The Rancher Meets His Match Page 29

by Kate Pearce

She came so suddenly he could only ride it out with her as he used his free hand to unzip and shove down his jeans and boxers. She helped him with the condom, which was good considering his hands were shaking, and then he was thrusting inside her, and everything was right with his world.

It didn’t take long for them to fight their way to a frantic finish as they climaxed together. Kaiden rested his forehead on her shoulder as he struggled to get his breath back.

“I love you, Julia,” he whispered as she smoothed his hair like he was a cat.

“I love you, too.” She pushed at his chest. “I hate to break the mood, but the desk is creaking really badly. The last thing I need right now is for it to collapse, and for the entire staff at MZB to rush in here, and find us doing . . . this.”

As he hastily disentangled himself, Kaiden started to chuckle. One thing was certain. His life would never be boring with Julia Garcia in it.

“I booked a hotel room if you’d like to try this again with a little more privacy?” he offered, as she carefully slid off the desk righting her skirt the second her heels hit the carpet.

  “Where are my panties?”

He patted the pocket of his jeans. “I have them safe right here.”

She bent to pick up something that had fallen off the surface of her desk giving him way too many ideas, and making zipping his jeans even harder. When she straightened, her cheeks were flushed, and her mouth soft and rosy from his kisses.

“Didn’t you promise me lunch or something?” she asked.

“The hotel definitely has room service.”

“Fine.” She sighed and went to get her purse. “Now, hand over my panties.”

  “You sure about that?”

She held out her hand and smiled when he complied. “Give me five minutes in the restroom, and I’m all yours.”

“Hey.” He caught hold of her elbow as she went to go past him. “You good with all this? Splitting our time between Morgan Valley and here? Seeing each other? Loving each other?”

  She cupped his cheek. “Yes.”

“A woman of few words.” He had to kiss her again.

“Which is a good thing because you talk way too much.” She gave him a saucy smile. “I’ll meet you in reception, okay?”

“Sure, try not to look like you’ve just been doing what we’ve been doing, okay?” he called out as she unlocked the door.

She stuck her tongue out at him and disappeared down the hall. Kaiden took the time to straighten up the place and set himself to rights before putting his Stetson on and strolling down to reception. Whatever happened next, he’d found a woman who was his perfect match. He was fairly certain they’d fight occasionally, but he wasn’t worried. She wouldn’t walk away from him, and he would try and be worthy of her for the rest of his life.

He grinned like he’d won the PBR world championship. For once in his life, he really had come out on top.
