“That’s it,” he said, pushing in more. “Take me.”
She sped up her rotations. He hoped she’d come again, with him.
He stared down at his penetration. His cock, striped with veins, looked so big entering her.
He paused, worried she might be in pain.
“No, no,” she wailed. “Don’t stop.”
“Ahhh…” He held her tight, could restrain himself no more, and slid to full depth. His balls pressed up against her labia, and his belly touched her ass.
She moaned, the way an animal might, and shifted her head from left to right.
“So good,” he said, his voice strangled. “So fucking good.” He pulled halfway out then sank back in.
“Fuck me,” she demanded. “Oh… I want to…again.”
“Come again,” he said, pulling out and slipping in.
“Yes, yes…”
She was so tight, her asshole a noose around his cock root. He was deep inside her; it was bliss, every fantasy rolled into one.
“Lucas, I’m coming, again. More, faster.”
He gritted his teeth, held her firm, and fucked her ass. Over and over he slid in and out, carefully, precisely, and luxuriously.
She wailed, and her body shook. She came again, and he released all the pent-up desire that had been ravaging his body. He came in three big pulses of relief, his seed entering high as she spasmed around him and writhed in his grip.
Unblinking, he stared at her small body besieged with ecstasy. His nerves were on fire, his blood pure bliss, and sparks shot through his brain. He felt his heart would explode with love and happiness.
She moved her hand and stilled, her head hanging low and her ribs expanding and contracting with her breaths.
“Olivia,” he gasped.
She didn’t answer.
He blew out a breath; his skin was hot and tingling with sweat. “Olivia.”
“Mmm…”
“You okay?”
“I’ve just been well and truly fucked, of course I’m okay.” She laughed, a slightly hysterical sound that told him she was feeling as high as he was.
He smiled and palmed her buttocks. He withdrew slowly, enjoying the sensation of her hole dragging on his shaft. When he was out, she collapsed onto her belly.
He followed suit, landing next to her, his nose an inch from hers. “You have the best ass.”
She smiled. “Thank you.”
“I like your pussy, too,” he said. “But fuck, I like your ass.”
Chapter Twenty
Lucas slept heavier than he usually would when in the outback. He figured it was a seriously good sex session that had rendered him in a sleep the dead would be proud of.
When he woke, Olivia wasn’t there. He lay for a moment, listening to the sounds of a new day, then sat and rubbed his eyes. He was naked, and now the sun had breached the horizon, he was getting warm in the stuffy tent.
He licked his lips. Tea was on his mind. He’d bet Olivia would want one, too. Perhaps she was already making one over their small campfire.
He tapped the end of the sleeping bag, found a bulge that turned out to be his boxers, and dragged them on.
After crawling out, he unfolded to his full height, scratching his tattooed arm and yawning.
The sheep were milling about nearby, some resting, some foraging for breakfast. One of the horses was dozing, the other reaching up to nibble the bark on the tree it was harnessed to.
He spotted Olivia downstream, hunched on the side of the bank.
A needle of worry poked at his nerves.
What is she doing?
He shook his jeans then dragged them on. Checked his boots for creatures seeking a dark place to hide, then shoved his feet into them.
“Olivia?” he said, pacing toward her. “What’s the…?”
He paused as she leaned forward, retching and clutching a rock.
“Shit.” He rushed up to her. “What is it? Are you ill?”
“I feel terrible.”
He pressed his palm to her brow. She didn’t feel hot. Running his hand down her back, he scanned her, as if he’d be able to spot the problem if he took a closer look.
She lurched forward and retched again. Nothing came up; it was just a dry heave.
“Can I get you something?”
“Maybe some water. I’ll be okay in a minute.”
He rushed off to get the water bottle. He went over in his mind what they’d eaten the day before. Everything had been made by Raul and was still perfectly chilled when they’d consumed it. Besides, he’d had the same as her and he was fine.
“Here.” He passed her the water.
