his fate has intercalated in his life!

“Ya sir, its karma.” Sam’s face was half smeered with the dimmed Elevator light, running on backup. He was unimaginably stiff and staring straight at front.

Navan didn’t waste any more time and took out the other gun he had inside his tuxedo pocket. “Sam, wish I could kill you right now! Drop your backpack and surrender! This was what you up to, gain trust and vanquish them in seconds?” He yelled.

“Its too early, Mr. Navan, you could have waited for more till I demystify myself! I had other plans for this!” Sam with a demented smirk, stared at Navan, still holding his backpack.

“The Indian accent of Karma was too strident for my ears. And everyone except you didn’t called Ms. Lucy by her name. But why, Sam, why? What’s my father has to do with this, and these corporates? Don’t try to do anything stupid or else I have to shoot you!” Navan pointing the gun, took one step closer.

Sam opened his high-powered specs and threw it aside. His facial gestures and expressions were not like goofy and nerdy anymore. A pensive, clingy, full of riddance attitude flecked his face. “Kill me? What will you gain by killing me? Vindication? Salvation? Reparation of your tragic loss?”

“Shut the f**k up, Sam!” Navan bashed him with his elbows which made him toss at one corner inside the elevator. Tilting his body towards Navan he remained there, stooped his head down.

“Mr. Navan, what’s a god to a man, I’m asking you again. You can put bullets in my head in seconds and I won’t stop you from doing that. But tell me Mr. Navan, wasn’t your father a god-figure to you? For your idyllic life who can go to leaps
and bounds?”

“Don’t take my father’s name or I’ll throw you outta window right now! Destruction of my dad’s company and Bhavishya Group, attempted blast at Pavia, mercilessly murdering countless police officials, you vicious wretch! So, you’re the Viper’s successor trying to stop the distributions of Dermatoxia vaccine to take revenge on mankind! But why? What’s the ulterior motive you wanna satiate?”

“Hahahaha…Successor? You’re unbearably puerile and myopic Mr. Navan! And quite obvious, cz Dr. Victor Jayden didn’t boasted about his contributions to mankind and in return they made him to stride the path of Viper! Just look at the convergence of life’s extreme moments! One who shot Viper is standing in front of his son, as he thinks he’s taking revenge of his Baba’s death!”

Navan was appalled. “Son? So You’re the son of the fiendish Jade Viper, fulfilling his mission?”

“What’s there to hide? And I don’t blame you for killing him. He had seen his destiny, and accepted death as a true hero. If you, if the country knows about who Dr. Victor Jayden was, one couldn’t be so scurrilous about Viper!!!” Sam tried to kneel, but Navan pounced him again to the corner.

“My fellow troops and my mate were dead because of Viper!” Navan shrieked. “Before the air strike, our troops got themselves killed by Vipers men in his lair, including our lieutenant! Viper got out and I shot at his forehead…Twice!!!”

“Have you seen that Vipers men killed your troops with your own eyes? Travesty of media and press forced you people to believe in such waggish plots! I was present there, that day when your troops was conducting the mission! After I got letters from Baba, at his extreme time I came to meet him but to save him from getting encountered, Dada killed your troops and called the air strike. I had observed all from the bunker!”

“What are you talking about, who’s Dada?” Navan was getting disgruntled every moment. “my friend Adik entered into lair to kill Viper and to rescue the hostages! Instead he got killed by Viper and he called the strike! A couple of moments after that Viper got out from there!”

“ Have you seen that with your own eyes? And you don’t even know his full name and dare to call him your friend? Victor Aadik, my Dada, sacrificed his life to safeguard our Baba! Yes, I’m the brother of Victor Aadik, your best friend from army campaign! Told you no, I’ve seen god with my own eyes! They were no less than almighty to me, with utmost caress, nurture and cohesiveness.” Sam started laughing recklessly slanting at corner. “To spew terror and abomination upon mankind you think I’m doing this? These 6 corporate houses duped and wangled my Baba’s aspiration. Being a scientist, he had achieved a cure of that 2020 virus, but your Adage industries, thwarts him from that errand. By nature, he didn’t became an infidel, it’s the people, forced him to digress from his generosity!”

Navan felt like he couldn’t speak properly. His hands froze because of this abrupt truth, a gust of chill wave flows down his body. Without blinking, he stared at Sam with his abacked gesture. Sam took undue advantage of this moment and in a seconds uncertainty, he thrusts his left hand into the backpack; taking out a black metal with yellow cracks on it, Sam thumps it on his chest.

“Sam, Sam don’t, or I will have to shoot you!” Navan with his shuddering eyes saw the metal permeates Sam’s entire body and taking the shape of an armour. With shin guards, breastplates, bracelets and holsters, the metal ended up creating a Samurai Kabuto concealing Sam’s face.

“This Idium thing is so cool no? My Baba got his hands on this and he knew that it’ll be used for profitable ventures; not for serving the interest of researching. Breaking its genome, he made this metal a vessel. Compressed or rigid, anything can be sculpted, stored in its programming just by putting a bit of electric shock in it.” Sam aka Samurai showed a ripped wire of the elevator buttons, in his hand.

“BANG! BANG!” Navan without any hesitation started shooting at Sam. As expected, the bullets dodged and flung the impenetrable armour. Looking at him awhile, Sam said in an unexpected cold voice, “You’re wasting your bullets Mr. Navan. Save it to protect yourself from the droids!” Sam thwacked the metal doors three to four time, until it created a dent and made a void for passing through. “And, don’t expect that I’ll kill you, despite my Baba’s death is in your hands. Told you, you’re special for some reason.”

