Into the Lyons Den Page 10

He flipped Andrei onto his hands and knees and went to town on his ass. Andrei cried out and Devin didn’t know if it was from the pain or the pleasure. At this point he didn’t really care which one it was. Grabbing Andrei’s taut ass cheeks, he spread them and dove for the puckered flesh. Another cry escaped from Andrei and Devin slicked his fingers with spit as he tongue-fucked Andrei’s ass. Without warning, he slid two fingers inside Andrei. A choked cry of surprise came from Andrei and Devin licked his hand, slicking his cock.

“I’m going to split you in fucking half, Panchenko,” Devin growled.

The muscle around his fingers twitched and pulsed and Devin realized Andrei was way too tight.

“What are you waiting for?” Andrei snarled. The pain in his ass was excruciating. He hadn’t had sex in over a year.

Devin blinked. He was all about causing pain, but this was wrong for a lot of reasons.

“I have to get out of here,” Devin pulled on his sweats and stood up.

Andrei grabbed his own sweats and pulled them on.

  “What is wrong?”

“This - all of this is wrong! You’re a fucking killer, Panchenko!”

“And you are not? How many people have you killed, Devin?”

“Don’t call me that!” Devin snarled. “I’ll keep you alive, but that’s it. This is not going to happen again.”

Andrei stood up. He searched Devin’s face. “You want me. It goes against everything you have told yourself.”

“Don’t try to fucking analyze me, Panchenko. I slipped. It won’t happen again. I know who you are; I just need to focus on that.”

Andrei crossed the room and stood in front of Devin. “I know who you are, too.” Andrei brushed past Devin and left the workout room.

Devin closed his eyes as the door slammed shut. He stalked to the stereo and flipped the music off. What the fuck had he been thinking, making out with his mortal enemy? Devin brushed his fingers across his lips.

“Shit, shit, shit!” Devin picked up one of the dumbbells and threw it against the wall. A low whistle met his ears and he spun around to see Ivan eyeing him.

  “What?” Devin snarled.

  “You should pack.”

  “Why?”

  “We are leaving for Paris.”

“Why? The benefit isn’t until next month.”

Ivan shrugged. “Andrei wants to leave now.” Ivan turned back to the door and looked over his shoulder. “When I said I would kill you if I thought you were a threat to Andrei, I meant it, Agent Lyons.”

  “I didn’t hurt him.”

“Oh, but you did,” Ivan narrowed his eyes. “Don’t do it again.”

Devin sighed as the door shut. He grabbed his shirt off the bench and made his way out into the hall. A man stood across the hall, arms crossed over his chest. Devin tried to place him. The face was familiar; dark hair framed a rugged face and cold, grey-green eyes were narrowed at him. It finally clicked.

  “Dimitri Voronova,” Devin said.

“Well done, Agent Lyons. My husband tells me you have been giving Andrei some trouble?”

“And so what? You’re going to kick my ass now?”

Dimitri chuckled. “Oh, that is too easy. You and I are in the same profession, are we not? You kill bad people for money as I do. The difference with Andrei is that he kills bad people for free. He has never taken a life that did not need to be taken.”

“I don’t think you know the whole story—”

“Oh, but I do. Andrei never lies, Lyons.” Dimitri raised a brow as Devin snorted. “Never. I know everything about Andrei, every single person he has killed. He keeps a list, did you know that? “

  Devin started.

  “Ah, so you didn’t know.”

A loud squeal pierced the sound barrier and Devin turned to see Chris galloping down the hall toward his husband. The grin on Dimitri’s face could have lit up a whole town. Chris plowed into his husband, attacking his lips.

“Baby!” Chris peppered his husband’s lips with kisses. “You’re here!”

“I am,” Dimitri chuckled, wrapping his arms around Christophe. “I missed you.”

“I missed you, too! God you look so fuckable!” Chris wrapped his legs around Dimitri’s waist and dove for his lips.

Devin coughed quietly and tried not to smile as Chris looked over at him.

“Need a room? There’s like, fifty in the mansion.”

Chris glared at Devin. “I’m mad at you!”

“What the fuck did I do?”

