Twisted games: A Dark High School Bully Romance (Wexley Exclusive Prep Book 1) Page 3

by Slash, Ana

That’s the moment I heard a deep male voice say “knock it off, Helen.”

  Helen winced and turned around.

  I did too.

I noticed this incredibly handsome dark natural tanned guy leaning across the lockers. He looked perfect in his grey jacket and red uniform pants. I bit my lower lip.

He said, “You heard me Helen, let go.”

Helen shrugged and called her girls off. They scoffed and walked away.

I couldn’t help what’s the staring into his gorgeous eyes.

  I said, “Thanks.”

  He said, “It’s nothing.”

His gorgeous hypnotic eyes followed my every move.

I kept my eyes on him and then

  Holy fuck—

I hit a locker and damn—

  It hurt like hell.

  “Ouch!”

I figured oh my god what’s wrong with me? I dare not look at him, he’s probably laughing now.

The mean girls noticed and burst out laughing, “Well, looks like will not have to get rid of you after all. You will do it yourself.”

I thought could they be any more evil?

Suddenly, I heard a familiar voice, “Wow, you are there!”

I winced and turned around and smiled. It was Susan.

  She smiled.

I beamed and thought, “Thank God she is here.”

She said, “Oh my god what happened to you?”

She noticed the bruise on my face from the locker.

I said it's no big deal just a minor accident she nodded and then she looked up.

  She blushed.

I wondered why did she blush? I noticed she was looking at the hot guy across the way. She slid her long hair behind her ears and tried her best to focus on me.

I sighed, I looked up once more, and he was gone. I thought holy fuck there are a lot of hot guys in this school I wonder what’s coming up next.

“Is he gone?” Susan asked her face bright red. I giggled. My face still hurt but hell, I have never seen tough Susan so shook up. He must be something else but then just who is he?

  5

“Oh my god you met Killian!”

  “Killian?”

Yes one of the Hot Boys, they run this school. More on that later. I am so happy to have you here. Let me introduce you to my friends!

I nodded. Susan waved at two students, a guy and a girl. They waved back and walked towards us.

Susan smiled and said, “Hi let me introduce it to my friends. Lisa and Ethan. Lisa, Ethan this is Bella.”

“Hi Bella.” They said. I nodded.

  “Great to meet you two.”

Susan then added, “They transferred from another school. We all all on the same scholarship.”

I nodded and thought, was it the same scholarship mom mentioned, I needed to stay at Wexley next semester?

Lisa said, “I’m so sorry your first day started off meeting the bad girls. Don’t worry, It will get better. I’ve been here a year now. I came in as a junior and seriously, those girls are terrible. They are something else. They have it bad for the “IT” guys.”

I raised an eyebrow and asked, “The bad boys?”

  They nodded.

“We must stick together to get what we deserve at this institution.”

  I shrugged.

Honestly, I had no intentions of completing the entire year here.

I said, “I will not be here all year. I plan on returning to my old school. I was top of my class there.”

Oh dear, I sounded like a broken record.

Lisa giggled. She said, “You might find it hard to be top of the class here.”

I cocked an eyebrow and asked, “Why?”

She said, “Well they will not let you win.”

  I folded my arms.

  “Who?”

She sighed and said, “Listen forget it. Let’s not be late for class. You will learn more about it later.”

I sighed and but oh my god there she goes again.

We made our way down the pristine hallway leading to our first class.

I accepted Lisa and Ethan’s request to be friends.

I figured, great at least I have real friends here. They are my Crew.

I realized they can’t always protect me from what might happen at this institution. But they definitely have some insights.

“Stay away from the IT Boys or sometimes called the Hot guys especially, Maxim Knight.”

  Lisa teased.

I thought, here we go with this Maxim Knight thing.

  “Who?”

“His name is Maxim, One of the Hot Guys, definitely avoid him.”

  Ethan nodded.

Susan said “Yeah I already told her to stay away from him.”

  Lisa said, “Good.”

Ethan added, “And then you have Killian James.”

I giggled. Ethan raised an eyebrow.

  Killian, such a cool name.

Why am I thinking about his name right now?

I can’t lie, I wanted to learn more about the hot boys and what made them tick.

They seemed interesting. It would be great to learn more about them.

That’s when Ethan added, “They’re up to no good. They play twisted games.”

  “Twisted games?” I asked.

“Yes. I heard they, hmm… excuse my language, fucked every girl in this school including the scholarship and transfer girls.”

I chuckled and said, “I will be no one’s conquest. That would not happen to me.”

“Noted,” Lisa said. “Then we have Mateo! Mateo is dark and handsome. You have not met him yet because he tends to show up late to school every year. His parents donate millions to this school. So, I guess that makes him feel entitled. Rumor has it, he’s having an affair with an administrator don’t ask.“

  I gasped, “is that allowed?”

