He didn’t look around at his surroundings like most businessmen do. The confidence in which he carries himself is a turn on all by itself. I was standing behind the counter drooling over him for a minute, before I remembered men like him do not look at girls like me. At least not for longer than it takes for them to cheat on their wives, knock us up, and leave us single moms struggling for the rest of our lives. After talking some sense into myself, I go back to doing my job. Only when I return, I am told his table would be my final table for the night.

“Great.” Is my sarcastic answer to my boss.

I figured it would be a quick order and then I would be off for the night. Wrong! Well, not entirely wrong. The order-taking is quick. The rude fat guy he’s with only wanted the most expensive things on the menu and wasted no time in ordering both of them. The woman sitting next to him, with the incredibly annoying voice, ordered the most worthless thing on the menu. She must be watching her figure, I am sure.

I wonder if she is his girlfriend. What could he possibly see in her? It’s obvious she is one of those women who barely eat and then… Stop it, Francesca. It’s none of your business. I chastise myself as I round the corner of the block Esther lives on.

The truth is, I am more than a little jealous and still reeling from the kiss he laid on me in the hallway of the restaurant. My lips are still tingling. I can’t help but raise my hand to them, trying to capture the moment once more. Before I know it, I am putting my key in the lock of Esther’s door.

“It’s about time you got home. You must have walked. Did you walk?” She asks me, her hands on her hips with a motherly scowl on her face. I shake my head smiling at her.

“I did. If you must know, I had a lot on my mind.” I mumble under my breath as I’m walking into the room. I should have known she misses nothing.

“Oh? Do tell. What happened?” She sits crossed legged on my bed waiting for me to spill my guts. I try to ignore her by walking around the room changing into my house clothes. My body is still buzzing with the feelings he set off in me.

“Helloooo. I’m waiting.” I giggle, shaking my head at her impatience.

I should have known that she wouldn’t let it go. I turn to look at her and paste a fake scowl on my face. She, in turn, lifts her eyebrow at me, and I cannot help but crack up laughing. I love this damn girl.

I moved here almost two years ago, as a foreign exchange student, to finish high school in a new country. Originally, I am from Quebec, Canada. The exchange family I lived with was wonderful. However, when my year was up, like anyone, they expected me to go back.

In theory, I was supposed to. But go back to what? My parents died the year before in a car crash. The boarding school I was attending gave me the chance to go somewhere different and I took it. I was eager to get away from the memories that were causing me pain and I had no one to go back home too.

For that matter I had no one here either, but at least it was new. The best thing about the year I spent here as a foreign exchange student, is meeting Esther. She and her family are amazing. They weren't the family I was originally staying with, but they welcomed me with open arms as much as they could. We became the best of friends.

I got a couple of scholarships to go to college which allowed me to get an extension on my student visa. However, said scholarships didn’t cover the whole year. So, I got a job and finished out the first half of the year at the restaurant I am working in right now. Next, I found a small studio apartment to live in and then began my new life. The plan was to save enough money to start college this fall. Especially since my visa is basically no good without being in school.

Esther is the one constant in my life. For a while it seemed as if everything was going as good as can be expected. That was until the day the landlord sold the building without telling any of the tenants. Needless to say, I am now homeless. Well, I was for about a minute. The moment Esther found out, she made me move in and the rest is history.

“Some guy kissed me today,” I say really fast, not bothering to look at her. I already know the expression on her face.

“I’m sorry, what?” Her voice is laced with excitement and expectation. Turning towards her, I tell her everything that happened and then sit on the couch drained from all the confusion.

“O.M.G. Frannie. Holy cow! How the hell did you not give him any and everything he asked you for?” She asks, jumping up and down as if I just told her I was going to be a princess or something. I roll my eyes at her.

“Look at me, Es. That man makes six figures at the least. He doesn't really want anything permanent with me. Plus, he was sitting next to his girlfriend.” I say, going into the kitchen.

“You don’t know that. She could have been the other man’s wife or something.”

I stop in my tracks. That thought never once occurred to me. Well hell. I slump my shoulders with the realization that I could have missed out on something. It stuns me for a second before I come back to my senses.

“Whatever. It’s over now. The chances that I’ll see him again are slim to none. I am moving on. Besides, I need to figure out the situation with school before I have to go back to Canada.” I tell her, looking in the refrigerator for something to eat.

“I know what you need,” she says, opening the freezer. She turns with two, one-pint tubs of ice cream.

“Ah, you know me so well,” I tell her, laughing.

We sit in the living room watching “Life As We Know It” with Katherine Heigl and Josh Duhamel until we both can barely keep our eyes open. Walking into my bedroom, I strip out of my clothes and slide under the covers. My body is trying its damndest to recreate the feelings he spurred in me. Turning over, I vow to fight it. There is no sense in starting something I can’t possibly finish. I fall asleep confident I have squelched the hunger for any and everything he promised in that kiss.

