With Us (Next Generation Book 2)

“I know,” I whispered. Normally calm and collected, it took everything in me not to shove him away. We never talked about taking our relationship to the next level. I wasn’t sure why. We had agreed in the beginning after Shade had been hurt by his ex, we would just share women and that was it. But something changed tonight. And I wasn’t sure if it was for the better or worse.
“We will have her,” Shade said, his voice final.
“I know. Fuck man, I know.” I raked a hand through my short hair, noticing the way it had grown in some. I needed a haircut.
“You saw the way she was with you,” Shade pointed out. “With me. She’s feisty as hell.”
“I’d like to see her in a dominating role,” I blurted. Was that what I really wanted? “See if she can handle it.” Apparently so.
“I’d fucking submit to her and I don’t care if it makes me look like a pussy.”
“Submission does not make you look like a pussy, Shade,” I snapped. “How many times do I have to remind you of that?”
“Shit. I didn’t mean it like that.”
“You’re still so damn new.” We had gone to a couple of BDSM clubs and decided to implement that lifestyle into our daily lives, but Shade was still learning.
“I’ve been doing this for a couple of years now,” he liked to point out from time to time.
“You can do this, as you say, for your whole life and still not know everything,” I reminded him.
“Sunny, I need to feel something other than my fucking palm and I know she will be what I need. What we both need.”
“I know.” Just as I was about to push away from the wall and head back inside the bar, the very reason Shade and I were on edge, walked up to us.
Meadow lifted her hand, giving us a small wave. Her curvy hips sashayed from side to side. Her soft curls fell down around her face. That dress, that damn white dress, hugged her curves and made me want to weep like a baby. My cock hardened, pushing against my jeans and begging to come out and play.
She tilted her head to the side, giving me a small smirk. “Are we having a party?” she asked, looking between Shade and I.
“Just out for a smoke,” Shade told her, holding the pack out to her.
She shook her head. “Don’t smoke but thank you. Now if you have weed, I’m down for that.”
“Maybe later,” he said, his eyes traveling down the length of her.
“What are you doing out this late?” I asked, interrupting my partner’s eye-fucking.
Meadow raised an eyebrow. “I never did get your names,” she said, not answering my question.
“What did you put us in your phone as then?” I could have sworn I gave her our names.
“I put you in as Hottie One and him as Hottie Two,” Meadow said, like it was no big deal. No blush coated her skin. No hint of amusement danced in her eyes. She was straight up honest and I found I could appreciate that.
I held out my hand. “Sunny Harrison.”
She grinned, slipping her small hand in mine. “Meadow Rodriguez.” Her grip was firm. “Sunny? Really?”
“My parents were hippies,” I explained.
“And how about you, baby boy?” she asked Shade, licking her lips.
He coughed, shifting his weight to his other foot. “Roy Allen but I go by Shade.”
“Oh I like it.” She looked between us both. “Sunny and Shade.”
I chuckled. “It works.”
“So how did you get the nickname Shade?”
Shade’s eyes flicked to mine. Something flashed behind them before he looked back down at her. I couldn’t make out what it was, but it was something that I wasn’t ready for. That neither of us was ready for. But I had a feeling that no matter what, we would find out what that was and there would be no going back from it.
“I met Sunny when we were both prospects for Hell’s Harlem. We clicked and bonded over that, so we’ve been best friends ever since. We were inseparable, so the guys nicknamed me Shade and it stuck.” He shrugged like it was no big deal.
But it was. Because we were more than best friends. It was hard to explain to people, so that was the reason we always gave them.
“Interesting.” Meadow walked between us and headed to the door of the bar. “I want a beer. You guys coming?” She disappeared inside, not waiting for us to follow.
When Shade went to walk past me, I grabbed his arm.
He staggered a bit. “What?”
“Best friends? Really?” I knew I should have kept my mouth shut but I was never known to keep my thoughts to myself.
