Good Luck Charm: A Single Mother Romance Page 17

by Weston Parker

  “I took a wild guess,” I admitted.

The parade started a short ten minutes later. Music filled the square. Children laughed and whispered, and parents craned their necks to peer over the heads of other parents to report back to their shorter children that the parade was on its way. Kids begged to be lifted on their fathers’ shoulders but were told to wait until the parade was closer for the sake of their fathers’ backs.

I wondered very suddenly if Senna and Lily wished they were with Lily’s father at this moment instead of me.

It was an almost sobering thought.

It made sense that they would rather be with the man who completed their family, didn’t it? Not me. The guy who was trying to tear down something Senna had poured her soul into.

The music faded away in my mind as my thoughts focused on Senna and what her reality was actually like.

Where was Lily’s father? Why hadn’t I thought to ask about him sooner? Why had it only occurred to me now that an integral piece of their unit was missing?

  I shook my head.

You haven’t changed. You’re still the same self-absorbed guy you’ve always been. This is about you. It’s always about you.

“Are you all right, Zach?” Senna’s voice cut through my thoughts.

  I lifted my head. “Sorry?”

She was looking at me over the top of Lily’s head. The straw of her drink was pressed to her lower lip. She took a small sip. I liked how her lips sealed around the straw. “Are you all right?”

“Oh,” I said before nodding and popping a donut in my mouth to buy myself time before answering. I swallowed. “Yeah, I’m great. Just… taking it all in.”

Senna reached around behind Lily’s back and put her hand on my shoulder. “Me too,” she said softly.

It was a kind, affectionate touch, the sort of touch I hadn’t felt in quite some time.

The music was suddenly louder. Lily sprang to her feet, sending the sugar from the donut bag all over the place. “They’re coming!”

Senna and I remained sitting so the people behind us could see. But we leaned forward, turning our heads to the side to peer down the street at the dancers that were leading the parade. They were dressed in dazzling costumes of glitter and feathers, all in bright colors that were dizzying to the eye as they spun and twirled and leapt in the air, leading the charge as a massive float followed behind them.

Upon the float were Mickey and Minnie. They kicked off the parade, and over the next half hour, we were dazzled with dances and tricks and illusions as nearly every Disney character passed by.

Lily squealed with excitement every time a princess waved at her, and Senna smiled bigger than I’d ever seen her as she watched Lily more than she watched the parade.

I found myself doing the same. I was much more caught up in the view of the two girls at my side than that of the show passing us. The look in their eyes was far more magical than the swishing skirts of the dancers or the splendor of the floats.

I wanted to wrap my arm around them both and hold them to my side. I wanted to know what it felt like to cherish something that was more important than a paycheck or a promotion. I wanted to feel something real.

When the parade ended, children took to the street to dance and play and chase each other. Lily brushed herself off and crumpled her donut bag into a tiny ball before looking around for a garbage can.

The donuts hadn’t filled me up. I was still hungry. I suggested we pick a place to eat along the street, and both Lily and Senna jumped at the idea. We walked down the street, checking menus posted outside restaurants, and finally settled on a place that was lively and, like everywhere else in the park, full of Disney characters.

We were served our meals by Cinderella and serenaded by Snow White.

By the time we finished eating, Lily was unable to stop herself from yawning.

“I think maybe it’s time to call it a night,” Senna said.

We made our way out of the restaurant and back onto the street. The park was a lot less busy now, and twilight had darkened into full night. Stars twinkled above. The warm light glowing in all the windows of the shops, cafes, and restaurants, along with the music playing on the street, made it feel like we were in another world entirely.

  A fairytale world.

Lily frowned. “But there’s still so much to see, Momma.”

I raked my fingers through my hair and took a deep breath of evening air. “We still have two full days, kiddo. We can get an early start tomorrow and start at whatever part of the park you want to see first. How does that sound?”

Lily covered her mouth as she yawned again. “Okay.”

