The Devil in Apartment 13 Page 16

by Tiana Laveen

Her eyes rolled when he forced himself roughly inside her with a hard, nasty thrust. She belted a scream that threatened to pierce the air then sank her teeth into his hand. He covered her mouth and when he moved, the bed rocked hard and steady, the headboard beating like boots against cement.

They were speaking to another, but she could barely recall what she’d uttered two seconds prior, and three seconds after that. Words tumbled across broken sentences, broken hearts trying to mend and minds trying to make sense of a fractured world that had no time for the impossible. He was the embodiment of wishing on stars from afar… nights over Morocco and Egypt… a prayer in the form of flesh.

“FUCK!” He grunted when he came, his warm semen feeling like a gush of torrential rain flooding her pulsating walls. Before she could utter a word, he flipped her on her stomach, grabbed her neck in a choking hold, and drove his rock hard cock back within her wetlands, pummeling her pussy with brute determination. The slapping of his groin against her ass competed with the rocking bed and banging headboard, creating an orchestra of pure, delicious fuckery. Once he’d climaxed once again, he got to his feet, seemingly pleased with his handiwork. Looking over her shoulder, she watched his chest rise and fall, the sweat glistening there. He had a mischievous glimmer in his eye.

“Turn back over onto your back. I’m going to fuck you again. And again. And again.”

“Shahzad, I can’t fuck back-to-back like you!” She laughed. “You’ve got to give me a rest.”

His soft, delectable lips curled in a smirk and she shuddered when he winked. He snapped his damn fingers and made her body ascent from the bed like the rising sun.

“No! Put me down!” she protested.

“Shhh…” He smiled. “You’re in good hands, baby. I’ll do all of the work. You just lie back and take it… enjoy this good fucking I have for you…”

With a motion of his wrist and a wave of his fingers, her body obeyed him, floating in his direction just so. He coaxed her thighs apart with a nod, made her scissor him and cross her ankles around his back, locking them in place. Holding her steady and secure by the hips, he entered her again, this time slow and easy.

His thrusts were pure enchanting torture, each stroke long and arduous, yet measured and controlled to perfection. Her body moved on its own; she floated in wonder as he drove within her, love and lust dancing in his eyes. She gulped when he left feathery touches all along her clit. His hands massaged her flesh, a sensation she recognized to be his own signature brand. A touch she now knew oh so well…

“Shahzad!” She came hard, like a bursting dam. He held her close, caressing her back. He made her feel safe, wanted, loved.

When she’d settled, he held her close in a sitting position, then settled her down onto his lap. She fell asleep as he stroked her hair. When she awoke, several hours had passed, but he hadn’t budged. Their gazes met and he simply smiled at her. He glowed, like pure gold.

“Will you be my wife, Vivian?”

Her lips curled and she nodded, fighting back tears.

  “Yes, yes I will!”

He kissed the top of her head, then her lips. It wasn’t long before he was back inside her, making her scream and beg for mercy as he wracked her body with back-to-back orgasms. At times she had no idea where she was, who she was, what she was doing. But she had peace. Unsurmountable joy, and a wish that had truly come true…

  Three years later…

“They have their own brewery. I’m scheduled to go, especially after my last review,” Vivian explained as she sorted out the handwritten notes spread all along the dining room table.

Shahzad had no idea why his wife wouldn’t work in her own office in their now shared penthouse in Manhattan. She was far less organized than him, and at times they bumped heads about it. Besides, he’d spent so much money getting that space just the way she wished, but she still managed to bring her computer and paperwork into different rooms, including their bedroom where all he wanted to do was fuck all night, not watch her work.

“Your visit to the brewery doesn’t matter at this point. You can’t drink anything right now anyway, so you may as well cancel the appointment until next year.” He yawned and considered his work schedule for the night. He was going to be late for his evening meeting if he didn’t get a move on, and if he was, Nizar would never let him hear the end of it.

