“Yeah.” He said. Quiet, too quiet.

“Do you think she would approve of Uday’s… reaction to me?”

“She would have adored you. Would have complained you were too skinny for baby making.” Then he chuckled, and that made the world bright again. “But she would have adored you. My father always listened to her intuition over his own. If he doesn’t come around he’ll have an earful to listen to when he dies.”

“She liked your laugh.” Rosamma said, when he laughed again.

“How would you know?” He asked, a teasing smile twitching to his lips.

“Mother’s intuition.” Rosamma murmured, pressing a hand on the small curve of her belly.

“Well, did you intuit this?” Ekene laughed, stooping over to place a bouquet on his mother’s grave. Except he didn’t come back up. Down on one knee, Ekene reached into his jacket and removed the biggest diamond she’d ever seen. “Rosamma. My dethorned Rose. My everything-”

“Yes!” She screamed, tackling him to the ground. “We do, we do, we do!”

Tears slid from Ekene’s eyes as he pulled her face in for a kiss. When they finally parted, his gaze rolled to his mother, and he smiled. There were no needs for words because Rosamma felt the same way. Even after Uday pulled his support from Caton Securities and disinherited Ekene, his lack of support didn’t matter.

They were both happy his mother got to see him propose.

  A Quick thank you.

  Omega City

  Lockdown

  By Carmen Hunter

First I'll steal her body. Then her soul. Her willingness. And finally the greatest prize of all, her heart.

A glorified crime princess, Eliza deHai knows more than her innocent facade suggests. She's the daughter of the cities most notorious gang leader. Outside of myself. And I plan on taking all of her secrets in the most brutal and shameful ways possible - whether she wants me to or not.

I’m not an omega, but that doesn't matter to the greatest monster Omega City has ever seen. If he says I’m an omega then I am.

This man who terrifies and excites me wants answers to questions I can't give. And he's going to punish me in ways my coddled existence never prepared me for. But Hagan makes one error when he takes me. He thinks to break the one thing no Alpha can.

  My stubbornness.

Omega City Lockdown is Book one of two in a sinister, dark Omegaverse m/f series that takes place in the Lockdown universe. A world with three surviving countries trapped behind grand walls that keep the horrors of the outside world at bay. For those who adore twisted tales and complete power exchange, this book has a dark ending with no light at the end of the tunnel. You’ll have to get to the very end for that.

  Chapter One

This is not Juniper’s bedroom. Instead of the second most feared Alpha in the city, a tiny young woman sits at a vanity so certain of safety - she hums along to a slow melody crackling from a portable radio. Her eyes remain closed allowing Hagan to take a few seconds to process everything, his gaze darting about the room as he sits perched on the windowsill dripping from rain water.

Powder blue walls with no decoration other than lacey trim, two grand armoires for clothing, and a frilly pink bed with linen and canopy to match. This doesn’t belong to a bloodthirsty monster - The Omega lied. After being tortured beyond compare, this is where that traitor pointed to on the map.

  Juniper’s ‘most protected room’.

Hagan didn’t work his ass off plotting revenge for eighteen years for a little bitch sitting in someone else's chair to fuck it up. Yet, no matter how he tries to spin it, Juniper will still be a thorn in his side. Because an entrancing Omega with straight black hair is singing in her place. All the meticulous planning, all the war and bloodshed of the past twenty years, it can’t be justified now. And whoever this girl is, she’s to blame.

Rain pattered on Hagan’s white mask twenty minutes ago, splashing a surface swirling in red painted optical illusions that resemble a wolf’s maw. He waited in the foliage of Omega Cities Sky Light district, and watched a tiny creature through heat vision goggles. There was no choice but to trust it was the right woman.

From the beginning, wrongness wafted through the air. Hagan observed a creature that seemed a smidge to small for hours, but needed her to be Juniper. So he chalked it up to rain disturbance and not being able to fit his eye over the lense properly due to his mask.

Behind him, the downpour hid an Alpha squadron ready to overrun the poorly defended base before its guards raised alarms. Hubris made the fools think they were safe sitting above the rest of the world in their glowing metropolis. Shit caked rubes from the old world Ruins don’t exist, let alone wait in the bushes to attack. When the sun always shines, and the electricity always works, it’s easy to forget what the darkness hides.

In her tower like a queen, the Omega tittered back and forth how he imagined Juniper would. After fucking over his city day after day, Hagan thought he was witnessing the habits of a mortal enemy. Habits concocted to wash clean the blood from her soiled hands.