I led them to our hotel. We were staying at the Disney World Resort Hotel within the park. It wasn’t a far walk, and when we got up in the morning, we wouldn’t have to waste any time getting to the park. We’d already be there.

I checked us in at the front desk when we arrived, and Senna scooped Lily up in her arms. The little girl hugged her mother and rested her cheek on her shoulder. Her eyes were closed, and I wondered if what people said about kids being able to sleep anywhere when they were this tired was true.

Lily was asleep by the time we got on the elevator, which proved that it was.

We rode silently up to the top floor, got off, and made our way down the hall to the far-corner units that were side by side. I handed Senna her room key, which she slid through the slot. A little light turned green, and the deadbolt slid out of the lock. She let herself in and smiled at me. “I’m just going to put her to bed.”

“All right,” I said, trying not to read too much into what she’d said.

I went into my room. The accommodations were excellent. Big bay windows opened up onto a balcony that overlooked the park. A jet tub sat in the middle of the bathroom, and the king-sized bed was covered in fluffy white bedding and a dozen pillows.

My suitcase was sitting on the foot of the bed. I opened it up, grabbed my toiletry bag, and brushed my teeth. Then as I was about to turn on the TV to unwind for a bit, there was a knock on the door that joined my room to Senna’s.

I’d completely forgotten it was there.

I rolled off the bed and opened the door. Senna was standing there with a sheepish smile and pink cheeks, and she clasped her hands in front of herself before turning a shoulder to look back at Lily, who was nothing but a mound of blankets on one of the two beds in her room.

“She’ll be out all night,” Senna said.

  “She had a long day.”

  “Mhm.”

We stood there looking at each other, and then Senna slipped past me and pushed the door closed behind her.

“Do you want to share a drink?” I asked. “There might be wine in the mini fridge.” I moved toward the fridge under the television set and tugged it open. “Let’s see. Yes, a mini bottle of white, a mini bottle of champagne. Oh, and look. Some cute little bottles of tequila. It’s almost like we’re in Mexico not Disney World, huh?” I chuckled and looked back over my shoulder at her.

Senna didn’t have her shirt on anymore. It was pinched between her fingers and dangling by her side. She let it fall to the floor. “I was thinking we could do something else.”

  Chapter 28

  Senna

I loved how Zach looked at me as I let the shirt slip from my fingertips.

His gaze wandered down as I popped open the button of my jeans and slowly pulled the zipper down to wiggle my hips and pull the jeans down over my legs. I stepped out of them and nudged them and my shirt aside, now standing before him in nothing but my bra and panties.

  They didn’t match.

My thong was a fluorescent-green color, lace, and decorated with a pink ribbon in the front with a little silver heart dangling from the middle. They were on sale, so I’d purchased them. Not because I loved them.

My bra was white. Nothing fancy. Just a T-shirt bra with high cups, a comfortable band, and three heavy duty clips at the back. It was made for comfort.

Both pieces were the sort of things that I wore because they were comfortable and affordable, not because I felt cute in them. They were items that I never intended for a man to see me in like this.

But the way he looked at me made me feel like I was wearing a sexy, skin-tight, boob-lifting, waist-slimming, ass-enhancing bodycon piece of lingerie.

I ran my hands over my hips and turned in a slow circle. I lifted my arms above my head and snaked my fingers through my hair while I arched my back to really give him a show. Then I looked back at him.

He was still lost in the sight of me.

“Are you just going to stand there?” I asked.

Zach swallowed. “I didn’t expect this.”

  “I didn’t either. But I want it.”

Zach kicked the fridge closed. All the bottles inside jingled with the force of it, and he winced.

  I giggled. “Come here.”

  He moved toward me.

I’d spent the entire day trying to push the thought of having sex with Zach out of my mind. But every time I succeeded, it crept back in with a vengeance, leaving me all hot and bothered and grasping at straws to try to keep it together.

