South Coast Brothers Part 1 Page 59

by Kacey Hamford

When the original DD clubhouse got blown up, Blade and the guys found this old hotel, bought it cheap as fuck and practically re-built it. They had converted the top floor into a home for Blade, Heather and their kids, so that Blade didn’t have to be separated from them when the club needed him, it was a tough job being the president of an MC but Blade took to it like a duck to water.

“How’s things?” I asked as I sat next to him and placed my feet onto the solid wooden coffee table.

“Mason, feet,” Heather scowled at me. I sat up in my seat and placed my right foot onto my left knee.

“Yeah, things are good. No major drama. Just bought another strip club.”

  “Another one?” I laughed.

“Yep, the men in this town spend a fortune on them. Plus I want all traces of drugs out of this place. No more runs, dealing or using in the clubhouse, not with my kids around.”

“Yeah, I can understand that man.” I looked over my shoulder to see that Cammie had made herself at home in the large kitchen, making tea and coffee. The whole of the upstairs was open planned. The kitchen flowed into the dining room and living room, then down the hallway was the bedrooms and bathroom.

“Here we go,” Cammie said as she placed a cup of coffee in front of me and Blade.

“Thanks Cam.” Blade smiled at her as he sat forward and reached for his cup.

“He’s seriously gorgeous, Cammie.” Heather beamed as she sat in the large swivel chair by the fireplace, keeping a firm grip on him.

“That’s because he looks like me.” I chuckled as Cammie picked up her cup of tea and sat next to me. Heather was about to answer when a cry came from down the hall.

  “Oh, that’s Liam.”

“I’ll go, sugar,” Blade said as he climbed to his feet and strolled down the hallway. The women started chatting and I looked around at my surroundings, there was a huge fireplace with a fire guard in front of it, a large corner sofa and swivel chair. Big ass flat screen TV with surround sound, a corner of the room was filled with kids toys and the large kitchen was filled with bottles and children’s cups with all sorts of characters on them, from Frozen to Thomas the Tank Engine.

“Mummy.” A sob broke out from Liam as Blade rounded the corner and into the room with Liam sitting on his hip, his face was red from crying and he held a teddy to his chest.

“Here she is buddy.” Blade said as he plopped Liam down next to Heather on the swivel chair. Cammie jumped up and picked up Harley, laying him against her chest.

“What’s wrong baby?” Heather cooed as Liam climbed in her lap.

“Hug,” he said as he flung his small little arms around her neck.

“Shall we ask daddy to get you some milk?” She said as she rubbed her hand up and down his back. He nodded into her shoulder and Heather looked at Blade.

“Coming right up.” He strolled off into the kitchen and I looked down at Harley to see that he was still fast asleep, he never minded being passed from one person to another.

“We’ve set the spare room up for you. The moses basket is in there. I just hope the kids don’t disturb you in the morning, they get up early.” Heather said to us.

“Here we go, Sugar.” Blade passed her the bottle of warm milk as he squeezed onto the chair with her.

“Thanks,” he kissed her gently on the lips as Liam reached for the bottle. He settled against Heathers chest and guzzled down the contents from the bottle, his eyes were closing as he started falling back to sleep.

“I need to be up and gone early tomorrow anyway.” I told them all as Cammie let out a yawn beside me. “Come on, let’s get you to bed.” I stood up and scooped Harley into my arms. “Thanks again for letting her stay.”

“You’re all family,” Heather smiled. I nodded my head in appreciation and then led Cammie down the hallway and to bed.

  Mason

IT WAS NEARLY seven in the morning when I was just about ready to leave, I had planned to be on the road by six at the latest. I found it difficult to pry myself away from Cammie’s hot body.

“Call me, if you need anything.” I said to Cammie as I held her in my arms by the front door. Kelsey, Tegan and Liam were all sitting at the kitchen table having their breakfast, Heather was right when she said they would be up early. It was five in the morning when I heard the first patter of tiny feet running down the hall.

