City Lights: A Short Story Page 4

by J. Nichole

Taylor places the ring on my finger and pulls me in for a kiss. The kiss I have been missing. He turns me around to my friends whose faces are just as wet as mine. They all gather around me for a group hug before Amy hands me the duffle bag I saw her carrying. “You guys better get going before you miss your flight.” She looks beyond me to Taylor and says, “Or before Danielle starts thinking too hard.”

Taylor wraps his arm around my waist and says, “Are you ready to do this babe?” How could I not be ready? My life list caused me to break-up with him, when I was fighting to spend forever with him. Who does that?

“Ready or not, let’s do this.”
