Death Be Shifted (The Terra Vane Series Book 6) Page 26

by Katie Epstein

Our vampire and witch friends were watching a movie upstairs on the screen that our tech-geek dragon shifter had set-up for them. Libby, the lust demon, who liked to get under my skin and would love to get Kaleb beneath the sheets, had joined them when she couldn’t get a rise out of me.

Bernard shouted back, “Grab more wine!”

And with the list in hand we were on our way.

Opening the door, I didn’t expect to be seeing Grady standing there, his hand raised about to ring the bell. He looked tired. Defeated. And he had bags around his ankles.

“Hey, Vane,” he said, even his voice sounding as if it had lost the will. “I finally have my answer.”

DEATH BE RISING … coming soon!

  Dear Readers,

  Acknowledgments

So many awesome people work on the Terra Vane series, and without them and their pearls of wisdom it wouldn’t be what it is today.

Always a work in progress—me, as well as the books—it’s because of these people taking time out of their busy schedules do I get to learn and grow as an author. It’s a forever-moving journey, and I couldn’t do it alone.

To Katie-Bree Reeves, my editor. I can’t thank you enough for your support, professionally and personally. You always step outside of your remit to not only edit the work, but beta read it too. Your feedback is invaluable, and I’ve made Terra cry less!

Thank you to my beta readers. Your advice is second to none and helps me to shift perspective, dig deeper, or remove my rose-colored glasses. You’re superstars, and please know I am forever grateful.

To Christianmichael who not only points out where I’ve gone all ’British’ on the American English. But who forces me to step aside from the book and take a long, hard look at myself. You toughen me up in all the right ways. Thank you.

To Marta. I’ve dedicated this book to you because your feedback helped immensely with the character development of Cole and Brent. You took me out of the detail and helped me to don the hat of a reader, as well as a writer. You helped this story grow, and your feedback is invaluable. Thank you for believing in the series.

To my friend Steph who has been a rock during some tumultuous times, always providing an ear, offering sage advice, and for seeing beyond the veil. Thank you.

My husband always has to get a mention. He’ll pout if he doesn’t. But he deserves it. You had a lucky escape for a reason, and we’re more than grateful to have you here with us. Thank you for always being there.

And to my best buds who I adore with all my heart. Serenity, please, don’t ever embrace normal. It won’t suit you. And Cameron, your star shines so brightly, all you need to do is remove the shades to see it. I’m proud of both of you, always remember that.

To my family I thank you.

To my friends I thank you.

And to my readers I thank you for sticking with this journey.