“I know that.” The woman rolled her eyes. “You bossy bastard. Don’t let me regret allowing you to knock me up, Shahzad.” She sucked her breath then took another taste of her tea.

“Allowing me?” He chuckled as he extended his arm, fixing his cufflink.

“Yes. You knew I was on the fence about children. I must admit though, I’m getting excited about the pregnancy now.” She smiled, her eyes misty with joy.

“I asked you for just one child.” He put his finger up. “I promised to be with you every step of the way. That’s the only thing my mother asked for, too: grandchildren from me. Besides, you owe her as well for her stopping some of the ancestors from materializing at our wedding. It’s custom. She made an exception for you.”

A spray of tea zoomed across the dining room as Vivian burst out laughing.

“Yeah? Well, let me tell you something. I was not really into wanting to see three-thousand-year-old mummies dancing to the electric slide! I’m sure that would’ve gone over quite well with my family, too!”

“Jinns!” he corrected with a crooked smile, though he knew she was only kidding. They kept the truth away from her family for they’d never understand, and besides, why cause her undue stress? He took a final sip of his coffee, made his way over to her, and kissed her cheek. Grabbing his briefcase and keys, he headed to the door. “I’m leavin’, baby. If you need anything, have any more morning sickness, well, evening sickness at this point and wish for it to stop let me know. If it gets too bad again I’ll get rid of it for you.”

“I’m fine, honey. Besides, morning sickness goes with the territory. I can manage.” She winked at him, then yawned.

He took in the sight of her for a moment, his heart pounding with pride, then walked back to her and took her in his arms, kissing her with all he had within him. Stepping back, he ran his hand along her extended stomach. There was a hump now; she was finally showing at four and a half months pregnant. He couldn’t wait to meet their son. They were still brainstorming names, too.

“I don’t know if he’ll be just like me, just like you, or a combination. All I know is you’ve been my dream come true, Vivian. Since the very first time I saw you. And now, you’ve given me another dream, a child.” He blinked back tears, hating how emotional he became when thinking about his unborn offspring. “I know things haven’t always been easy for us. You say I’m controlling and at times vengeful… I think you’re too forgiving and I know you didn’t appreciate my shapeshifting in the bathroom the other night.”

She burst out laughing and shook her head.

“A fucking snake of all things, Shahzad! And you were huge! You had the nerve to look at me, hiss, then slam the door in my face with a shake of your rattled tail. I was surprised I didn’t faint!”

“I was angry about what you’d said, and you walked in on me trying to calm down is all.” He shrugged and smirked. “I would never in a million years do something like that in front of you. That’s why I went into the bathroom. Next time, don’t follow behind me after an argument if I walk away, baby. Just give me a few minutes to get myself together. Anyway, I don’t always understand your empathy for others who seem undeserving, but I’m trying. I have a lot to learn from you.”

“And I learn a lot from you too, baby. I can see you are trying your very hardest.” She stroked the side of his face, then landed a peck along his lips. “And that’s what matters most. You’re doing a really good job. I tell you that all the time.”

He smiled proudly, needing her approval.

“We’re determined to care for one another, and as long as we remember why we fell
in love in the first place, and have respect and concern for one another, we will be just fine.”

He kissed her forehead, then reluctantly pulled away.

“You’re right… you usually are.” He winked at her. With a quick wave, he then blew her a kiss.

“I will see you later tonight, all right?”

“Cool, baby. I have a couple articles to write up for the magazine and then I’ll probably go to that baby store in the morning, the one we liked, and see if they have any more of those nice onesies left. Might as well stock up now. I guess we can get the blue ones instead of the pink.” She sucked her teeth and rolled her eyes, causing him to burst out laughing. “We can try for a girl next time!” He opened the front door.

“Next time?! You are really pushing your luck!”

“I don’t believe in luck, but I do believe in love. How could I not?” He pointed at her. “You’re an angel that fell in love with a Jinn. And I’m finally out of the lamp. Now that I know what true love is, you can never get me back in the bottle. Here is where I belong.”
