by Laramie Briscoe

“Your mom is right.” I hear the deep voice at my back. “Just because I had a rough day doesn’t mean I want you to tiptoe around me. I want you to always be the kids you are,” he drops to a knee, grimacing as he does so, holding his arms open for both of the girls.

They scramble off the bed with the excitement of young girls. I wish I could go back, be their age again, when I had worries, but I wasn’t old enough to know what it meant yet.

Harley kisses his cheek loudly. “There, you’re all better now!”

“Feel a million times better already.” He gives her a grin. “C’mon, let’s get you two to bed.”

He grasps the doorframe as he levers his body up, slowly limbering over to me. “You go do what you need to.” He reaches down, cupping a hand around my neck. “I got bedtime duty tonight.”

Nodding, I stand, grasping his free hand in mine. “Love you.” I raise up on my tiptoes, kissing him on the jaw.

“Love you too.” He holds onto my hand until our fingers can no longer touch.

I’m slow with my nighttime routine tonight, just because I’m still not sure how to react to the shit that happened today. It’s in a haze that I brush my teeth, take my makeup off, tone and moisturize my skin before taking my clothes off and walking into the bedroom in only my matching bra and panties.

Drew is there now, sitting on our bed. He took a hot shower as soon as he came home, and I haven’t been there yet, but honestly it’s the last thing on my mind. More than anything, I wanna make sure he’s okay. His hands are dropped between his spread thighs, his head dropped in the same dejected way. His knuckles are black and blue already, swollen, pulling tightly at the skin. The jawline I love to death is equally bruised and swollen. I’m worried about his back too, but he swears up and down he doesn’t need to see Ashley.

“You okay?” I walk over, lifting his head up with my hands, nudging myself in between his thighs.

“No.” He shakes his head, his voice hoarse. When I force his eyes to meet mine, I see tears in his. “Fuckin’ thought you were gone when I saw the front of that building give way.” He wraps his arms around my waist, burying his head in my chest. “The one kryptonite I have is you, Char. They can fuck with everything, and I know it’s not right, but they can even fuck with my club.” He sniffles. “But if you weren’t here? Goddamn, I don’t know what I would do. How would I raise these kids? How would I get out of bed every day knowing you wouldn’t be there to smile at me?”

His tortured tone kills me. Pulling away, I lean down, kissing those semi-bruised lips softly. “You’re strong, Drew. You don’t need me to live your life.”

“That’s where you’re wrong.” He holds on tighter. “Everything I do is for you. It’s for us so that I can make life easier for our family, and you’re the backbone.” He digs his fingers into my hips.

The tears are pricking at the back of my eyes now. I sniff as I smile down at him. “You give me too much credit, Andrew Walker.”

“Nah babe, you don’t take enough credit.”

That’s it, I have to kiss him, to let him know how much his words mean to me. It’s soft, slow, and passionate all at the same time. His split lips move against mine, his tongue sliding against the roof of my mouth. We chase each other as he stands, which makes it a little harder to stay connected, but we manage. Walking until my back presses against the wall, we kiss, touch, and enjoy the taste of each other. We pull apart, his palms press against the wall, caging me in. Funny, no matter how long we’ve been together, this particular move always makes my heart beat harder.

“I love you,” he whispers as he nuzzles against my neck, kissing and nipping, forcing me to tilt my head back to give him enough room.

“I love you too.” I grab hold of his ass, squeezing as he noses away the scalloped edge of my bra.

The hot, moist feel of his mouth when he closes his lips around my nipple is enough to make my eyes close, a moan escaping from my throat. He applies pressure, sucking slightly and then laving it with the gentle pressure of his tongue. God, it’s enough to send heat traveling through my body.

“Drew,” I gasp as he gives the same treatment to the other one.

“Let’s get this off of you.”

He’s winding a spell around the two of us as he reaches behind me, unhooking the hooks of my bra, throwing it behind us. His bruised hands cup my tits as his thumbs sneak up to tease the still-wet nipples. Pressing back against the wall, I thrust my chest into his touch, wanting nothing more than to let him take me away from everything we’ve been through today. Those same hands sneak down past my ribcage, to my hipbones, thrusting under the lace of my panties. With a few quick movements, my core is bare.

One of those hands of his goes back beside my head, forcing me to pay close attention to his face. My eyes search the lips I love, the cheekbones, the slight beard that scratches against my skin, and those eyes. Those fucking eyes that always see what I’m trying to hide. I can’t keep anything from this man, he knows the minute I try.

His other hand moves between my thighs, his finger slips between my lips, causing me to inhale a shaky breath, pressing as close as I can to him.

“I’m not even inside you yet, and you’re already so wet,” he chuckles, a shit-eating grin playing against his lips.

