He faced me and crossed his arms, a grin playing across his lips. “Oh yeah. And there’ll be drinking?”

  “Afterward.” I shrugged. “Most likely.”

  “Need a coach.”

I snorted. “We’re not that serious. Just a workout.” I opened another box, then straightened. “Hey, did you know that the head of the Tiny Mites left me a message?”

“Sarin? He was asking me if you knew how to skate.”

“He was wondering if I could help out with all the new skaters.”

  “Are you going to?”

Planting a hand on my hip, I looked around the living room, at the pile of boxes and the handsome man with his arms crossed by the mantel. I’d never have pictured my life changing this much. I was still selling houses, but I had my “bridge” group. I’d made connections.

“Yeah, I think it’d be fun. They’re so cute when they’re spilling all over the ice like their helmets weigh a metric ton. Laurie said she might do it too.”

“Good. You can tell me what talent I’ve got coming my way in ten years.” He checked the time on his fitness watch. “Wanna break in the bedroom before the kids are done with school?”

I sauntered closer to him. “The bedroom, Hayden? I think we need to rendezvous in the mudroom-slash-laundry room to really come full circle.”

He sighed, but shot me a grin as he swept me off my feet. “Right as always.”