“It’s who you didn’t do! Does a building need to fall on your head? You have feelings for Andrei and you can’t handle it!”

Dimitri caressed Chris’ cheek. “You cannot argue with my husband Agent Lyons. He is very smart. Aren’t you, my love?” Dimitri kissed Chris’ lips. “I have missed you; let me show you how much,” Dimitri grinned.

“Oh, hell yeah, baby. Lead the way!” Chris wrapped himself around Dimitri and held on as they walked down the hall. He pointed at Lyons. “Fix it!”

Devin opened one eye and looked over at Andrei’s sleeping form in the bed. He moved carefully, trying not to wake him. Andrei had his head phones plugged into his ears and his iPod was on his pillow. Devin crept to the bedroom door and opened it quietly. The two guards he had come to call ‘rolls eyes’ and ‘smartass’ stood on either side of Andrei’s door, hands behind their backs, looking straight ahead. Devin stepped into the hall and closed the door behind him.

“Well, if it isn’t my two favorite guys.” Devin grinned and slapped ‘smartass’ on the back. “I’m thirsty guys, hold the fort.”

‘Rolls eyes’ actually narrowed his eyes at him.

“It means keep an eye—” Devin sighed. “Never mind.”

Devin walked slowly down the hall. It was quiet in the mansion. He passed more guards as he made his way down the staircase. They nodded at him and he nodded back. He knew most of their names, but he made some up anyway. Devin chuckled to himself and took the hall to Andrei’s office. He shut the door behind him and made his way to Andrei’s desk. He turned the small lamp on, looked over all the drawers and started with the bottom left one. Bank papers, adoption records, marriage license, divorce decree…Devin shut the desk drawer and opened the one above it. More paperwork. Devin went through the rest of the drawers. The frustration was growing. He wanted to find the list.

“It is not in my desk.”

Devin froze, hand on the middle drawer. He looked up to see Andrei standing in the doorway.

“What’s not?” Devin sat back in the chair.

Andrei shut the door behind him and walked across the room to the family portrait on the wall. He removed the painting to reveal a wall safe. Andrei turned to face Devin and motioned to the safe.

  “It is in here.”

Devin stood, but remained behind the desk. His dick had noticed Andrei’s low riding sweats and shirtless chest.

  “Again, what is?”

Andrei flipped the dial back and forth and popped the safe open. He pulled out a notebook and threw it at Devin.

“The list of the people I’ve killed. I’m sure you’ll want to go through it and match it with what we discussed. I’m sure you’ll find I was quite honest.”

  “How did you…?”

“Dimitri,” Andrei sighed and leaned against the wall. “You really do not believe me, do you? I have no reason to hide my dealings.”

Devin opened the notebook, then closed it. Part of him wanted to look and see if ‘Lyons’ was on that list. The war was raging inside him and he sighed deeply. Andrei walked to the desk and flipped the notebook open again. He began to turn the pages slowly. Devin put his hand on top of Andrei’s.

  “Just stop.”

“Why? You obviously wanted to see this. Why not look at it?”

“Just leave it, Andrei.” Devin growled. Dammit, why couldn’t he just look? He knew why. Devin balled his fists. Because if he saw that name he’d know for
damn sure Andrei had ruined his life. Everything he’d seen over the past few weeks from Andrei would mean nothing. “Put it back.”

Andrei shook his head. “No. You came down here to see my list. Now look at it!” Andrei snarled. “I have told you who I am, what I do. I make no excuses, Agent Lyons. You seem to think I have not been honest, so by all means, look at what I have done.”

  “Back off, Panchenko,” Devin warned.

“Why come all this way only to stop with the Holy Grail in your hand?” Andrei tilted his head, regarding Devin. “You do not want to know. Do you?”

“I said back off.” Devin locked eyes with Andrei. That was his biggest mistake. Andrei’s eyes looked sad. Son of a bitch. Devin took the notebook and threw it across the room. “It doesn’t matter what that says, I know who you are. A ruthless, sadistic killer. I don’t need to be reminded with a list of your victims.”

“If that is true,” Andrei crossed the room and picked up the notebook. “Then read it from page one to the end. This is who I am.” Andrei shook the notebook. “I protect my family above all else. Those who need to pay will.”