I was in Disney World, for crying out loud. It was not the place to be so horny. But I wasn’t in control. Not around him. He did something to me that I couldn’t explain, and I was done trying to resist it.

Edith was right. I needed to let loose and let people in. This was my chance.

He stood in front of me. I could smell the musk of his pine-scented cologne as he let his gaze wander all over my body. Then he reached out, slipped a finger under my bra strap, and nudged it off my shoulder. He did the same with the other side before moving the hand under my chin to lift my face toward his so he could place a sweet, soft kiss upon my lips.

I slid my hands up inside his shirt. I traced every lean muscle with my fingers as I worked my way up to his chest. He reached around and unclipped my bra. I dropped my arms, and it fell to the floor between us as the kiss deepened and he pushed his tongue into my mouth.

Zach wrapped his arms around me and turned me around. He walked me back until my knees hit the bed, and then he pushed me down onto my back. We never broke our kiss, and he followed me down to the bed, caging me beneath his body and planting a knee between my thighs.

I held his face in my hands. He ran a hand up my hip and then tugged my panties down just far enough to get his hand to the apex of my thighs.

This time, foreplay was not off the table. My body ached for his touch, and when it finally happened, I sighed with pleasure and melted deeper into the mattress.

He rolled his finger over my clit. He was gentle, and his touch was soft. The long strokes he spoiled me with had my breathing quickening rapidly.

Hooking both arms around his neck, I lifted my hips, encouraging him to push me further, to ask more from me. I could give it. Oh God, do I want to give it.

Zach obliged. He ran his finger down from my clit to my aching pussy, and slid it inside me, replacing his finger with his thumb over my clit as he kissed away from my lips and down my jaw and throat. I stayed where I was as he continued downward, trailing his lips along my stomach, around my navel, and down farther still until his thumb was in his own way and he flicked his tongue across my swollen clit.

“Oh,” I breathed, flinching under the quick succession of his licks.

His finger still moved in and out of me, and he used his other hand to yank my panties down farther. My hips rolled of their own volition when he drew my clit between his lips and suckled softly while he eased another finger inside me.

My entire body thrummed with pleasure.

How had I managed to refrain from sex for so long when it felt so damn good?

Because it never felt this good. Not with anyone.

I gripped the sheets on either side of me when the intensity of his licking and thrusting became too much. My toes curled, and my thighs trembled, and he pinned them down with his elbows, which pushed into my muscles forcefully. The pain was dull and welcomed.

I reached down and plunged my fingers into his hair. I was about to come, and I didn’t want him to stop. It felt too good. Just right.

“Yes,” I moaned, rolling my hips again, feeling his tongue slip between my folds and then back up to circle my clit and dance across it in teasing flicks. “Please. Don’t stop.”

Zach kept going. My muscles strained so hard my ass started to cramp and so did my calves. I tried to relax, but I was powerless to the building of pressure in my core. Every lick and thrust brought me closer to the edge until all at once, stars exploded behind my eyelids, and a great wave of ecstasy rippled through me.

I relaxed and let it take me. Zach groaned. His face was still buried between my legs as he lapped at my juices, and I loosened the grip I’d forgotten I had in his hair.

He straightened up and braced himself above me. “I didn’t think you would ever let me taste you.”

  I blushed. “Shut up.”

  He grinned, lips glistening. “Why?”

“Just—shut up,” I breathed, grabbing the front of his shirt and pulling him down on top of me to kiss him. His hands roamed all over me, and I struggled to pull his shirt off over his head. His skin was hot against mine. I fumbled to get his pants undone and then pushed them down to his thighs, along with his boxers.

He chuckled before leaning to the side and rolling off the bed to strip completely naked. I followed his retreat and swung my legs over the bed. The floor was cold on my toes as I slid off, pressing my back against the side of the mattress as I went to my knees in front of him.