She said, “He’s an adult. The school knows about it. But they have done nothing to stop it.”

I sighed. We got into the class and sat down.

I heard the same girls I met earlier seated in the back-row snicker.

It wasn’t bad enough they bullied me earlier; now they shot me a dark stare? I don’t understand it all.

I shrugged and thought, “What’s that about?”

  The teacher got distracted.

Jessica one of the hot girls blew a bubble. She popped it and drew the gum back into her mouth.

She said in a low threatening voice, “You will be gone before the end of the week.”

I shook my head and scoffed. She had no idea, I had a self-imposed deadline too.

I didn’t want to be here through the winter break.

No, I planned to make a move. So, my mom would have no choice but to send me back to my previous school.

I will be the valedictorian at my old school instead.

  Soon the morning classes ended.

It was time for lunch and recess.

  Lisa grabbed my hand.

She said, “We have to hurry. Let’s get my favorite lunchroom table.”

I chuckled and thought, "What’s the big deal?”

  6

We hurried and laughed all the way to the lunchroom.

I wondered what could possibly go wrong now? As expected, Everyone hung out in cliques.

The nerds on one end. The hot guys on the other. Then the hot girls paced the room taunting students at will.

Am I in a movie or something. This cannot be reality!

I couldn’t help it, I stared at handsome Maxim seated at a distance with his friends.

He narrowed his eyes on me.

I winced and averted his gaze. Yet I couldn’t help it, I kept staring at him.

  Lisa and Susan frowned.

Susan said, “You really need to quit looking at him. You already know he’s bad news.”

  I sighed.

I didn’t dare mention my pleasurable time with him on the beach. I often fantasized about the memory of that day. I picture
d Maxim someday taking my virginity.

I took in a deep breath and exhaled. Then I ate my lunch.

I glanced over at his table from time to time. Killian the guy I met earlier sat next to him. They stared at me and exchanged words.

Irritated, Susan whispered, “Oh god Bella could you please stop staring at them. Please don’t attract their attention to our table.”

  I shrugged.

“What’s the big deal? We are all rich here.”

  Susan shook her head.

She said: “I won’t get too comfortable saying that here because your new stepdad might be rich but not Maxim’s father Rich.”

I swallowed and sighed. Susan seemed to know a lot about his dad and my new step dad why is that?

  Oh well—

Guess I am not ready to be part of this elitist school then.

I should focus on my studies.

  I scanned the room.

I noticed the silicon enhanced red haired girl, Helen leaning on Maxim pushing her large cleavage on his face.

  Are they together? I wondered.

The other hot guy, Killian had a hot girl hanging on to him too.

They turned and stared at me.

  I flinched and turned away.

  They laughed out loud.

I thought oh my God if this is what it’s like on the first day? What will happen throughout the year?

I narrowed my eyes at their table once more. I couldn’t help it. Killian’s eyes met mine. He smirked mischievously; I averted his gaze.

I knew he didn’t want me here.

I thought Maxim must recall we shared on the beach that night?

Killian stood up as though ready to make his way to our table. I swallowed; my heart fluttered. Oh no, this should be interesting. But then Maxim stopped him. Instead, Maxim stood up, whispered something to Killian. I wondered what he said to him.

  * * *

Moments later, I watched as Maxim walked stoically towards our table.

I thought, holy fuck, he will finally tell everyone we shared something special. Who knows, he might persuade me to change my mind? I might spend the whole year at Wexley.

Yes, I know it is insane, but these thoughts ran through my head.

As he got closer, my heart thumped faster. I thought it would explode. I could barely sit still. Susan, Lisa and Ethan’s eyes widened. They stared at the table to avoid making eye contact with him. But I kept my eyes on him. He stood close and remarked:

“You should probably eat outside, trouble. Lisa, you know the rules.”

Lisa swallowed. I scoffed and said:

  “No, we will eat here.”

My crew looked horrified. I raised an eyebrow.

  “What?” I asked.

They shook their head and stayed silent.

He stared at me like a tiger looking at its prey or a lion ready to pounce. I gasped. Holy fuck—

I got nervous as hell. What was he going to do?

My palms got sweaty as he leaned over me.

  oh my God—

His lavender fragrance engulfed my senses, I imagined he had on the most expensive perfume ever created in the universe.

I must admit, having him close turned me on.

He leaned in and whispered into my ears, “Lets talk.”

I swallowed and got up. He led me to the center of the room. Silence followed, I mean you could hear a pin drop.

Oh, my is this really happening?

Is he going to talk about our special night?

No, instead I winced when he said,

“Your nipple wants out of your shirt. Plus you are weak you don’t belong here. The weak ones are the first to go.”

I gasped, looked down and sure enough, my right nipple was exposed for all to see. I quickly popped it back in and hurried back to my seat, but not before most of the students in the lunchroom laughed out loud.

