"What are you waiting for?"
Preston smiled. He cupped Caleb's face and began getting closer to his lips. He was really close and their lips were almost touching when---when a loud scream was heard in the house.
At first Preston ignored it. He felt like it was all in his head and he continued going all the way.
Then it was heard again. This time louder and...fuck, Preston got scared. He had no idea what was going on. He tried to listen again and he heard it loud and clear.
"Help,"
He knew that voice and he knew something was definitely up.
Preston quickly jumped out of the bed. His heart was racing and his breaths became heavy. He glanced at Caleb and the boy had the same expression on his face. It was so clear that something was wrong.
"What's going on?"
"I don't know," Preston said worriedly. "I have no idea. But that voice...it is William."
Preston quickly took his pants and put them on. He took the ripped shirt and rubbed cum from his belly and he took the shirt from the floor and put it on. He didn't even bother to button it up and ran out of the room.
Caleb had no idea what was going on. What drama did William have now?
Caleb quickly got off the bed and he felt thick, hot cum coming out of his ass and down his legs. He quickly grabbed a towel and rubbed all cum that was on his body. He slipped on the boxers and skinny jean and rushed to the room to get a new shirt. Then he quickly got out of the room to see what was going on.
****
"Mom," Preston screamed.
Caleb froze once he entered that room. His heart began racing, his body got cold and he was filled with fear. What he saw in that room made him terrified. He couldn't believe his eyes when he saw it and his head was suddenly spinning.
Victoria was lying in Preston' arms and there was blood coming out of her mouth and nose. Caleb trembled when he saw the blood on the floor and her clothes too. What had just happened? Did his mother in law try to kill herself or what? The Janice he knew would never do such a thing so what was up with that?
Preston was in tears when he saw the state his mother was in. It was scary. She was still conscious but there was blood coming out of her nose and mouth. It looked she was gasping for air, convulsing and her eyes were slowly closing.
"Mom, please," Preston cried. "What happened to you?"
She was trying to move her mouth but it just shook. Preston was scared. He was really scared. He didn't want to lose her no matter what. He loved her a lot.
"What happened?" Preston yelled angrily throughout the whole room.
"I don't know," William cried. "I found her like that when I came to check up on her."
"What the fuck...."
"We don't have time for that," Caroline said, kneeling down in front of her sister, tears running down her cheeks. "We need to take her to the hospital, now. Johnny is not in the city."
"Yeah," William said impatiently. It was clear that the guy was panicking. "I'll call my doctor and we'll have there in just a few minutes."
"No," Preston yelled.
"Aunt Janice is like a mother to me," William yelled in Preston' face. "Besides, the hospital is quite near than others. It is run by the best doctor. I'll call him now and he'll have everything ready. Besides, Johnny is not here."
"William is right," Granny said. "We must rush her to the hospital or we could lose her."
Preston was in pain. Seeing his mother in that state was killing him inside. He didn't want her to die. He was ready to do anything just to make sure that she lived. He couldn't bear to lose any of his family members. It just wasn't possible.
Preston wrapped his arm on her body and the other on her legs. He carefully lifted her up firmly and began rushing out of the room with the rest of the family members following behind. She was heavy but to a man like Preston she was just of the right weight. He rushed down the stairs like it was nothing. He was barely outside and he was calling for the driver to bring the keys.
He put her in one of the cars and got ready to drive before William took the keys away from him.
"Stay with her," William said breathlessly, tears running down his face. "I'll drive to the hospital. The rest of the family members can follow behind our car."
Preston had nothing to say. It was his mother's life and she needed to be saved as soon as possible. He nodded and got inside, putting his mother's head on his lap. As he was about to close the door, Caleb came inside and he was looking scared.
"I'll ride with you." Caleb said as he took his mother in law's feet and put them on his lap.
Preston smiled at Caleb but that smile was not genuine. He was still worried. From the back he could hear William sobbing even as he started moving the car. That guy really loved his mother but he wished he'd just leave them the hell alone so that they could live their lives in peace.
As the car started moving, Preston noticed that his mother was not conscious anymore. She was lying lifeless in his arms and he was crying at the top of his voice. If ever anything happened to her he didn't know what he would do. She was a pain most of the times but she was still his mother and he loved her.
"Please, mom," Preston cried. "Please, hold on."
Caleb's eyes watered. That was what he feared the most, seeing his husband crying and hurting. He was still confused over what had happened but his heart was hurting for his husband. He was crying really badly and seeing him in that state made Caleb's eyes to water.
"She'll be fine," Caleb said, holding Preston' hand tightly.