The floor was swarmed with droids, with their surveillance they were in action pervading the entire floor. By the very time Sam got out of the chasm of door, they pointed their laser miniguns to him.

“Identify yourself please…kneel on the ground!” at least 15 droids coalesced and warned with their robotic voice. Sam with his fists closed, stood still, flecked with laser pointers all over him. Judging the situation, he took out something from his holster. Activating it, it got turned into an ionized, gleaming Katana which he used to slash and skew police officers and forces that day on Foresthill bridge.

“Mr Navan, this is not a lightsabre…Hahahaha! Credit goes to Lucy, of course, a folding ionized Katana, this is!” Saying this, he rolled and jumped towards the droids and started slashing them one by one. The gun fires were diminutive to him, so the droids could not withstand his smooth kills.

Navan rushed and tried to stop him by incapacitating, as he knew mere bullets wont work on his puissant armour. But Sam with a dash of his elbow tossed him at a distance. “Just make this stop, Sam! You wont succeed this time, like you’ve killed thousands, you’ve killed Sidius and Lucy too!”

“Killed Lucy? You know after Aadik died, she was in a holocaust and was suffering from monomania? Nobody except me was there to succour her? I was desperate after Baba got killed and I made up my mind to murder the responsible for the same. But who would have known that he was no one but the son of CEO, Mr. Donnovan Gilman? Who carries a speciality no one knows? Eventually I realised, killing you won’t suffice my vindication, rather fulfilling what Viper started should do. Lucy took you out of house creating a diversion, and gave you a new reformed transformation, but deep down she didn’t want to live on this earthly world as her affection for Dada was immense and kept herself alienated. And Sidius you’re talking about? He tried to molest Lucy twice at her lab, do you have any idea About that?” Sam was respirating heavily.

Exposed to such ample and harsh truth, Navan was delusional. He took a jumpstart to sock and lam the Samurai, but Sam was enraged in having riddance; he just like an ignorant throws Navan out of his fight with Ko3 droids. “One bullet and you’ll get yourself killed. Don’t just come over here. I don’t want you to die Mr. Navan.” By the time Mr.Akatomi’s bodyguard and more droids stepped on floor 257, and started shooting both at Navan and Samurai. Navan took cover behind a metal partition as he was out of revolver bullets too and couldn’t withstand. But Samurai sprang towards them and imbrued the polished floors and walls with blood splatters. The bodyguards carried Uzi, recovering one from a mutilated arm, Navan started shooting at Ko3 droids.

“Sam, stop this! You will gain nothing by killing them! They are just following orders and taking responsibility!” He squealed at Sam.

“I pity those, who are esteemed slaves!” The wave of bodyguards and Ko3 droids were vanquished. Sam, from his blood bathed Kabuto, uttered in distress “Lucatrion was my last target but because of abrupt decision taken by OKAMI, I had no other way to destroy it first. Despite failing to plunder Cleocorp and EN TRASTE, the dissidents won’t survive!” Sam rushed towards hidden metal panic room. “Come out you scum!” He shouted.

Navan knew bullets wont put an impact. He dashed and biffed Sam again with his leg.

“AHA! Potential usage of your gifts! You are one of the fascinating transhuman of 21st century Mr. Navan. Didn’t that strike in your mind that in spite of gangrene and decomposed bone marrow at the lower abdomen, how you survived for three years?” Sam skewed his katana into the lock and melting it, entered. Machine guns installed at the ceiling started shooting at him, and slowly, Sam stepped near Mr. Akatomi, tripping on the shells. The clacki
ng and reverberating sound of shells on the ground made Akatomi nervous, hiding behind a table.

“Bango! I have not done anything, don’t kill me, please!” Mr. Akatomi stood up, holding a bazooka in his hand. “HIHIHIHI, have a blast!” He launched a sprocket aiming Sam. Navan from behind uplifted a debris of a broken pillar to biff him. Sam with a front flip grasped the sprocket mid air and yelped “Move! Navan!” and tossed it to glass windows. But digressing its course, it propels on ground averting Navan and blasts. Akatomi was apprehensive and tried to crouch but before that Sam threw his Katana to him which impaled his heart.

“NOOO!!!” Navan was distressed, stumbling upon the cracked floors and debris, he averted the fissures and sprinted to reach to Sam. He was about to lose balance, but his limbs controlled the staggering. Unexpectedly because of the sprocket a void created and he almost was falling in the trench , Sam caught his hands.

“Move out Navan! I’m gonna blow this place! Nobody can stop me now!” Sam took out the Katana from Mr.Akatomi and turned it off.

“I won’t let you do so, Sam! You’ve got your riddance by killing Akatomi, there’s nothing left now!” Navan in a bemoaned voice, requested Sam.

“No there isn’t! What about dispelling Dermatoxia? Inoculation of people by the vaccine created from the bloods of Gilman family?” Sam pressed his Kabuto and his face uncovers, letting the metal skitter and camouflage in his armour.

“Blood of Gil…our blood? What’s the connection of vaccine has with our blood? Navan spoke incredulously.

“Told you, you’re special Navan. Something unfathomable, unidentified component exists in your blood and well as your father’s too, purported to be not existed before. Baba got a sample of Mr. Donnovan’s blood and examining it he found there’s some mystical elements inside which if properly synthesized can be a cure to almost all diseases. From that he created the vaccine of 2020 pandemic. Later he mutated the cure and unleashed zombie apocalypse over the world.”
