The next day Blastion called John Martin, “What did you think about the journals?”
“How do you know I have finished reading them?” John Martin replied.
Blastion smiled, “I know you finished them, just like I had to.”
John Martin smiled back at his old friend, “I think they should be published so everyone will know what happened to Queen Rebekka.”
“Do you think it is safe for the rebels and Rebekka to let this information go public?” Blastion asked.
John Martin replied, “You read for yourself that Layton Teal was killed. I think releasing the information this many years into the future will be safe.”
Blastion nodded, “I must see Dr. Groller first. He needs to know what I intend to do. The university will have the original journals, so he will receive the credit for finding them.”
It was a crisp fall morning as Blastion Astmos stood south of the restored castle in the middle of the valley. From the journals he had discovered where the graves of Rebekka and Adriell most likely were. He stood still for a while contemplating before he finally spoke aloud.
“I am relieved to know that both of you had a wonderful life, but I still miss you. It seems like only yesterday that you left us. Adriell, my niece, I miss you the most.”
In his hand he held two white roses which he placed on the ground and thought; will anyone place a white rose on my grave when I go the way of all the earth? I hope it will be so....