Preston nodded and he yelled at William to drive as quickly as possible. He was yelling and the guy was complying without any questions. He drove quickly and Preston panicked the rest of the way. He was really crying and he felt like a part of his heart was with her.
The whole journey took just twenty minutes. It would have taken Preston more to reach the hospital he wanted to take her to. But he was glad William was at the house to direct them to the hospital.
The car had barely parked and the door flung open. Nurses and a doctor with a stretcher bed came rushing to take her out. They slowly took her out, laid her on the stretcher bed and were driving in as soon as possible.
As they drove that stretcher bed Preston was playing in his heart for his mother to be saved. She still had a lot to do for instance accept Caleb truly as her son in law. Preston was really playing hard but his horror came. When they reached the E.R they were stopped.
"I'm sorry," the doctor said. "You cannot come any further. From now on we'll take care of her."
"Will she be alright?" William asked. He was crying heavily.
"I don't know." The doctor said softly. "What happened to her?"
"I've no idea," Preston cried. "Please," Preston begged. "Do everything that you have to do to save her. I'll pay any amount."
"We'll do our best," The doctor promised.
He watched as his mother was being taken into the E.R. A part of him went in with her. His tears were uncontrollably running down his cheeks. He didn't care who saw him in that state. All he cared about was to see his mother alive.
Man, it was so painful. He'd been in that situation twice. First was with Caleb and now his mother. She has to live. She just has to live.
Caleb kept a close eye on Preston. He was panicking and probably needed his help and embrace but he was not sure. Janice had been nothing but a pain but even at that Caleb wanted her to live. She needed to live for the people that loves her and also for her husband.
Caleb directed his eyes on the floor and saw William deep in tears, nodding his head. Everyone was busy crying. The rest of the family had not arrived yet. He glanced at his husband and saw him leaning to a wall crying. That was it. He needed to embrace him.
Caleb moved closer to Preston and as expected the guy wrapped his arms around him and cried. Caleb's own tears came out and he cried with Preston. He was meant to be strong but he couldn't bear to see him crying.
Caleb prayed for his mot
her in law to be saved so that his husband could be saved from all the torture he was going through. He really prayed for her to be saved.
"Caleb," Preston cried. "I can't bear to see her in that condition." He cried loudly. "She was all well this evening. What happened to her?"
Preston was right, Caleb thought. Janice was alright and now she was in the E.R fighting for her life. All these events were really confusing Caleb. He had no idea what had happened but he prayed she'd be saved.
"She'll be fine," Caleb said, rubbing Preston' back. "Mother will be fine."
Preston held Caleb tightly and he cried some more. Caleb was the only stone that he had. His mother must be saved no matter what.
Preston saw Suzanne, Caroline, George and Juanita coming towards them.
"Where is she?" George asked as a tear fell down his cheeks. "Where is Aunt Vic?"
Preston pointed to the E.R as more tears fell from his eyes.
"She's in there." He cried. "The doctor didn't tell us anything."
"She'll be fine," Caroline said confidently as she rubbed her tears. "My sister is a fighter and I know she'll make it."
"Yeah," Suzanne sobbed. "I know my mom will make it. She can't just leave us like this."
There was silence between all of them. Only cries and sobs could be heard.
"I wonder what happened to mother," Juanita said.
"We'll find out when the doctor comes out." Caroline said. "Did you call...?"
"I did." Juanita sobbed. "He'll be here by tomorrow morning."

There was silence among everyone. Each one wandered from side to side staring at their watches. They've stopped crying but the wait was killing them. Nurses were coming in and out of the emergency room and Preston had just given up long ago.
He was moving from side to side waiting. His heart was racing. His hands were trembling. He was sweaty and he was pretty sure he smelled of cum but he didn't care. All he wanted was for his mother to be alive in the house.
He stared at Caleb and he was leaning to a wall looking sad. He wanted to wrap his arms around him and tell him that everything was gonna be alright but he was not in any position to comfort anyone when he needed comforting too. He kept staring at the E.R, wondering, hoping and praying.
It has been over an hour and the doctor has still not come out. Preston was trembling. He was shaking and he was about to storm into that room and tells them to hurry it up. The wait was killing him. He was dirty, stinking and he was bare foot.
Suddenly, the light turned off and the door to the E.R opened and the doctor came out with musk on his face and removed his groves. Everyone ran to him and surrounded him.
"Doctor, how is she?" Preston asked.
"Yes, doctor." Suzanne asked. "Tell us how our mother is."
The doctor removed the musk and nodded his head. Preston was not ready for any bullshit. He was gonna kill the doctor if his mother died at all.