“We’ll be fine. Please be careful and come home to us.” Cammie stretched up on her tiptoes and kissed me firmly on the lips. I kissed Harley on the head as he laid in Cammie’s arms and shouted my goodbyes to everyone else.

“I’ll walk you down,” Blade said as he slapped me on the back. “You three, be good for mummy today. Sugar, if you need me, call. I’ll only be at the clubhouse today.”

“Bye, Mase. Love you, Kade.” Heather called out.

“Love you all,” he was answered with a load of love you daddy and bye.

“Love you,” I said once more to Cammie with a kiss.

  “We love you too.”

Blade pulled the door open and we walked down the stairs that led us to the side of the clubhouse. Just as I reached for my helmet that was hanging off the handlebars a load of shouting came from the front of the clubhouse.

“What the hell is going on this early?” Blade muttered as he stormed off around the corner with me hot on his heels.

What I didn’t expect was to see a woman who had been beaten badly, her clothes were covered in blood and a furious Riz paced in front of her. His hair was a mess, his clothes were creased as if he had slept in them and his fists were clenched along with his jaw.

“What’s going on?” Blade asked as he stepped closer to them. “Beauty?” he asked. She nodded her head, her chin trembled as she wrapped her arms around her middle, as a sign of comfort. I remember something about this chick, she worked at the strip club ‘Skins’, she usually had long straight dark hair and pale skin. Not dark, matted hair covered in blood and bruises forming on her arms, face and neck.

“Tell me what happened,” Blade demanded.

“Son, let’s get her inside,” Bear, Blade’s dad said as he slapped him on the shoulder. Blade nodded in agreement and we all filed into the clubhouse. Beauty sat down on the leather sofa and Anna, one of the club girls sat beside her, handing her a glass with brown liquid in it. Beauty slung back the shot and winced at the same time.

“What happened?” Riz asked, as his pacing slowed. I vaguely remember Blade saying something about one of the strippers that Riz had taken a liking too, that he was always at Skins when she was working. I didn’t know more than that, were they involved?

“A customer,” she took a deep breath. “He wanted to me to join him in the back room, you know I don’t do the back room, only dance and serve drinks.” Her eyes were focused on Riz.

  “I know,” he nodded.

“He wasn’t happy that I had refused. He said that girls like us were there to service him, make him happy, that we had to do whatever he wanted. He flashed a lot of cash at Anton, he stepped aside and let him drag me in there,” she sobbed and Anna comforted her the best way that she could.

  “Who’s Anton?” I asked Bear.

  “Club security.”

“Do you know who it was?” Blade asked her.

  “Parker,” she cried.

“Fuck!” Riz roared. “I’m going to kill them both.” He stormed out of the clubhouse and Blade followed him, shouting at him to stop. He clearly wasn’t listening.

“Let’s ride,” Blade shouted at the members that were sitting around. Everyone climbed to their feet and hurried out of the room. “You ok with her?” He asked Anna.

“Yeah, I’ll get her cleaned up and set up in a room.”

“You need my help?” I asked as I followed Blade out of the clubhouse.

“Na, man. Get to the job you’re needed for,” he squeezed my shoulder and I nodded my head at him. I watched as they all flew out of the compound. I needed to get a move on before I was late. I stra
ddled my bike, started her up and headed for Leicestershire.

  Drake

ASHLYN and I had gone out for a bike ride last night and just as we had hoped we were followed. Ashlyn was worried that they would make a move to get her and she calmed down once I told her that the black transit van that we had passed had Henry and Monkey in it. We only drove for ten minutes in a circle and the two bikes followed our every move. It had made me more positive that the plan would work.

“You awake, darlin’?” I nuzzled into Ashlyn’s back and she moaned in response, pushing her ass into my already hard cock. I slipped my hand over her waist and just as I was above to edge it into her underwear there was a loud bang on the door.

“Prospect, you better get out here,” Rooster shouted through the door.

“Hold that thought, darlin’. I’ll be back.” I jumped out of bed and stepped into my jeans, threw a t-shirt on and grabbed my jacket and gun. “What are you doing?” I turned around to see that Ashlyn had dressed quicker than me and she was slipping her feet into some flip flops. She always wore those bloody things no matter what the weather was like, I put my foot down and didn’t let her wear them on my bike.