Some girl yelled, “How do you expect to stay in such a dignified school exposing yourself like that?”

I wanted the floor to open up!

Tears welled up in my eyes.

I got up and past the iron doors to the outside seating area.

Lisa, Susan, and Ethan hurried after me.

But the hot girls and guys stopped them before they made it out the door.

“Let her go there, where she belongs. You get back to the table.”

Then the iron double doors slammed shut!

  Stuck outside, I winced.

  Holy Hell—

Why are they letting these guys and girls run their lives?

I was all alone in the outside sitting area.

I gasped and tried opening the door to no avail. I was certain someone locked it.

I looked through the lunchroom windows. I noticed the hot guys and girls laughing. I couldn’t believe it.

  They locked me out.

I struggled with the lock, but it would not budge.

  Why are they doing this?

What did they freaking gain from this?

I struggled with the lock but no it wouldn’t open.

Then I heard the bell sound and watched as the students hurried to their respective classrooms.

  I gasped.

I couldn’t believe they left me out here all alone.

I spun around and palmed my face.

I cried out why are they doing this? It hurts.

Yes, I come from the school of hard knocks, but nothing like this has ever happened on the first day. This was the last thing I needed.

Shortly after, I tried the lock once more, and it opened!

I hurried through the door and down the hallway leading to class.

But when I tried opening the door, but someone locked it.

The teacher ignored me and continued teaching.

I frowned and thought, great now I can’t even attend my first class.

That is the moment, the assistant principal walked by.

She said, “Young lady, why are you not in class? Playing truancy on your first day is not the way we work in our established elite school!”

I gasped and thought lady if you knew what I just freaking went through you would not ask.

But I couldn’t say that to the school’s assistant principal now, could I?

So, I stayed silent and listened as she rehashed the school’s rules.

  She said, “Come with me.”

  I swallowed.

Great! Now I have to step into her office. What else could go wrong now? I wondered why did my crew not stand up to the hot guys?

I sighed and followed her into her office.

  “Seat down.”

  I did as she requested.

  I straightened my pleated skirt.

I glanced at the pictures on the wall.

“A lot of dignitaries have gone through these walls, Ms…” She began. Then she glanced down at her files, I guess she did not know my name.

  She said, “Ms. Myers.”

  I nodded.

“You understand that there are families that want to be here. We had to give up a spot because your new dad is a proud member and patron of this glorious institution. Not attending classes is against the rules here? Why on earth will you do that?”

  I sighed and remained silent.

Finally, I couldn’t help it any longer.

I blurted out, “Someone locked me out!”

“Who?” She asked sliding her glasses down to the tip of her nose.

“The…” I began, but the words stayed stuck in my throat.

The truth is, I wanted to tell her the hot guys and the bad girls did it. But what proof did I have? None. I took in a deep breath and exhaled, thinking what is going to happen now? Am I in trouble?

  7

  Ms. Price shook her head.

She said, “You know, why can’t you just try your best that’s all we expect from you here.”

  Holy fuck—

I heard why don’t you just leave?

Then she said, “This is a
warning. Next time will be worse.”

  I swallowed.

I wanted to tell her the bad boys and the hot girls caused all this. But the words didn’t come out of my mouth. Instead, I waited until she said, “Get back to class.”

  I did as she requested.

The moment I got close to the Class door, the bell rang.

I sighed and watched as the students scrambled out of the class laughing.

I look into the class and notice Maxim standing by the window.

“Say something to him, Bella,” I whispered underneath my breath.

  So I did.

I walked up to him ready to learn why he is acting this way!

That’s the moment Killian stepped between us.

He said, “I wouldn’t say anything if I were you, dirt. I think it’s best to leave in fact why don’t you just do everyone a favor here and do so.”

I wanted to die at that moment.

  I couldn’t believe it.

  Why is this happening?

I frowned and said, “I am not going anywhere. I earned the right to be here.”

One of the hot girls, Samantha responded: “Oh, Somebody feels entitled. Just because your mom fucked the rich guy does not give you the right to be here. You have no idea what you’re dealing with. To be honest, the sooner you leave the better we will all feel.”

And with that, they walked past me. I sighed, I guess I am in for a wild ride.

  * * *

The next set of classes were a blur.

I just wanted to get done with classes and head on home.

Finally, after the final bell, Susan and Lisa walked up to me.

I said to them, “Well look who just turned up when I really needed you? Yes, you were nowhere to be found.”

  They swallowed.

Lisa gasped and said, “We told you not to mess with them, but you wouldn’t listen.”

  I laughed.

Then, I said, “Listen I’ve been through crazy things before. I will not back down now. Besides, I don’t understand what they have against me. What do they have to gain from this?”

Susan said, “Maybe they see you as a threat, you definitely have Stella grades?”

I laughed and said, “I seriously doubt that’s it.”
