He caught up with Stanson at the entry doors. “A moment of your time, Captain.”

Stanson stopped with a polite smile. “Yes, sir?”

Drew paused to pick his words carefully. “I don’t think you’re aware, but you and I…we’ve traveled in some of the same circles. Let’s just say, I know you by reputation.”

  Stanson nodded his understanding.

“From one operator to another…how’s our boy doing?”

Stanson offered him a solemn smile. “I think you know, Steve and I go way back. We knew each other in the terror wars. Back then, I tried to cultivate the warrior in him. But I always saw his honor and integrity. That wasn’t just the Army. That was your teaching him. It has also been the basis of his training on the force. I have been able to make him into a good cop, but you put the values of the shield in him. For that, you should be very proud of your son.”

Drew nodded. “Aye. That I am.”

  About the Author

G.C. Harmon became interested in action heroes at a very young age: cops, firefighters, soldiers, even race car drivers and cowboys. At the age of 10, he discovered writing, and began by creating short stories based on his favorite TV characters. Around the same time, he created the Steve Blazer character, and has been developing the character never since. As a teen, he discovered the pulp fiction genre, authors writing books with the kind of heroes and stories he aspired to write himself, favorites including the Executioner and Destroyer series. Through self-publishing, he made new contacts in the publishing business and discovered Wolfpack Publishing, putting out the kind of exciting adventure writing he has done his entire life.
