I am in a hard case; abandoned in the war front to fight it alone. Come, Lord, save me now. {Sobbing till he packs at the gate. Then he leans his head on the wheel}. {Plays ball within. Sees dad and calls} Daddy… {Prostrates}

And how is my prince? {Holds his left hand}
JOSHUA
Am fine, Dad. {Takes the briefcase}How are you too, dad?
DEINDE
Oh, son, not really good. (In eye lock with him, both silent}

SORROWS OF A LONE FIGHTER
INT. LIVING ROOM – DUSK
CAST: DEINDE, JOSHUA, FLORENCE, FAITH
DEINDE
(It’s evening. He lies on long upholstery, speaks to Joshua) Em… Son, where is your Mum?
JOSHUA
In the study Sir, praying. {Sits beside his Dad}
DEINDE
Alright! What about your sister? Where is she?
JOSHUA
She hasn’t return from her evening lesson.
DEINDE
At this time of the day! She ought to be home now. Alright, just give me something cold.
JOSHUA
Okay sir [walks up to the refrigerator, brings a bottle of wine}. You will like this, dad?
FLORENCE
It’s good for him. {Comes out of the study, sits beside her husband, gives a hug} – Honey, welcome. Please don’t be offended for not coming out early to attend to you.
DEINDE
{Gives her a hand kiss} Not at all, darling. I’ve always be thankful to God for given me such a beautiful praying woman like you. You’re His gifted favor for me.
FLORENCE
{Winks eyes at him} Ah, ah, when will you stop flattering me? Okay, may I lead you to the table for dinner or you bath first?
DEINDE
Neither filling empty belly nor washing dirty body wins inner war.
FLORENCE
What! How do you mean? {Closer} Come on, Honey; real faith smiles at the storms.
DEINDE
My home is sweetened with you my ever beautiful one but my inner man is in the grip of turmoil. And when shall I have my peace?-
FLORENCE
{Cuts in} But you once taught us how wars are often man’s passage to his peace. {Downcasts}. Indeed, my resent dreams point to imminent invasion. It’s the cause I’ve been groaning in His presence. But God shall give His promised peace if we endure this trial to the end. He will surely give it to us. We will overcome.
DEINDE
We will…hun…may we. {Soberly} The Lord sent His messenger to us today to instruct how we could but her errand jettisoned by the elders.
FLORENCE
Jettisoned? {Rises} I couldn’t wait to hear that. Tell me what exactly the message was.
DEINDE
{Stares into air} Hum, the young, pretty lady was sent by the Lord… Hum….
FAITH
{Enters with singing, then greets excitedly}- My sweet Mum. {Embraces mum}
FLORENCE
{Carries her up in arm} It’s so sweet welcoming my precious Angel. How was the lesson today?
FAITH
It is fine, mum. {Jumps down, turns to her dad} Dad, I love my lovely Dad {jumps on him}
DEINDE
{Pats her} And I loved my beautiful sweetheart.
FAITH
{Looks on his face}What! Dad, why do you look so worried! Is anything the matter? Come on, dad, put a smile. Won’t you?
DEINDE
Oh, all shall be well, sweetheart. Baby, believe it; all shall be alright, soonest.
FAITH
I know dad, but I want you to cheer up. Cheer up, dad. Won’t you? Cheer up if you surely believe it shall be well!
DEINDE
I will cheer up. {Smiles, faintly} It’s alright. I will. Are you now okay?
FAITH
May be, may be not
DEINDE
May be not? {Laughs} What a loving baby you are! Now, go inside the study. Open the briefcase and carry what I bought for you and your brother. Run.
FAITH
Thanks. Dad, don’t forget how you taught us mountain moving faith. Faith smiles at the storms, you said repeatedly. Don’t you? {On her feet}
DEINDE
{Amazes} O, God! I did, sweetheart. I promise you that I will smile at the storms.
FAITH
And it will be great if you do. {Runs into Study}
FLORENCE
Hum, your loving girl is too sensitive and so amazing?
DEINDE
God shall enrich her tender spirit with more spiritual glories.
FLORENCE
Amen! Now, honey {fixes gaze}, the message.
DEINDE
Come closer, darling. {Whispers into her ear}
FLORENCE
Oh, my God! {Bursts in tears, shouts} No! No storms shall prevail. {Looks at him, holds his hands} We shall overcome.
DEINDE
{In tears, he rests her head on his shoulder}.When? {Pauses, sobs} Lord! Why me, Lord?
COUPLE
{Sing} “ROCK OF AGES, CLEFT FOR ME… {Still sobbing}
CHILDREN
{Both weep by the dining table, join parents singing}} “ROCK OF AGES, CLEFT FOR ME

CAST: DOMINO, PRINCESS MISERY, CAPT. TERROR, MS. HONEY, LORD TERROR
B.G. Music: ‘CHRISTIAN SEEK NOT YET REPOSE’
SPECIAL EFFECTS: About the dawn, Prince Misery, Captain Terror, Lord Thorn and Ms. Honey emerge from beneath the ocean, awaiting Domino’s arrival.
DOMINO
{Lands on the sea, glares terrific and begins to rebuke MS HONEY over the failed mission} I have declared the war against the saints of the most high. Every truly anointed man or woman is our target. Don’t fail me. I repeat, dare not failed me… Did you hear me clear?
FOUR BEINGS
Yes, master. We will not fail.
DOMINO
You {Pointedly} I remember you failed me the other time
MS HONEY
{Shivers} I am sorry, my Lord.
DOMINO
Shut up! It was your third failure. Ah! {Becomes furious} When will you stop being sorry? I sent you to conquer that fiery saint; you did conquer him at first but how come he later escapes from you net.
MS HONEY

DOMINO
Did I hear you saying ‘I did my best’? A captured victim escaped through your fingers and you did your best? Shit you! {More furious} Push her into the dark room and dock her for me. I will handle you tough before I send you to another battle.
MS. HONEY
{Head down} Oh, I am in hard case. Master, I am sorry. Show mercy, lord.
DOMINO
I’ve given my order. Captain, do you hear me. Lock her up. Now!
CAPTAIN TERROR
Yes master. {Leads her into a dark room, shuts her up and returns} It is done {Pays homage}
DOMINO
{Fuming} No! Oh, if any of you fail me this time, there will be no mercy. This time, all our targets must end it in hell fire. Did you hear that
Yes, master.
DOMINO
I want Deinde, Ken-Rex and others in hell with me. ‘Strike, shame and kill’ remains our war philosophy. Is that clear?

CAPTAIN TERROR

PRINCESS MISERY

DOMINO
Damned! Damned it! You mean she was so foolish not to switch off all prophetic satellites! How could? Did I not train you all how to switch off and blind prophetic eyes? Damned! She will rot in the prison! No mercy, I have spoken.
PRINCESS MISERY

DOMINO
Now, move straight to the warfronts.
LORD THORN
Yeah, master. Now that we have it, the war is just begun.
DOMINO
{Command} Up in arms! Wage destructive war against His anointed saints. Be valiant , violent, brutal and oppressive. Did you hear that?
FOUR BEINGS
Yes, master.
SPECIAL EFFECT: March forth, each with burning sword in the right hand and black pot in the left. From each one’s pot, a black vulture flies out and vanishes into the air. They all laugh, hysterically} Ah…ah…ah…