“I’m coming with you,” she said defiantly. I heard a lot of commotion coming from down the hall, so I shook my head at her for being stubborn, grabbed her hand and yanked open the bedroom door. There was a flurry of activity in the bar and we headed that way.

“What’s going on?” I asked as we stopped by the side of Drum.

“The gift was early.” His sombre voice had me wondering why it had affected him, when he dealt with the girl yesterday that was dumped outside he carried on like it was just a normal day.

“What?” Ashlyn gasped as she pulled her hand out of mine and pushed her way through all of the people. I was close behind her and when she stopped dead in her tracks I almost knocked her over, I grabbed hold of her hips to steady her and jumped when she let out a piercing cry.

“No, no, no, no,” she sobbed as she fell to her knees by the side of the woman that laid on the floor. “Is she breathing? Is she alive?”

“No, Ashlyn. I’m sorry, she’s gone,” the doc said.

“Noooooo,” she cried as she placed her head on the woman’s chest and all I saw was that familiar fiery red hair. “Please, Amber. Wake up, please,” Ashlyn begged. The whole room was silent as Ashlyn cried for her friend.

“We need to get her moved,” Rooster said quietly to me. I knew what he was asking, he was asking for me to move Ashlyn.

“Come on, darlin’.” I whispered as I bent down and pulled her up with my hands under her arms.

“No. No,” she screamed as she got out of my hold. She turned around until she was facing me. “This is your fault,” she cried, poking me in the chest with her finger. “If you had let me go, when I wanted to, this wouldn’t have happened. She would still be alive. I’m the reason she is dead, why Henry’s face looks like that.” She pointed at Henry and we all glanced at him. He stood up straight and wiped at his eyes. Were they more than friends? I hadn’t picked up on that. “Why didn’t you let me go? Why?” She sobbed as she fell into my chest, gripping the sides of my t-shirt. I placed my hand on the back of her head and held her there as she soaked through my thin white t-shirt. I moved us to the side of the room as the guys carefully picked up Amber’s body, this couldn’t go on. We needed to get this sorted once and for all.

“I need to lie down,” Ashlyn whispered as she stepped back and looked over her shoulder to where Amber had been lying.

“They are getting ready to bury her.”

“What about her family? She should have a proper burial.”

“Her house is empty, everything has been packed up and there is no sign of anyone.”

“Oh,” her head dipped as she turned around and headed back to our bedroom.

I SAT at the bar when I heard Pipe calling out to Holes, my VP. I looked over my shoulder as he, Solar and Toes headed in my direction.

“VP.” I stood up as he shook my hand and slapped me on the back.

  “Everything ok? Where’s Ashlyn?”

“She’s lying down.” I grabbed the bottle of whiskey that I had been drinking from and a couple of extra glasses and nodded my head towards a table in the back. I poured us each a shot and we downed them. I explained all about what had happened while we had been away and about Amber.

“She’s not doing so good,” I exhaled, rubbing my hand on my jaw.

“Let’s get this shit done, when do we leave?” Solar asked. I was surprised when I looked up to see that it was starting to get dark outside. I was about to answer when a commotion was coming from the clubhouse door.

“How stupid are you? He’ll kill you.” Drum boomed as he rounded the corner with his large hand tightly fisted around the top of Ashlyn’s arm. “Look who I found? Heading in the direction of that address she was given.”

“What the fuck!” I fumed as I stormed towards them, pulling Ashlyn out of Drum’s hold. “What were you thinking?” I shouted at her.

“That I want this to all be over,” she screamed back at me.

“It will be, very soon,” I promised her.

“Let’s ride!” Pipe shouted. “Everyone get in position. Drake and Ashlyn, you’ll leave in thirty minutes. Not a minute before.”

“Got it.” I said to him as I pulled Ashlyn into my side, kissing the top of her head. We stood by and watched Pipe, Rooster, Monkey, Drum, Henry, Solar, Toes and Holes climb onto their bikes and head away from the compound, splitting into two groups in case they were followed.