He stared down at me like he couldn’t quite believe what was happening. Had someone told me I’d be itching to suck him off just a week ago, I would have told them to fuck off.

But there I was, salivating for his cock inches from my face as he gripped his shaft and worked himself over.

I licked my lips, gazed up into his dark eyes, and leaned in.

I parted my lips and rolled my tongue against his tip. He groaned above me, and the sound sent pins and needles of desire through me. I forgot the ache in my knees on the hardwood as I took him into my mouth, easing him all the way to the back of my throat and holding him there for as long as I could as more saliva built up around his shaft.

Then I pulled out and went back, repeating this motion while I held his gaze and reveled in just how exquisite he was.

Zach was the sort of man artists could carve statues of. He was the perfect specimen, and in that moment, he was mine. I wanted to make him feel good, just for a little while.

I worshipped his cock until he couldn’t handle it any longer. Before he cracked, he grabbed me by the upper arm and pulled me to my feet. Then he spun me around and jerked me back against his chest, holding me in place while pressing his lips to my neck just below my ear. “You’re a bad girl.”

I rubbed my ass against his cock. “What are you going to do about it, tough guy?”

He chuckled. His breath on my neck gave me chills. “Whatever the fuck I want.”

Wetness pooled between my legs. Good lord. It was criminal how much he turned me on.

He put his free hand between my shoulder blades and shoved me. I pitched forward onto my elbows on the bed, and he slapped my ass—hard. I yelped and then covered my mouth as I looked back at him. He wound up and slapped me again, and holy hell, did it feel good. I wiggled my ass, and he grabbed a handful and squeezed.

  “Don’t move,” he said.

I had no reason to move. I stayed where I was, bent over the bed, as he went to his suitcase beside me and rummaged around until he found a condom. He pinched it between his teeth, moved the suitcase to the floor, and then took his pants off all the way. His boxers followed. Lastly, he took off his glasses, folded in the arms, and set them on top of his suitcase.

I watched him over my shoulder, lying flat on my belly as he stepped up behind me and tore open the condom wrapper with his teeth. Then h
e rolled it on, discarded the wrapper, and moved my legs apart. He dropped his hips, planted his hands on either side of my waist, and entered me with far less concern for being gentle than he had last time.

And that was a damn good thing.

I didn’t want him to be gentle. I was too aroused for vanilla sex. I wanted deep, hard, fast sex.

Apparently, he wanted the same thing because as soon as he realized just how wet and ready I was, he fucked me harder, plunging in and out without reprieve until I buried my face in the bedding and let out a cry of pleasure as I came.

He grabbed my ass again, pulled my cheeks apart, and then buried himself deep inside me.

  “Fuck,” he growled.

  “Harder,” I pleaded.

Zach grabbed my hips and fucked me harder. I moaned into the bedding.

His thrusts grew wilder, and I muffled another cry as he came undone and climaxed with me, easing to a stop and eventually pulling out of me.

I climbed up on the bed and rolled onto my back. He went into the bathroom to clean up.

I stared at the ceiling fan turning a lazy circle. My heart pounded, my pulse ringing in my ears and fluttering at my wrists.

Zach returned from the bathroom, and I rolled off the bed to collect my clothes. I got dressed, and he watched and put his boxers on.

“I’ll see you in the morning?” I asked.

Zach nodded. “Yeah. Have a good sleep.”

I wanted to kiss him before I returned to my room, but now that the moment of passion was over, it felt odd. It felt like the sort of thing lovers did. And we were not lovers. We were connected through business, and we just happened to be fucking.

At least, that was what I told myself as I slipped back into my room and locked the adjoining door behind me.

  Chapter 29

  Zach

The last three days I’d spent at Disney with Senna and Lily were some of the best of my entire life, and I told Senna so at dinner on our last night at the hotel. We were sitting on the balcony of the restaurant, each of us sipping a glass of white wine while Lily colored in a picture from one of her favorite Disney movies.