“Thanks.” She sat up on the rock and sipped.
Her cheeks were so pale, and her eyes had those purple-hued bags under them again.
A sudden realization came over him. It all added up. There was only one thing that could be the matter with his wife. “You’re pregnant.”
“What?” Her mouth hung open.
He reached for her hand. “Olivia, this was how you were last time. Pale, sick in the morning, not much appetite, and…” He drew a circle around her face.
“What?” she said again.
“And you have that look, tired but trying not to show it.”
“Oh God,” she said, setting the bottle on the rock. “I think you’re right.”
He smiled, his heart rate picking up and excitement swirling. “It’s what we were all hoping for.”
“Yes.” She nodded, her lips a tight line.
“Are you happy?” Excitement turned to fear. What if she didn’t really want to add to their family? What if the thought of another pregnancy and birth was too much? Admittedly, he’d be happy for her to carry just one child. Seeing her small body swell with twins had scared him. But they all wanted another baby, they’d all agreed.
She stood.
He rose with her. “Olivia?”
Pressing her hands over her lower belly, she stared up at him. “I need to do a test. I need to be sure. I haven’t been regular each month since the injection…you know.”
He smiled and wrapped his arms around her. “Of course we’ll do a test, but if I were in Vegas, I’d put a lot of money on the fact you have our child growing inside you right now.”
She closed her eyes in a long, slow blink.
He kissed her softly. “And you know we’re all here for you.”
“Another baby?” Her lips twitched. They twitched some more then rose into a smile. “Yes, it’s what we all want.”
He pulled her nearer. “I’m so happy. Being with you, being a father to your children makes my life complete.”
“This baby will complete our family.”
“Aye, it will.” He tucked her head beneath his chin and kissed her crown, her hair sun-warm on his lips. “And it will be loved by a wonderful mother and five men who will do anything to ensure its happiness and well-being.”
Lucas was glad to hand the sheep over to Gray and Jonah later that day. His priorities had changed, and now he didn’t want his pregnant wife in a saddle, he wanted her resting, being pampered, taking it easy with her feet up. She and this baby were too precious to risk anything happening to them.
He’d suggested calling the station and having Harry or Evan come out with the horse trailer to collect them all, but that had gone down badly with Olivia.
‘I’m pregnant not ill.’
He remembered that phrase from last time.
But now, finally, they were approaching the station. Its pitched roof was rising on the horizon, a heat haze shimmering around it.
The horses had picked up speed, despite the heat. They knew where they were. Soon they’d have rest and shade, food and water, and would be able to roll in the paddock and scratch their hot coats in the dust.
“We’ve made good time,” she said.
“We didn’t linger with Gray and Jonah, did we?”
“I guess not.”
“Are you going t
o tell the others first and then do a test?”
“No.” She looked at him, the brim of her hat shading her eyes. “I want to know for sure before I tell them, but…”
“But what?”
“It’s Sunday. Even if I were to drive into town, I couldn’t buy one.”
“You don’t have to.”
“What do you mean?”
He switched his reins from one hand to the other and stared straight ahead. “Raul has one in his cupboard, in the bathroom.”
“He has?” There was surprise in her voice.
“Aye, he’s the hopeful sort, you know that.”
“Yes, I do.” She paused. “I guess that’s helpful then.”
“So shall I get it, when we’re home?”
“Yes. Maybe you’ll bring it to me without anyone noticing.”
“Of course.”
He felt strangely privileged to be the husband at her side at this moment. Normally prepared to step back and let others take the limelight while he quietly got on with things, this precious knowledge had fallen into his lap. He wanted to hold it close, cherish it, the way he cherished Olivia, enjoying the secret, even if just for a few minutes.
They approached the stables, and Amal appeared on horseback. He was closely followed by Darius and Cameron. Darius had a lead rope on Cameron’s tiny pony to keep it under control.
“Hey, boys,” Olivia said. “What you up to?”
