Royce’s grin is wide as he slips the ring on my finger and stands up, pulling me against his body. Applause and cheers fill the room as someone hollers, “Kiss her!”
His lips are soft when they slide against my own as I wrap my arms around his neck. When he pulls back, I whisper, “Your sword is poking me in the stomach.”
He just smirks. “That’s because he wants to come out and play.”
I bark out a laugh and glance to the room full of students and their families. “I’m not sure this is the story they signed up for tonight.”
“No, probably not,” he replies, meeting my eyes with burning desire. “But do you know what?”
“What?”
“Both stories end the same.”
I draw my eyebrows upward. “They do?”
He smiles that panty-melting grin that makes my heart flutter and my undergarments useless. “They do.” He kisses me once more. “And they both live happily ever after.”
I giggle and place my cheek against his chest. “I can’t believe we’re getting married. And you didn’t even have to double dog dare me.”
“Not this time, but maybe later tonight. When we’re alone.”
“You’re on, Prince Charming.”
And they both lived happily ever after…
