by Debbie Lawrence

Alice got pregnant with the help of an anonymous guy at a bar who was quite happy to donate his sperm to the cause. He didn’t know that Alice had put a rather large hole in the condom. Nobody even knew how to contact him if they wanted to. Their daughter grew up to help Tina with her business interests and turned out to be a tough negotiator.

When Alan Berg was assassinated, the investigation led directly to members of Calvary Baptist church.

Four of the youth pastors at Calvary Temple were prosecuted as child molesters when they were caught in internet sting operations. Several families in the church were forced to leave because their children testified against the pastors.

In Colorado Springs, a drag queen was murdered, and a few months later the gay bar was burned down. Both the murder and the arson led to families of people working at Focus on the Family headquarters.

After being groped and molested and raped on a regular basis, Thomas left jail and never again made a grope-bet and worked training corporate employees in reducing sexual harassment - including support for reporting and prosecuting the perpetrators. He did run for a seat in the state legislature, for the Democrats, as a liberal.

As expected Betsy’s temper and violence landed her in a maximum-security prison and got time added to her sentence. In maximum security, she was attacked regularly for a few years. Eventually she was stabbed to death in the yard.

Tina graduated and went on to become a very successful sales manager for a large multinational corporation. All the travel brought new romance to Tina and Alice’s life, and Alice became a thought leader in LGBT issues nationwide. Nancy joined Dr. Benjamin and helped him establish WPATH.

In 1986, Tina had her GRS, after learning of several improvements in the procedures being performed in Trinidad, the most important of which was a sensate clitoris

Mohammed was kidnapped by his brothers and flown in their private jet to Saudi Arabia for a forced marriage Sarah Bin Ladin, arranged by his parents. Rather than be dishonored by an immediate divorce, she met Daisy and the two became close friends. Daisy found that she enjoyed his wife as much as she enjoyed Mohammed. Sarah had three children, and Daisy had two, a third wife who was loved by the other three, had two more children. Daisy became their teacher, and was soon teaching the kids of Mohammed’s brothers and sisters. There was never a need for a fourth wife.

Doris Tooley, the prosecutor in the case, became the District Attorney for Denver for three terms, then was tapped for the Attorney General of Colorado. Tooley made a reputation for her pragmatic approach and rather creative deals and settlements.

Denver passed a law protecting all constitutional rights of homosexuals and PERCEIVED homosexuals, which protected transgender people who had not yet transitioned. Several state laws against cross-dressing were also repealed under a sunset program. Two decades later, they passed a law protecting the rights of transsexuals who were in the process of transitioning or had transitioned.

Judge Connors eventually became a judge on the Colorado State Supreme Court.

Senator Thompson was defeated in the election that followed the case, and became a successful lobbyist in Washington. His second wife was quite happy to stay in Colorado while her husband played around in Washington DC.

  Bibliography

  Other Books by Debbie Ballard

Living in Stealth 1 : Undercover

She couldn't hide the girl inside, no matter how she tried.

Rex had a secret, a secret he couldn't even tell his own parents. Rex was really a girl. Even though his parents knew, they couldn't do anything to help. How can Rex survive while trapped and forced to pretend to be a boy?

This is NOT a story about someone who transitions, it's about what happens to transgender girls who do NOT transition. Recommended reading for those who don't understand Gender Dysphoria.

Warning, this book contains descriptions of events that are violent, and a few scenes that are mildly sexual in nature (kissing, necking, petting, short medical terms).

This book also covers topics of suicide, alcoholism, and drug addiction as experienced by many of those who suffer from Gender Dysphoria.

Living in Stealth 2 : Iron Mask

Rex has shared his little secret with one person, the one he loves most, his wife. Now he must maintain a double life, making him acutely aware that he must cover his true self with the Iron Mask, pretending to be what he is not, to save his marriage, his children, and his career.

Will Debbie ever take off the mask of Rex?

Living in Stealth 3: Breaking Cover

Rex feels the pull to be Debbie stronger than ever. She has shared her secret with a few people, but now she must break cover, revealing her true self. Forces conspire to prevent this, including her own success. Ultimately Debbie can finally live authentically.

This book contains sexually explicit passages as well as details of the process of transitioning as a transgender woman.

  Not recommended for younger readers.

Living In Stealth: Abridged Conservative Edition

This an abridged version of the Living in Stealth series - Sexually explicit detail has been removed, duplicate or redundant sections have been removed. This version is an attempt to address the entire transgender experience, from early childhood through adult transition. This book is written for the families, friends, and others who are struggling with what it means to be transgender. It is especially oriented toward those who have concerns about, or opposition to, transgender people. Hence the nickname GOP edition.

Debbie's Secret Life: LGBT in Stealth

For those who are bewildered by the Leelah Alcorn suicide, this book provides a lot of insights.

Rex was born a little different. He had a little secret. Inside was Debbie. How would she find happiness in a body that did not fit. Would she change her body, or change the world? This book explores the world of those who are LGBT from a very young age, their trials, how they adapt, how they survive, and how they find happiness.

This book does contain some brief passages of mildly sexually explicit content, mostly to help people understand some of the thinking and coping mechanisms that some of those who are transgender women experience before and during t
ransition.

This book also provides a historical perspective on the transgender experience, beginning in the 1950s through today.

  Other Fiction Writers

  Karin Bishop

Karin is an experienced writer with remarkable insights into the character and nature of transgender girls and transgender women. A common trademark is that her transgender characters are remarkably intelligent, insightful, and wise. I could tell you why this is accurate, but her books show it so much better.

All of her characters are interesting, complex, and inspiring. Many of them are very enjoyable. The plots are also creative and imaginative, with many interesting and unpredictable twists.

Many of her stories involve a young boy or man who is socially transgender, socializing primarily with women, and engaging in activities. Often they are physically feminine as well.

Sometimes they are tricked into transition, other times they are pushed or coerced initially, other times it's just a "game". In each case, however, the initial nudge breaks open a floodgate of desire to transition and what started as a reluctant episode of "Dress-up" becomes an aggressive desire to transition because they realize how much happier they are as girls.