“What did you want me to say to her, Sunny? That we have a platonic relationship and the only physical contact we have with each other is when a warm body is between us? Come on. That would scare her away and we haven’t even done anything yet.” He pulled from my grip and took a step away, but I grabbed his arm again.
“You know this is more than that,” I told him.
“Yeah?” He raised an eyebrow. “Prove it.”
“Shade.” I gripped his arm tighter. How the hell was I supposed to prove anything to him when I had no idea what it was that I was supposed to prove in the first place?
Shade turned back around to face me. He pulled from my grip and in a quick move, shoved me up against the wall. “Like I said, Sunny.” He leaned toward my ear, his hot breath fanning the side of my face. “Prove it.” He released me roughly and stomped into the bar.
I shivered, pushed a hand through my hair, and dropped it to my side with a huff. I hated that he was right.
Heading into the bar, I found him sitting with Meadow at one of the booths. Jaron was nowhere to be found. Other patrons chatted quietly amongst themselves but all I could focus on was Shade and Meadow.
Someone new. Fresh. Young.
And someone else who I had known for over fifteen years. Shade was more than my best friend. He was my life. I just had no idea how to tell him that.
Meadow
SUNNY AND SHADE JOINED me at the booth, but something was off with them. Sunny had a scowl on his face while Shade kept glaring daggers at him. Almost as if he were challenging him in a way. Were they an actual couple? They didn’t act like it, but the way Shade looked at him made me wonder if there was something more there than they both let on. I had questions I wanted to ask but knew when to keep my mouth shut. As much as I usually voiced my opinion, I knew that this was not one of those times where I should say whatever was on my mind. No matter how much it was driving me crazy.
“Everything good?” I asked when Sunny sat beside me.
He glanced across the table, narrowing his brows at Shade. “Yup.”
Shade crossed his arms under his chest. “What are you having, Meadow?”
“Just a beer please.” I pulled my phone from my bag and texted Piper, letting her know that I was at the bar and I was safe. Didn’t need her worrying to the point she showed up and ruined what little chances I had of having some fun.
“Want anything, Sunny?” Shade asked.
“Beer,” Sunny grunted.
Shade nodded, left the booth, and headed to the bar.
“Not that it’s any of my business, but what’s going on?” I asked Sunny once we were alone. Looked like I didn’t keep that promise to myself for long.
“It’s…complicated.” Sunny huffed, staring after Shade.
“Oh…well…” I turned my body toward him, lifting my knee and resting it on the bench beneath me.
Sunny peered down at me. His nostrils flared. He shook himself, averting his gaze. “You’re something else, pet.”
My stomach tumbled at the term of endearment. “Is that good or bad?”
He met my gaze. “Why would you think it was bad?”
I shrugged. “I know I can be a little much sometimes.”
Sunny pinched my chin, tilted my head back, and searched my face. “Don’t change for anyone, you hear me? I’ve been around long enough to know that only your true friends won’t give a shit what you do,
what you say, or who you’re with. As long as you are fucking happy, they shouldn’t care. Understand me?”
I nodded.
“I asked you a question,” he said, his voice firm.
Desire coiled in the pit of my stomach at the deep vibrato of his voice. “Yes.” I licked my dry lips. “Sir.”
A cocky grin pulled at his lips. “I like the sound of that word on your tongue, Meadow.”
I laughed. “Of course you would. I’m sure most men would like being called Sir.”
He chuckled. “Probably.”
Shade came back at that moment with a pitcher of beer and three glasses. “Jaron texted me and said that he’s at the motel. He’s calling it a night.”
“Probably had too much sex and it wore him out,” I said, pouring each of us a beer.
“How do you know he had sex?” Sunny asked, taking the glass from me after I filled it to the top.
“Both him and Piper disappeared. I put two and two together. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know that there’s something there,” I explained.
“Well it’s none of our business but I happen to agree.” Shade took a sip of his beer.