"She's safe," the doctor said still nodding his head. "She's out of danger and she'll be up any minute from now."
"Thank God," William exclaimed as he rubbed his tears. His eyes were red from crying.
"So what happened to her?" Caroline asked.
The doctor nodded again before he began talking.
"Err...did she have any food before you rushed her here?"
"No," Caroline said. "She was sick since morning. I don't think she had..."
"Yes," William said. "Not food exactly but she had soup."
"Alright," the doctor nodded. "I'm sorry to say but she had food poisoning and I think it was on purpose."
"What?" Preston yelled as his hands trembled. "Food poisoning,"
"Yes," the doctor said as he took a step closer. "Our scan showed that she was poisoned. The food that she had recently was poisoned."
"Poisoned," Preston muttered wondering who'd want to poison his mother.
"I must tell you she's a lucky woman."
"Meaning," William asked angrily.
"She barely survived but she's a fighter." The doctor smiled. "The poison is really dangerous but for some reason it didn't spread to the rest of her body or rather it was slow for some reason."
The people were happy that it had happened but one thing was all in their minds. Who had poisoned her? That question was ringing through each one of them.
"Do you have any idea who had poisoned her or..."
"Yes," William said softly and diverted her eyes at Caleb. "I think Caleb can answer that question."
Caleb was caught by surprise. To say he was scared would be an understatement. He was trembling and his strength left him. He had been quiet since he heard that the soup he had cooked was poisoned. He had even been trying to figure out how or what happened.
"What?" Caleb said angrily. "Me!"
"Yes," William folded his arms on his chest. "Yes, you,"
"What are you saying," Caleb asked.
"You were the one who made the soup for her so if there is anyone who should the answer to that it should be..."
"Enough!" Preston yelled angrily.
He couldn't hear William utter a word against Caleb. Just because Caleb had made the soup doesn't mean he poisoned it. Caleb wouldn't even hurt a fly, right?
"I don't want to hear this no sense against Caleb." Preston warned, angrily pointing his finger at William.
"But, Preston..."
"I said, not another word." Preston warned. He was furious. "How dare you accuse my Caleb?"
Caleb's eyes watered from that accusation. How could William do this to him? He grabbed every opportunity he got to try and make him feel bad. Caleb had no reason whatsoever to kill his mother in law even though she was hell bent on separating Preston and him. He'd never do that to Preston' mother no matter what she had done to him.
"I'm sorry, my love." Preston said as he brought Caleb closer to him.
He wrapped his arms around him and brought his head to his chest. "I'm so sorry,"
Caleb still had his eyes on William who was fuming. Yes, William loved Janice but that didn't give him the right to question Caleb. To be honest Caleb was scared. He was really scared. Come to think of it he had prepared that soup and many people would blame him too. He was just happy that Preston stood by him no matter what William said.
"So what's next, doctor?" George asked.
"She'll be out of the E.R in a few minutes," The doctor smiled.
The family was happy but William still had his eye on Caleb. Caleb really didn't care what William thought. What was important was that his husband trusted him and that was enough. There was nothing that matter the most.

Preston watched his mother lying on that bed. She was looking peaceful but the thought that someone had tried to kill her couldn't leave his mind. Sure, they didn't have a proper investigation but once they all go home Preston will bring all the maids for questioning maybe one of them did it. His Caleb couldn't have done something like that. He was too nice, too sweet and too caring. There was no one who was like his Caleb in that house.
"I can't believe someone tried to poison mother," Suzanne muttered.
"I can't believe it either," Caroline said as she stared at her sister who was lying in that bed. She was so peaceful and so quiet.
"I think whoever did it should be thrown in jail," Juanita said softly. "Johnny will be back tomorrow. He'll come and bring mother to the house. I just wish we'll be able to find out who did it and their motive for it."
Caleb was quiet. He couldn't utter any word. He knew he was innocent and that was what enough was. Preston believed in his innocence too and that's what matters the most. He could see from William's eyes that the guy was blaming him for poisoning Janice.
"Can we please be quiet," George begged. "What matters is that we are all together. We'll talk about this issue once we are together at home. Let's allow her to rest. We'll ask her if she knows anything when she wakes up."
"Yeah," Caroline said softly. "There is no point askin
g each other those questions."
"Well if you ask me...."
"William, please," Preston said hoarsely. "Stop accusing Caleb. He can never do such a thing."
"Yes," Caroline smiled brightly at Caleb. "I trust him completely. He cannot do that."
Caleb was happy that his husband and Aunt Caroline trusted him so much. He really loved them a lot but he couldn't help but feel uneasy. He knew most of the people were gonna question him.
