“What’s your name?” He growled. His fierce gaze fell to my quivering mouth.
“Shanice.” I lied.
I was so scared I didn’t know what else to say. His nostrils flared; reminding me of the beast they called him.
“Don’t lie to me shorty!” He barked.
I jumped from the force of his anger. I put my hand back on his massive chest, trying to calm him.
“I’m not, I swear! Please just let me go!”
He was scaring the heck out of me. When he lifted his arms and took off his black t-shirt, my heart skipped a beat as I stared wide eyed at his massive chest that was now only covered by a white tank.
Dear God! He was not going to stop!
But then he surprised me by gently putting the big shirt over my head. I pushed my arms through the sleeves staring up at him confused. I bit my lip, his eyes lowered to it. His head dipped just slightly as if he was going to kiss me again, but instead he just stared down at me.
I could see him battling with himself. Eventually, he wrapped his big hands around my waist, lifting me from the table. Instead of putting me on my feet he just held me there in the air, face to face with him.
“Do you know who I am?” He asked in a low deadly voice. I nodded.
“So you know what I’ll do to you if I find out that you’re lying to me?”
My eyes widened and my lips trembled. I was getting ready to lose it. I nodded. Slowly he put me on my feet. His big t-shirt fell to my knees.
I didn’t waste any time. Without looking back I fled the room and didn’t stop running until I stood in front of my locker in the dressing room. With hands that shook, I put on my overalls, stuffing his big shirt I had on down in them. After grabbing my backpack and putting it on, minutes later I was slipping out the back door.
Oh God, what did I just do?
