Blood Rite Page 27

by Sarah Black

The analog screen lights up green with a text from an unknown number. There is only one person who knows the number to the burner phone. Glancing down, he reads the message.

Unknown Number: Is the asset secure?

Swallowing, he looks up, his gaze falling on Penny. Her messy purple hair hangs along her shoulders in a ratty mess. Her jacket sits beside her, uncaring that if she wore it then it would cover up the gore and blood splattering her body. There isn’t a damn scratch on her. Though she touches her head every once and again with a wince.

Pride swells within him at her strength, his love for her deepening. Though she is so much more to him than an asset.

  She is his daughter.

  About the Author

I’m Sarah. I like cats and have an insane dog. My favorite food is bread, no lie I can’t even make that up. My favorite video game is Zelda, all of them. I love monopoly but my family refuses to play with me because I’m a terrible loser. Apparently I’m pretty competitive according to my karate instructor and my husband.

Most days I live inside my head, and I forget what day it is. But one thing is always the same, I love books and I love writing books. I get to write out my dreams and fantasies shamelessly and take the story how I want it to go. Also I love kick ass heroines and sexy bad boys.

  Psssst...

I know this is our first date, and we are only just getting to know each other but leaving a review is so much better than a sloppy first date kiss. I promise, no saliva is involved in the making of a review.