As Hagan watched, he knew in his bones tonight was the night Juniper would suffer. Suffer the worst horrors imaginable if he had his way. He wanted to start with the truth about how they tracked her down; her own Omega.

A sweet man called Elijah, who’d been by her side since the beginning, but never quiet earned the security a permanent pair bond brings. Still, he was defiant to the point there was no choice but to have an Alpha female forced on him. Teeth and all. Not even the strongest man can resist the urge of an Alpha/Omega bond. He spilled most of his former lovers' secrets on the first day.

But for the harder questions? Why she and his brother Caliburn, the weakling now running Omega City's underground tunnels, sold him out so long ago. Or why she set up shop in the Sky Light district, after being born and raised in the Ruins like Hagan and his brother. After years of silent plotting to usurp those literally above them, and working as a team to bring about a new Alpha reign with them on top, it made little sense.

No matter what beatings or punishments, nothing broke Elijah. Even face to face with Hagan’s teeth, an inch away from having his throat torn out, the man was silent. Much to the chagrin of his newfound mate, Hagan ordered his tongue taken out when Elijah refused to speak any further. Hey if the thing is worthless… why keep it? Kick back from the Alpha female continued until Hagan offered to take her tongue in lieu of his.

She stopped arguing then. No real survival exists in the Sky Light, which is why he gave Elijah to a woman from there. Only spoiled brats who scrape together a safe living by stepping on the throats of the downtrodden live there. A better, cleaner place for the rich to get fat and sneer down their noses at others.

The soft living makes it easy to extort the worthless lumps of fat, too too weak to make it on the ground. They stay up there and thrive only because they are born lucky. All because they float in the sky above the poor thanks to magnetic science mumbo jumbo none of them understand.

>   Lowering the binoculars, without knowing who he was really watching, Hagan signaled for his pack to move. They scaled the walls of Juniper’s towers in the darkness of night; the moon veiled by storm clouds too. Even it was too cowardly to watch the one sided bloodshed about to unfold.

His men splintered off, entering windows to handle any guards running rounds. Hagan slipped by the soft hiss and gurgle of blood unnoticed and carried onwards to what he thought was a hard-earned prize. An enemy only he could defeat. Despite being female, Hagan never met a more ferocious Alpha than himself until her. Juniper would tear apart anyone he sent up there other than a full-fledged army. Even then he’d lose half the platoon.

When the window came into view, it was a beacon of success glowing with precious light. Light denied to over half the populated areas scattered around the Ruins. Curtains billowed outward with each gust of wind, the sound of classical music slipping into the darkness. A soft hum drifted along with the instrumentals knitting his brows together in confusion.

Hagan pulled himself over the windowsill dripping rain water, which kept the Omega from noticing. Silent as he is, Juniper would still sense his presence if she were here, especially after his sitting dumbfounded for so long. Even if rain masks his scent, that woman would know. But there’s nothing.

Perhaps it’s a trap, he thinks. Perhaps it still is. That’s why this little creature sits before him, the sweetest Omega he’s ever seen. She’s like Rapunzel brushing her long black hair while unknowingly trapped in a tower. To her this is a world where no monsters exist, and his cock swells at the innocent mirage.

Even though he can’t inhale her scent from behind his masks filtration system, Hagan’s reaction to her is volatile. If he morphed strong dominant features into the soft divine beauty before him, than the resemblance to Juniper is uncanny and somehow all the better.

This never happens in nature. How rare is it for a female Alpha to be born? One in twenty. How rare is it for a female Alpha to get pregnant? One in one hundred. How rare is it for an Omega to be born? One in every several thousand, even with Omega parentage.

Hagan wanted to know what compelled his greatest allies to betray him. It seems the answer is love - at least for one of them it is. But Elijah with his somewhat faulty information, seems to love Juniper more than his own daughter. That had to be the connection. That's how he knew where this young woman would be, in fact it’s likely the only reason.

When the girl opens her almond shaped eyes to the mirror, their reflections widen at the sight of a bare-chested Alpha. His mask stares right back at her, and large muscles ripple with violent intent. A wet pink tongue parts her lips at what she sees. Her gaze is not the piercing green of her mothers. Instead, pale lilac darts lower to the large cock jutting a tent in his pants.

There aren’t enough Omega’s to go around, and just by looking at the tasty jewel eyeing him from head to toe, Hagan’s blood is singing. Five hundred years ago to avoid the Plague, the government built around a country lost to time. After the Great Breach the survivors threw together another makeshift wall around Omega City, the world outside of which might as well not exist. Which means when a supply of Omega’s dry up… the well stays dry, and the city's name becomes ironic.