  “What now?” Ashlyn asked.

“Now, we wait.” I held her against my body, praying that everything went smoothly and that I wasn’t about to have the most precious thing in my life taken away from me.

  Ashlyn

MY BODY TREMBLED as I climbed onto the back of Drake’s bike and secured my arms around his waist. He placed his hands on mine and gave them a squeeze. We already had our helmets on and our mics were turned on ready so we could talk.

  “I love you, Drake.”

“No, don’t do that. It sounds like you’re getting ready to say goodbye.”

“No, just telling you how I feel. I’m so glad I met you. You make me happy.”

“You make me happy too, darlin’. Let’s get this shit dealt with so we can go back to Cornwall and make you officially my Old Lady.”

“I like the sound of that.” I squeezed him with my arms and he started the bike up. We slowly rode out of the compound and down the street, once we rounded the next corner I heard the distinct sound of bikes behind us.

“They’re following us,” he informed me. I closed my eyes and hoped to God that this would all be over very soon. “Shit, they’re gaining on us. Hold on tight, darlin’.” I squeezed my arms and thighs around him as the bike surged forwards. Last time we went for a ride they stayed at a safe distance, why weren’t they doing that this time? Had they somehow found out our plan? I yelped as two bikes rode on either side of us, each one getting closer and closer.

“Dray, they’re going to crash into us,” I screamed.

“Hold on,” he muttered, as the bike picked up speed once more, causing Drake to have to swerve in and out of traffic. I looked behind us to see that the bikes had backed off when we turned off left onto a quieter road. “Nearly there, darlin’.”

“Drake!” I screamed at the top of my lungs when a white truck came out of nowhere and crashed into the front of Drake’s bike. We spun around in circles and I screamed as the bike flipped through the air, throwing us both off. I tried to hold onto Drake for as long as I could but it was like we were opposite sides of a magnet, repelling against each other, no matter how much I tried, I couldn’t hold on. I slammed to the ground, the wind being knocked out of me. I didn’t move, I couldn’t, I hurt everywhere. I tried looking around for Drake, once I spotted him lying on the side of the road not moving I tried climbing to my feet, only to be pulled to my feet and my h
elmet to be yanked off. I cried out in pain as my neck twisted.

“Hello, Ashlyn.” The one person I never wanted to see again was stood in front of me, with a devilish smirk on his face.

“No,” I sobbed, trying to pull my arm out of his grasp. “Drake!” I yelled for help and he still didn’t move. Why wasn’t he moving?

“Get her in the van,” Switch yelled as he pushed me towards someone else. Strong hands gripped my arms and I winced in pain.

“I’ll go, I’ll go with you. Just please call an ambulance for him first. Please, I won’t be any trouble,” I pleaded. Switch nodded at the bloke that was behind me and I sighed in relief as his grip disappeared. I watched as a tall, broad man dressed all in leather walked up to Drake and nudged him with his foot.

“He’s unconscious and bleeding out, boss.”

“He’s not going to make it, he’ll be dead before the ambulance gets here,” Switch said as he went to grab me again, I dodged him and ran towards Drake, falling beside him on my knees. I flipped open the visor on his helmet, his eyes were closed and he was cold.

“We can’t just leave him here,” I stroked my hand down his face as I saw Switch and the other bloke headed for me. There was no use in running anymore, I wouldn’t get far. “I’m sorry, I’m so sorry. I love you Drake, I love you.”

“WHAT THE HELL is taking so long? Shouldn’t they be here by now?” I asked Pipe as I glanced at my watch for the third time in five minutes. We were all waiting outside of an abandoned slaughterhouse. Our plan was to get Drake and Ashlyn to lead the Satan’s here, so we could be rid of them once and for all. So Ashlyn didn’t have to keep looking over her shoulder every two minutes and so our families could get on with their lives without having to be on a constant lockdown. I wanted to be able to take my son to the park without three other brothers having to come with us.