“You do?” Sunny rested his arm across my lap, his thumb brushing back and forth over my knee.
“I do.” Shade shrugged. His eyes flicked to somewhere beside Sunny. A dark shadow passed over his face. “Fuck me,” he growled.
“What?” Sunny followed his gaze. “Shit.” His head whipped back around. “Move beside her.”
“What’s going on?” I asked as Shade slid closer to me. But before he could answer, three men, large fucking men, dressed in leather cuts, joined us at the booth.
One man, with a long black ponytail, sat in the booth as another sat beside him. He was younger but had an air of authority around him. A patch saying President sat on the left breast of his cut. He stared at me. His sapphire orbs twinkled. The other man stood with his arms crossed, probably making sure none of us bolted.
“What do you want, Tanner?” Sunny demanded, his body stiff.
“I heard you were in the area,” the man, Tanner, with the deepest blue eyes I had ever seen, said.
“It’s a free country,” Shade answered, inching closer to me. He rested his arm across my lap alongside Sunny’s.
Under normal circumstances, I was sure anyone would feel smothered by these two big men but right now, I didn’t care. I was the only female surrounded by bikers. I put on a brave face and came to the bar, hoping to run into Sunny and Shade again because I wanted them. Both of them. But even I knew when to be cautious. And clearly with the way Sunny and Shade were with me, they were protecting me as much as they could.
“Is it really?” Tanner sat back in the booth, his dark blue eyes meeting mine. “We haven’t been introduced.” His gaze dropped to my chest. “Are you sharing?” he asked Sunny and Shade.
My skin crawled, bile rising to my throat.
“Fuck,” Shade muttered.
“Listen, whatever you came here for, take it and leave.” Sunny sat forward, shielding me from the other man standing beside the table.
“Aww. No need to be rude.” Tanner stuck his hand out. “Tanner Horsch. President of Satan’s Rejects.”
A part of me wanted to keep my hand back but another part thought it would be better to be polite. I lifted my hand and went to return the handshake when Sunny stopped me. The move had been so quick, I never even saw it coming.
“What the fuck do you want?” Sunny kept my hand in his, holding it on my lap.
Tanner chuckled. “Tell your president that I’ll be stopping by.” He knuckle-rapped the top of the table and motioned to his men. When he stood from the booth, he paused, staring down at us. His gaze landed directly on me. “I’m sure I’ll be seeing you around, little one.” He looked at Sunny. “You should bring her by the club sometime. I’m sure I could get a lot of money off of her.”
Before I could think twice about it, a laugh escaped me.
Tanner raised an eyebrow. “Something funny?”
“You’d probably have a better chance of getting women to do things for you if you weren’t such a domineering asshole,” I blurted.
Shade softly chuckled.
Sunny’s head whipped around.
I swallowed hard, but I refused to back down. I wasn’t letting this fucker scare me. I was raised better than that.
“Yeah you should definitely bring her by,” Tanner finally said. “Then I can show her how I shut up my girls who speak out of line.”
Sunny moved to get up when I grabbed his arm, stopping him.
Tanner and his men left, their laughter following along behind them.
“What the fuck was that, Meadow?” Sunny demanded when we were finally alone.
“The guy’s an asshole.” I crossed my arms under my chest. “I wasn’t letting him get to me.”
“Fuck.” Sunny raked a hand through his hair. “You need to learn not to say every damn thing that’s on your mind, pet.”
“You don’t know me.” I glared at him. “How the hell do you know that I always say what’s on my mind?”
His jaw ticked.
“He’s right.” Shade pinched my chin, forcing me to look up at him before Sunny could answer me. “Tanner’s crew isn’t like ours. They don’t treat their women with respect. They do anything to make a name for themselves. They want people to fear them. They get off on it.”
“He doesn’t scare me.” But he did. And that pissed me off.
“He should scare you.” Shade brushed his thumb along my bottom lip.