Out of the few million unfortunate souls that call this place home, about twenty percent are Alpha’s. And there are maybe, maybe if they’re lucky, a couple thousand Omega’s. Most die without a mate a few years after hitting estrus and being passed around like limp rag dolls for Alpha use. Hagan’s own pens keep the girls held there fed, safe, and happy in exchange for an obedient fuck here and there.

None are half as pretty as this one, the obvious child of his mortal enemy. As her jaw splits into a show of adorable hissing teeth, his cock swells even harder. No Omega has ever dared to hiss or snarl at him before. Not even the Omega’s he stole from other pens. They all marched forward and showed their new found allegiance by sucking cock. Exactly how nature decided it to be. Raw, primal, the strong fuck the weak.

And what unmated Omega didn’t want to be on their knees in front of Hagan, earning the perks of being his property? Not even Juniper treated them better, and she’s female. “Put those teeth away, and I’ll let you come back with me.” To anyone who knew anything, a promise like that should put her at ease. Maybe even make her ready to present an eager pussy in gratitude.

Instead, the cackling yip of a hyena fills the air, and hormones blow the pupils of her glittering purple eyes wide. A ring of violet encircles the over expanded pupil. She stares him down as a hand inches for a drawer on the vanity. Something metallic glints in her palm, and Hagan leaps out of the way. Too slow. Blood slides down his arm where a letter opener slits open the skin, two inches from being embedded deep in his shoulder.

The thundering boom of his roar shakes the room, and slick drenches the girl's thighs at his violent call. Fluid ruins the pretty pink princess dress she’s in, as potent confusion fogs her gaze. She pulls a vial of pills from the desk, stumbling through the haze of what must be her first Alpha growl. Hagan licks his lips before charging. A tiny fist stops him with a punch to the throat, but the pill bottle scatters open on the floor. When he wheezes the Omega scurries out of the puddle of arousal her body made, far from reaching arms and her drugs.

“Stop it!” Like church bells ringing for the rapture; her voice. Hagan growls, delight making his chest swell as more slick ruins her skirts. The girl presses a fist to her belly with a whine. “Please stop! What are you doing?”

“I’m getting a little Omega bitch ready for punishment.” the rumble of his voice crackles with radio static from his wolf mask, and he thanks God for the air filtration. He’d be rutting her against the floor if he got a single whiff of her slick.

With a cringe she steps further away, “Don’t call me that.”

  “Bitch?”

“Omega. That’s rude, you shouldn’t call an Alpha that, even if they’re female.”

A bark of laughter rips from his throat and she scrambles all the way to the other side of the room. The girl is skilled enough to engage in combat, and smart enough to know when she shouldn’t. Yet Juniper has her fooled into thinking she’s not breeding stock.

Willful ignorance, and careful plotting went into this.

“So many high-ranking soldiers, and so much risk keeping them all in one place for you.” This is how an Alpha female protects her brood from a terrible fate. Now it makes sense why Juniper had so many Alpha’s based in Omega City’s Sky Light district. To keep her daughter locked away and tricked into insanity.

When he crooks a come hither finger, the Omega grabs a lamp as her new weapon. Hagan’s never fought an Omega for dominance, and he fucking likes it. His swollen cock is leaking without even laying a finger on her. “Tell me where your mother is, and I’ll be gentle the first time I fuck you.”

  But the second time…

The lamp flies at him as he anticipates, but this time no blood spurts forth and she’s too slow to escape his grasp. The yelp of a puppy comes from her flower petal lips. Hagan wishes she could see the deep glow of his red eyes, and the horrific grin pasted in place just for her. Before long she’s pinned to the wall, wiggling those tantalizing hips against his cock.

Held by the neck, pale lilywhite skin looks perfect between his fingers. His dick twitches with every swallow that brushes his palm, demanding to be free. Yanking down his zipper, Hagan pushes the fabric of the Omega’s sopping skirt between her thighs. Instinct squeezes her legs together as pre cum rubs into the mess of slick. The beast inside growls with the desire to breathe in the scent of their fluids mixing and see just how well they belong together.

“You want to play Alpha, kitten?” he purrs, thrusting rapidly between her thighs. “In a battle of wills the strongest of us demands submission. And me? If I don’t receive it… I force it.”

She snaps her teeth at him, and that’s all the triggering he needs.

“That’s it, puppy dog” he gro
wls, releasing the girl to crumble gasping on the floor. Poor thing shouldn’t be so enticing, so mind numbingly distracting. “I’m gonna teach you a lesson about whose rules we follow in Omega City.”