Too bad my dreams don’t take the hint. This is going to be a battle. I just hope I win.

  Chapter Three

  Baron

I’ve been on edge for days trying to find her, and the only information that I know is accurate is her place of employment. Unfortunately, she hasn’t been at work for the past three nights and it’s causing me to lose my fucking mind. I head into the office, but for the first time, my mind isn’t on business.

Going into Marquise’s office, I try to waste time before I decide to do something drastic. I know there are a million things I could be doing, but I honestly don’t want to.

“What the hell is wrong with you?” he asks.

  “Nothing,” I tell him.

“Bullshit. You have been on edge for a while. What’s going on?”

“I met her. You know? The one.” He sets his pen down and looks up at me.

  “Really?”

“Yes, but now I can’t find her.”

“What do you know about her?”

“Almost everything, except where she lives.”

“I have a meeting in ten minutes, but I want to discuss this more,” he says.

  “Dinner? Thursday?”

“I know the perfect place,” I murmur wryly, thinking of where Frannie works.

My office has an oak desk and two chairs. It also has a seating area with two couches that are facing each other for informal meetings. But I have never had one of those. An informal meeting. It is something I just don’t do...

“Mr. Roades is out to lunch, Mr. Roades,” Duke’s assistant, Ingrid says. Ingrid has been with the company since the beginning and now she has got to probably be around eighty. She always has a look, as if she is a dragon who’s guarding its treasure. To be honest it scares the hell out of me.

“Ingrid, babe. I’ve asked you to call me Baron a million times,” I say sitting on the edge of her desk. She gives me a small smile before removing any trace of it from her face.

“Mr. Roades, it’s not proper. Now, get your skinny ass off of my desk. You know my husband would kick it if he found out you were flirting with me,” she says
.

“I won’t tell him if you don’t babe,” I say grinning at her.

“Get out of here with your bad self,” she says, finally laughing. I start to slide off of her desk, but not before taking a handful of candy from the bowl she has sitting on the corner of it.

“Bye Ingrid,” I say with a wave, before heading to Princeton’s office. Considering that he doesn't currently have an assistant, I walk straight into his open office.

“Yo, Prince. Do you want to get some lunch?” I ask. He never looks up at me before replying.

“Sorry Bare. I am swamped today. Besides, I think Ingrid ordered me something,” he says.

“Sounds good,” I say, as I sit in one of the chairs in front of his desk.

He has what I like to call a mega desk. It’s one massive desk in front and a smaller one, which sits behind him. He has both a desktop computer as well as a laptop that he works from. It’s daunting looking at the setup he has in this room. There is even a giant conference table located off to one side, and a couch and bar on the other.

“Did you need something?” He asks.

“No. My schedule for meetings today is light. I am glad I arranged it that way, especially after dealing with the dinner a few days ago and that arrogant asshole,” I tell him.

While Prince and I are close, we don’t usually talk about personal things. It is one of those things that I am not sure why. Marquise and I on the other hand usually do, but Princeton is a bit of an enigma. Deciding maybe it’s not the time to start opening up now, I remove myself from the chair and leave his office for the solitude of mine.

Getting to my office, I bypass my assistant Laurie without speaking to her. I really can't stand her, and after the way she behaved at the dinner last night, I have nothing to say to her. The arrangement we have seems to be exactly what she wants. She is very content with not doing any work for me, while I am thankful, I do not have to give her much to do.

After I finally get through the workday, I find myself back at the restaurant hoping that this time will be different than the last few times I have been back. To my satisfaction, Frannie is working. Deciding to handle things differently, I request to sit in a different section where I can watch her as she works. She is fucking beautiful and absolutely graceful in the way she moves from table to table to give her customers her complete attention. I hate it.

When the restaurant starts to thin out, I decide to make my way over and pay my bill. Leaving and going out to my car, I sit and wait for her to leave the restaurant. When she finally comes out, I am surprised to see her starting to head down the street and keep going. Of course, now I have to follow behind her, discreetly, to make sure nothing happens to my precious woman. After twenty minutes of walking, she stops at a building, uses her key, and goes inside.

Without thinking of what I am doing or what I will say, I get out of the car and follow her movements up the stairs. She has already unlocked her apartment and gone inside, so I do not have to wait a few minutes before banging on the door. She opens it and her eyes widen in surprise.

  “You?” She questions.

  “Hello, Frannie.”

  “What are you doing here?”

  “Trying to find you.”

“Why would you need to find me?”

“I would like to ask you out,” I tell her.

“I don’t date men who are already involved with someone.”

“I am not with anyone,” I reply.

“What about the girl with the dressing on the side?” She questions bitterly.

“She’s my assistant, not my girlfriend.”

  “Oh.”

“Will you step out here and talk to me?” I ask. She does and closes the door behind her.

“What did you want to talk about?”

“I would like to talk about taking you out tomorrow night.”

