EVEN MONSTERS NEED A GOOD LAWYER
Monsters like vampires, werewolves, and witches are collectively known as Concordat Citizens and they are governed by their own set of laws. Colt Valentine is a wise cracking Advocate who bridges the worlds of men and monsters and uniquely practices law in both human and supernatural courts.
TIL DEATH DO US PART . . . SOME VOWS CAN’T BE BROKEN
Colt didn’t think his love and professional lives could get any more complicated
than they already were. He was wrong. Dead wrong.
FOR BETTER OR WORSE
When they were married Colt’s wife rarely made things better and now that they’re divorced Colt thought things would start to look up. Instead everything is circling down the drain.
DAMED IF YOU DO, DAMNED IF YOU DON’T
On the morning of her wedding, to the guy she cheated on him with, Colt’s ex-wife calls him and asks him to review a document, a prenuptial agreement, that her husband-to-be has sprung on her at the last minute.
Colt initially refuses, and then he discovers his ex-wife is about to marry a Concordat Citizen, an Efreet, one who has a habit of sacrificing his new wives to a volcano. Colt is faced with impossible choices. Does he represent his wife? Does he stop the wedding? Does he save the day and continue to make crippling monthly alimony payments? Or does he leave his gold digging ex-wife to suffer her fate.
To make matters worse, marital law is not something in his professional comfort zone. Sinn, his currently estranged law partner, a vampire, whom he's been trying to pursue a romantic relationship with--and failing, handles most of the firm contract and family law cases, and the last thing Colt wants to do is ask Sinn to help out his ex-wife.
SOMETIMES MARRIAGE REALLY IS A SACRIFICE