I shivered at the soft contact.
“Hmm…” His gaze dropped to my mouth. “I could get used to this.”
“Used to what?” I breathed.
“Touching you.” He placed a soft peck on my forehead before releasing me.
I sighed, going back to my beer. “You mad at me?” I asked Sunny, lifting the glass to my lips.
“Depends.” He leaned down to my ear. “I think you should make it up to me.”
“Hmm…” I turned my head, our mouths mere inches apart. “How should I make it up to you?”
“I can think of many ways, Meadow.” He cupped my knee, his fingers digging into my flesh.
“Did it piss you off when he threatened me?” My hands itched to reach out to him. To cup his face. To feel him against me. To run them over every inch of him.
“More than I could ever tell you,” he grumbled, pulling away from me.
My heart stuttered at his confession. “Did it piss you off too?” I asked Shade.
His jade eyes darkened but instead of answering, he slid out from the other side of the booth. “Finish your beer. We need to go.”
Sunny did the same and left the bench, leaving me alone at the table. Both men looked down at me.
“We really need to go,” Sunny added.
My stomach flipped. I downed the beer, finishing it quickly like they demanded.
Was this it? Would my fantasy finally come true? I still had so many questions but for now, I was going to enjoy the rest of this night and let these men do whatever it was they wanted to do to me.
Sunny
TANNER HORSCH PISSED ME off. Always had. Probably always would. He was your stereotypical biker and he made us good guys, look bad. I especially didn’t like the way he looked at Meadow and every male instinct inside of me wanted to take it out on her. It wasn’t her fault. She was beautiful. Tanner would be a fool not to notice. But it didn’t mean I wanted to punish her any less.
“Does he always have that scowl on his face?” Meadow asked, pulling me from my thoughts.
As soon as she stood from the booth, I grabbed her arm and pulled her against me.
She gasped, slapping her hands against my chest.
With her body pressed up against me, my dick lengthened between us.
Her pupils dilated, no doubt feeling just how hard she made me.
Wrapping a hand around her throat, I ran my thumb a
long her jugular.
She swallowed hard.
I grinned, reveling in the nervous energy coming off of her.
“I’d be very careful what you say to the men you’re spending the night with,” I murmured, running my lips along the length of her slender throat.
“Oh?” She gripped my leather cut, pulling me harder against her. “And who says, I’m spending the night with both of you?”
Shade chuckled, pulling her from my grip. “Sunny’s being nice by warning you, Meadow.”
“Really?” She tugged her hands from his and headed down a long dark hallway that led to the motel at the back. Most people didn’t know about it seeing as the owner never advertised the place but for bikers, our crew especially, it was a little secret he decided to share with us. “You can’t make me nervous,” Meadow added, stopping in front of a door at the end of the hallway. “I thought this led to outside.”
Coming up behind her, I wrapped my arms around her middle and pulled her back against me. “No, pet.” I kissed the side of her throat, rubbing my pelvis into the full seat of her ass. “This door leads to the motel attached to this place.”
“A motel?” she breathed, pushing back into me.
Shade reached into my pocket and pulled the keys from my jeans. His gaze caught mine.
I wasn’t sure if he was waiting for me to say no or that this wouldn’t happen, but I didn’t, and I never would.
I needed her. I needed him. I needed us.
This needed to happen. Tanner set my nerves on edge and ruined my mood more than it had already been. Shade and I needed to talk. Or fuck. I wasn’t sure which anymore and it confused the hell out of me.
With my arm wrapped around Meadow’s shoulders, we followed Shade out of the main bar area and into another long dark hallway. When we reached the end of it, he pushed open another door and let us through before he followed behind.
“I never knew this place existed,” Meadow murmured under her breath.
“That’s the point. It’s usually for bikers but every now and again a straggler slips in.” Releasing her, I held out my hand. “Last door on the right. Lead the way, pet.”