“What gives you the idea that I would go out with you when I don’t even know who you are or anything about you.”

“Oh, you will. I can guarantee that you will know everything about me,” I respond smugly before kissing her lips.

She moans and opens her mouth to let me continue kissing her. This time when I run my fingers up her thighs, she doesn’t stop me. Her little work skirt is sexy as hell and offers very easy access for what I am trying to reach. I find her panties and slide them off to the side. Using my much larger body, I block her from the view of anyone else being able to get a glimpse of what is mine. Moving my fingers down through her slit, I find she is already wet for me. She bites down lightly on her lip when I find her clit. With my thumb on her clit, I gently slide two fingers inside her tight cunt.

“Oh fuck,” she whispers. I take her lips again. Her sounds of pleasure are only for me.

I feel her pussy fluttering around my fingers as her nails dig into my shoulders. She moans in my mouth as her body comes from the release I am fueling in her body. I start to pull away from her, but not before raising and tasting her juices on my fingers in my mouth. I groan. Fuck. She tastes like heaven.

  “So, dinner? Tomorrow at seven?”

  “Yes,” she breathes.

“Perfect.” I lean forward to give her another kiss.

“Wait! What’s your name?” She asks, grabbing the front of my shirt.

“Baron Roades. Now, I’ll let you get back to what’s left of your evening.” I tell her. Reaching into my pocket and handing her my business card with all of my pertinent information on it, before leaving her for the night.

“Baron Roades? Where have I heard that name before?”

“Until tomorrow, sweet Frannie,” I say chuckling and waiting until she goes inside, locking the door behind her.

Tomorrow, the rest of our lives begin.

  Chapter Four

  Frannie

‘Holy shit!’ I think as I am leaning against the inside of the door. My mind is whirling and trying to figure out what the hell just happened. I went from simply coming home from work to getting finger-fucked outside my friend’s apartment door. And this is done by a man, who obviously followed me home from work. It’s either that or he had someone hack my information on the internet. The thing is, I don’t even care. The only thing my mind can conjure at the moment is the amazing feelings he produced inside of me. I went from being shocked, to a bit freaked out at being so ready for him, to do with me as he pleased What is wrong with me?

“Girl, your face is beet red. What happened?” Esther asks with concern.

I look at her, but my mouth is unable to move as I remember the feel of his mouth on mine. My hand slides over my lips as I relive the last five minutes, wishing I could call him back to do it again and then some.

“Helloooo...Earth to Frannie. Anybody home?” She snaps her fingers in front of my face making me jump.

“Oh crap. I’m sorry. It’s just...remember that guy I told you about a couple of days ago?”

“You mean, mister let’s have ice cream and watch a movie?” she asks, smiling and winking at me.

“Yes. Him. Well, apparently, he followed me home tonight. Then after asking me to go out with him tomorrow, he… well... we… hhh… mmm… anyway... I said I would go out with him,” I stammer. I can feel my face reheating as I decide not to tell her exactly what we did.

“Are you serious? I’m not sure how I feel about the fact that he followed you home. Did you even get his name by any chance?” My eyebrows go up as it dawns on me, I did.

“As a matter of fact, yes. He said his name is Baron Roades.”

“Wait... Roades… As in the Roades Family?” I look at her in confusion because I have no clue why the hell she is all of a sudden so excited. “You don’t know who I am talking about, do you?” I shake my head no. “What am I going to do with you? Come with me.” She grabs my hands and drags me into her room.

Sitting on her bed, she pulls her laptop out and starts typing in something. All of a sudden, I am staring at Baron and four other men. One is a man I recognize as the Senator
of Illinois. My hand immediately goes to my stomach as I begin to feel sick. What would a man like him want with me? She continues to pull up information about him and my belly begins to hurt worse with each sentence she reads to me. He and his brothers were adopted by the Roades when they were boys in a foster home. Their parents loved and taught them how to be the best person inside of each of them. Now, he and his brothers own a multi-billion-dollar business.

“Oh my god,” I say as I begin to feel nauseous. “I can’t go out with him.”

“Look at me, Frannie. There is nothing he has that is better than you. You are just as amazing as he is.” I look at her, blinking fast because I feel the tears building. Nodding my head, I thank her and go into my room.

“Why did it have to be him? Why did it have to be his hands that my body keeps begging for?” I ask myself as I undress and get into bed. Laying there and staring at the ceiling, I can’t help but imagine him on top of me. His cock sliding inside of me, making me scream his name.

“Oh God,” I whisper, while my hand is sliding down my body to hopefully reenact with my fingers what he did to my body with his and getting the same results. With no clothes on, it takes no time for my fingers to reach my pussy. As I graze across my clit like he did in the hallway. My legs spread as I begin to move my fingers in and out of my tight, slippery, hole. His name slips from my mouth over and over as my back arches off the bed. I refuse to open my eyes and break my own heart with the reality of him not being here.