“So now you’re judge and jury?”

“And you are not!?” Andrei shouted. “Let us not pretend you have never spilled a drop of blood, Agent Lyons!”

Devin came out from behind the desk and slammed Andrei into the wall.

“I have a fucking excuse. I’m not right in the head,” Devin seethed. He leaned into Andrei’s face. The pupils overtook all the color in Andrei’s grey eyes. His mouth was partially open and his cock was outlined perfectly in his sweat pants. Devin grinned, letting his hand slide up Andrei’s side. He tweaked a nipple and smiled when Andrei growled low in his throat.

“I turn you on, don’t I? You like it rough.”

“Get off of me right now.” Andrei’s face heated as Devin leaned into his ear. Warm breath tickled his earlobe.

“Oh yeah, I turn you on.” Devin bit the soft flesh of Andrei’s ear. “You want me, don’t you? You want me to fuck you on your own desk.”

“I think you want to fuck me on my desk.” Andrei pushed Devin away from him. “Let us not forget who kissed whom in the workout room.”

  Devin bristled and stepped away.

  Andrei smiled sadistically.

“Oh yes, Agent. You find me attractive, and it bothers you to no end that you want your cock in my tight ass.” Andrei caught Devin’s fist before it hit him. He swung Devin into the wall and pushed his face into it. Holding Devin’s hands above his head with one hand, Andrei let the other one slide down into Devin’s boxers. A warm, moist head surrounded his fingers and he jerked Devin’s cock slowly.

“All wet,” Andrei leaned into Devin’s ear. “Look at how much you want me. Your cock is leaking.”

Devin bit back a groan. Goddamn cock was betraying him. His hips were thrusting into Andrei’s hand without his knowledge and the Russian mob boss was grinding his cock in Devin’s ass. His orgasm was building and Devin realized he’d lost control of the situation. But fuck did it feel so fucking good. Andrei’s warm breath and lips were kissing his shoulders and neck as his hand continued the erotic pull on his dick.

“Let me go. Right now, Panchenko.” The hand on his cock eased back and slowly slid out of his boxers. Devin took a deep breath and turned to face Andrei. “I will never want you. My cock doesn’t know any better, my head does.” Devin righted himself and walked to the office door. “Truth is - you disgust me.” Devin walked out, slamming the door behind him.

Andrei sat on the floor and looked at the notebook. He picked it up and threw it across the room.

Devin made it down the hall on wobbly legs, cursing himself relentlessly. What the fuck had he been thinking? He’d allowed Andrei too close, way too close. The worst part? He swore he saw hurt in Andrei Panchenko’s eyes.

Morning had come way too soon for Chris. He’d drank too much and fucked Dimitri all night. Well, they took turns fucking each other. Now he watched his best friend packing his bag. Andrei was shoving in his clothes any way they could fit all while mumbling curse words in Russian. Chris grabbed Andrei’s hand and stopped him.

  “Talk to me.”

“I have no idea why that man hates me so much! It bothers me to no end.” Andrei sighed in frustration. “I have feelings for him. I have been nothing but truthful.”

“Look, no matter what Lyons says, he cares about you. This isn’t just a job, Andrei. I can see it on his face and so can Dimitri.”

“Speaking of Dimitri, where is he?”

“Packing us up. I’ll meet you in Paris for the benefit.” Chris took Andrei in his arms and hugged him hard. “Believe me - Agent Devin Lyons has feelings for you.”

Andrei stood outside in the driveway as Chris and Dimitri left. He felt alone again. Turning towards the house, he looked up to see Devin in the window upstairs, watching him. As soon as they made eye contact, Devin moved away from the window. Andrei sighed and made his way to the gazebo. It was slightly chilly and Andrei wrapped his sweater more tightly around himself. He’d never lied about his life, never tried to make excuses for it. Andrei ran his hands over his face. Why was this bothering him so much? For once in his life, Andrei felt guilt over what he’d done in his past, because it was keeping away the one man he wanted.