“Hi, Mom. Hi, Dad,” Amal said. “We’re taking Cameron for a ride to check the fence at the top of the drive.”
“Mason said it was okay as long as we stayed in view of the house so he could see us,” Darius added.
“Sounds good, and Cameron has to learn how to check fences,” Lucas said.
Cameron grinned. His riding hat, despite fitting perfectly, appeared enormous on his little head.
“Okay, be careful, have fun,” Olivia said.
They rode up to the stables. Evan and Harry were checking the hooves on an older mare.
“G’day,” Evan said. “You’re early.”
“We made good time.” Lucas dismounted. His legs were stiff, so was his back. He wanted a cold shower and a cold beer.
There’s something else to do first.
“Here, we’ll take the horses,” Harry said, scooping up the reins of Lucas’s steed.
“Thanks.”
Evan held Olivia’s horse, and Lucas reached and helped her down.
“I can do it myself,” she said, holding his arms as he lowered her.
“I know.”
She rolled her eyes but then slipped her arm into the crook of his. “My legs always feel like jelly after hours in the saddle.”
“I know what you mean.”
“Thanks, guys,” she threw over her shoulder.
“No problem,” Evan called. “Go shower, you both need to.”
Lucas chuckled.
In the kitchen, Raul was sipping rum and flicking through a Tasmanian recipe book. “Hola.”
“Hey,” Lucas said, reaching for two tumblers. “All good?”
“Si. All is good this fine Sunday.”
“Where’s Isabel?” Olivia asked.
“Isabel is being, how you say…” Raul swirled his finger in the air. “Champagne…no, that is wrong…chaperone.”
“A chaperone? How come?” Lucas asked.
“Greg came to take Banna out for cake. Isobel wanted to go along.”
“Oh?” Olivia glanced at Lucas. “Okay.”
“We all decided it was okay,” Raul said. “And I have Greg’s number on my phone.” He poked it. “All is well.”
“I guess that’s nice,” Lucas said. “That they all want to spend time together.”
“And there cannot be much kissing, not with a little sister there.” Raul tapped the side of his head.
“I like your way of thinking,” Lucas smiled.
“We all thought that.” Raul laughed. “Besides, Isobel really likes cake.”
“She does.” Olivia took the glass of water Lucas handed her. “Thanks.”
“We’re going to shower,” Lucas said.
“Si, good plan, you smell of sheep and horses.”
“Thanks for that.” Olivia laughed.
Once upstairs, Lucas went into the bathroom and opened the cupboard Raul kept his toiletries in. At the back was the pregnancy kit. He took it, slipped it under his shirt, and headed to the main bedroom.
Olivia was already in the shower, the door open a crack.
He stepped in, paused for a moment to admire the way the water ran down her small frame, then knocked on the glass cubicle.
She opened her eyes, and her attention landed on the box. She nodded.
After setting it on the sink, he left her alone, pulling up the bathroom door.
Desperate as he was for a shower, he didn’t want to delay her peeing on the stick and finding out the result. And he didn’t want to use another bathroom and miss anything either.
He shut the bedroom door and paced to the window. The boys and their horses were ambling over the yard, Cameron still grinning broadly and obviously feeling very grown up to be out on a horse with only his brothers.
After a few minutes, the bathroom door opened.
Olivia stepped out, a towel wrapped turban style around her head, and another around her body, tucked in just above her breasts. She held the small white stick.
“Well?” he said, a knot of apprehension coiling in his belly.
“It takes a couple of minutes.”
“Of course.” He shifted from one foot to the other and glanced at the bedside clock.
“Are you okay?” She stood next to him.
“Aye, I’m just nervous.”
“Why?” She rested her hand between his shoulder blades.
“Now it’s been real in my head, this baby, for a few hours, I don’t want that to be taken away.”
She smiled. “I know what you mean.” She rested her cheek on his upper arm.
He circled her waist and pulled her close. “Is it ready yet?”
“I don’t know.”
“So take a look.”
She lifted the stick. A small window showed two pink lines.
“What does that mean?” he asked. He thought he knew, but he needed her to say it.
“It means.” Her hand shook slightly. “That you were right, Lucas. I’m pregnant.”
He cupped her face, pulled her to him, and kissed her. Joy spun through his soul. Life couldn’t be more perfect. He was going to be a father again, they all were.
The door opened.
They broke the kiss, but she stayed in his arms.
Mason stood there. “Oh, you’re back. That’s good.” He smiled, but then he tipped his head, expression falling serious. “What’s going on?”
Lucas knew full well he’d spotted what Olivia was holding.
“Is that what I think it is?” Mason walked across the room.
“Yes.” She held it out. “It is, and it’s positive.”
His eyes widened. He glanced at Lucas and then back to Olivia. “You’re pregnant?”
“Yes.”
“That’s wonderful.” He mimicked what Lucas had done. He cradled her face and kissed her.
When he pulled back, beaming, an excited giggle burst from her chest. “We need to tell the others.”
“Aye, of course we do.”
“Put some clothes on,” Lucas said.
“I will.” She dropped the towel to the floor, then, naked, opened a drawer.
Lucas bit on his bottom lip and flexed his fingers. It was hard to resist her when she’d suddenly got naked and they were in a bedroom and she smelled of soap and shampoo and all the girly things that really got his hormones in a twist.
But before either he or Mason could react, she’d dragged on panties and a small blue cotton dress. She tossed the towel on her head onto a chair and finger-combed her hair.
“Come on then.” She hooked her arms through both
of theirs. “Let’s share the good news.”
As they walked from the room, Lucas had to blink hard a few times. His eyes had misted. It was a rare occurrence for him, once a year maybe. It proved this truly was a momentous day. Many people across the world, of various cultures and religions, wouldn’t understand why or how their family worked. But it did, perfectly. He wouldn’t change it for anything, and he knew full well neither would his wife, his brother, or the men who he shared a life, home, children, and a woman with.
They walked into the kitchen still linked. Harry and Evan were supping a beer. Raul was cracking eggs into a bowl.
“What’s going on?” Harry said, a bottle stopping half way to his mouth when he saw the three of them.
“Is that…?” Evan nodded at the pregnancy test in Olivia’s hand. “What I think it is.” He set his beer aside with a clunk.
“Yes,” Lucas said, his breath catching in his throat. “We’re going to be fathers again.”
“For the love of the Lord.” Raul dropped an egg onto the counter, it smashed, then held his hands in the air. “Is this true?” He set his attention on Olivia.
“Yes. It’s true.” She squeezed Lucas’s arm. “I’ve been feeling tired, and I was queasy this morning, so Lucas…”
“I had her do that test, Raul. The one in your cupboard.”
“Si, that is good, very good idea, Lucas.” Raul stepped up to Olivia and kissed her. “This is a great day. A truly great day.”
“Yeah,” Evan grinned. “This is perfect. What we all wanted.” He, too, kissed Olivia, then he clasped Harry’s shoulder. “Another heir to your fortunes, huh.”
“And the station.” Harry’s smile was so wide his cheeks were round apples. “I hardly dare believe it, Liv, it’s such wonderful news.”
“It’s true so go ahead and believe it.” She unlinked her arm from Mason’s and rubbed her lower belly. “There’s a baby in here.”
Lucas set his hand over hers. His heart was thudding and his emotions ballooning.
There was a lot to be said for contentment, for happiness, and he knew he was one lucky bloke to have found it here in the Australian wilderness. He’d never give it up, not without a fight, and he was one hell of a fighter. So this, his life, it wasn’t changing.
Well, apart from a new baby on the horizon…but that was good change, exciting change, and he couldn’t wait to hold their child in his arms and then watch it grow and learn and become part of them.