  ~*~

The next two days, Andrei stayed busy. They had landed in Paris with no issues and were now staying at a castle. Andrei had to smile; he’d always wanted to see a castle in France and had finally gotten the chance to do so. Granted, it was a hotel, but it was still a castle. Devin had been professional to the core. They didn’t speak unless they had to. Andrei sighed and laid his head on the desk. Why was Agent Lyons getting to him? Andrei glanced at Lyons out of the corner of his eye. The man was standing at the door in guard stance, hands behind his back, not saying a word. Andrei looked closer and saw a line of sweat beading on Lyons’ forehead.

“Are you nervous?” Andrei asked, concerned.

“No? Why?” Devin felt the floor shifting and put his hand on the wall. “Is it hot in here?”

“No.” Andrei rose from the desk and crossed the room to Lyons. He put his hand up and Devin growled at him. Andrei rolled his eyes and placed his hand on Lyons’ forehead.

  “You are burning up.”

“I’m fine.” Devin swatted Andrei’s hand away.

“No, you are not.” Devin’s eyes were glazed over. “What did you eat?”

“Nothing I haven’t had before,” Devin felt the bile rising in his throat. “Oh shit.” The room spun and Devin lost his footing.

“Ivan!” Andrei shouted as Lyons fell into his arms.

The door flew open and Ivan flew into the room with Viktor.

“What is it!?” Ivan’s eyes zeroed in on Lyons. “Did you finally kill him?”

“No!” Andrei shouted. “Something is wrong with him!”

“Viktor, get a doctor.” Ivan took Lyons from Andrei. “Let’s get him to a bed.”

  ~*~

Andrei sat next to the bed as Devin moaned and thrashed about. His fever was spiking and a doctor had come to check up on him. Lyons had the flu - a very bad case of the flu. He was soaked with sweat as the fever ravaged him.

“Make sure he gets plenty of fluids, Mr. Panchenko. It should right itself in a few days.”

“Is there nothing that can be done?” Andrei held Devin’s hand.

“It must run its course. He will be fine if you keep him hydrated.”

The doctor left and Ivan closed the door. Andrei sat on Lyons’ bed holding his hand and pushing the sweaty hair from his brow. The way Andrei looked at the agent spoke volumes.

“Andrei, you may get sick if you stay,” Ivan warned.

“Then I will get sick.” Andrei looked over his shoulder. “I will take care of him.”

Ivan nodded. “If you need anything—”

“I will call.” Andrei took the cool washcloth from the basin and applied it to
Devin’s forehead. He heard the door shut behind him and ran the back of his fingers over Devin’s smooth cheek.

  “I won’t leave,” Andrei whispered.

For two days Devin was wracked with fever and Andrei never left his side. He was awakened in the middle of the night by Devin’s mumbling. He got more cool water and took his place on the bed again. He reached out to apply the washcloth to Devin’s forehead and Devin grabbed his wrist.

“I thought you were a good guy,” Devin mumbled, his eyes half opened. “But you turned out to be just like them.”

“What are you saying, Devin?” Andrei leaned in closer. “Why am I just like them?”

“You pretend to care, but then your true colors emerge. I thought you were beautiful,” Devin sighed. “But you are a cold-blooded killer.”

“Who is a cold blooded killer? Who is beautiful?” Andrei whispered.

“Panchenko,” Devin growled. “I thought I saw something good, but I was wrong. He’s just like them! Don’t turn your back on him!”

Andrei caressed Devin’s face softly. “I would never hurt you, Devin.”

  “You already did.”

Andrei almost didn’t hear it. It was a whimpered whisper and Andrei felt his heart aching.

“How? How did I hurt you?” Andrei strained to hear Devin’s words, but couldn’t make them out. He stood to get Devin more aspirin and a hand clutched his shirt.

  “Don’t leave me, please.”

Andrei sat back down and took Devin’s hands, kissing the knuckles. “I won’t leave, I promise.” Andrei brought Devin’s hand to his cheek. “I will stay right here.” Andrei smiled as Devin’s eyes opened. “Are you all right?”

“God, you look so damn gorgeous. The first time I saw you…I felt again. I hadn’t felt anything for a long time, didn’t care who died or how.” Devin closed his eyes and sighed. “And then there you were.”

“When did you see me?” Andrei whispered.