“You know you’re good at this.” I push against his pecs.

He stumbles back slightly, laughing at my expense. To see that smile across his face after today though? He can laugh at me all he wants to.

“Only good at it because you were willing to help a virgin out,” he growls, grabbing hold of my ear in between his teeth.

This time I giggle. “I was a virgin too, it’s not like I had any earth-shattering advice to give you.”

“But you were patient and together we learned how to do this.”

My eyes run from the top of his head to the tented boxer-briefs at his mid-section. “We sure did learn how to do this. Pretty good too, if I recall correctly.”

He gives me a look. “Ain’t been that long since the last time.”

“Maybe you can give me a refresher.”

“Ohhh she’s sassy tonight.” He whistles.

“Maybe I am, you know glad to be alive and all,” I push against him again, strutting over to our bed. Once there, I lean forward, propping up on my elbows, my ass presented to him. “The question is what are you going to do about it?”

I glance over my shoulder, watching him slowly walk over to me. That swagger he sometimes has is in full effect. “Oh, I got an idea or two.”

“Can’t wait to give it a try.” I shake my ass at him.

When his hand comes down with a loud crack against my flesh, I know tonight’s going to be exactly what we both need.

  Chapter Thirteen

  Drew

After the day I’ve had, I’m dying to sink into the wet heat of my wife. There’s nothing else that helps keep me grounded like being with her. Many men who live the biker lifestyle will say there’s nothing like the freedom of straddling their bike and letting the wind blow through their hair. While that’s true, and it is my freedom, my wife is pulpit where I kneel and beg God for forgiveness. Fuck she is my forgiveness. Anything I’ve ever done wrong in my life, I’ve worked through buried deep inside her heat. Right now I need that forgiveness, that understanding. I need something more than what I’ve been getting, and I know I’m going to get it from her.

“I don’t wanna hurt you.” My voice is brutally honest. “But I’m raw after today, and I need to feel. I need to know you’re okay, I need to know I’m okay,” I admit. “To know we’re gonna make it through this and out on the other side. It feels like it’s never going to be over.”

She reaches behind her, grasping my thigh in between her fingers. “I need it too, Drew. Need it too so much.” She presses toward me, urging me to do what we both want me to.

Pushing my boxer-briefs down, I take a deep breath before I use the head of my cock to tease against her clit
. She’s warm and everything I want. Closing my eyes, I feed my length into her pussy, grabbing hold of her hips and throwing my head back. “Fuuuuccckkkk.” the word is drug out on the length of my thrust. It’s the only thing that keeps me from exploding on the spot. That’s the type of effect she has on me, and has always had on me.

As I pull out, I pause to collect myself, feeling sweat already break across my forehead and the tops of my shoulders. It gathers, running down my back, pooling at the dip, before coating my ass. I’m hyper aware of everything going on between us, and damn if everything isn’t a turn on. “You feel good,” I groan as I press back inside, this time a little faster.

“Yes!” she moans, grasping the comforter between her fingers, using it to help her leverage against me.

Back and forth we move against one another. Rough and furious, fast and passionate until it seems like those feelings are purged from us. Eventually we start moving slower, more deliberately against one another. Placing my arms around her waist, I grasp, pulling out and flipping her over onto her back.

“Oh my fuck,” she groans as she situates herself against the mattress, throwing her arms up over her head, giving her body completely over to me. This is my favorite thing: the way she trusts me.

A chuckle works its way from my throat as I hear her. I feel the same way, but I can’t seem to make myself express it through words. Instead I express it with my body. She whimpers, stretching to accommodate me from this angle. My forehead presses against hers as she sighs and I shudder. In this position I feel closer to her than I ever have. I press in, stopping to breathe before I pull back again. Her hands slide against the sweat-covered flesh of my back as I plunge in and pull out, setting a steady rhythm between the two of us. The noise in the room is the soundtrack to how we feel about one another. The push, the pull, the gasp, the whispered curse word. All of it is how we get through, how we deal with the feelings between us.

“Don’t stop, Drew,” she pants, hitching her legs around my waist, digging her heels into my ass.

“Never, will never fucking stop when it comes to you.” Our breathes mingles, and she kisses me passionately as she pushes up against me.

“I’m so close.” She grinds against my length. “Can you go harder?”

The request is so sweet, I can’t help but do what she asks. Picking up the pace, I thrust harder, press deeper, kiss her more passionately as the two of us come together. There’s no other place in the world I feel more at peace than I do right here in her arms. The whole world outside could be burning down and I wouldn’t give a fuck, because this is all I need.

Breath? Food? Drink? Fuck it. I could live on this pussy and her love for the rest of my life. As long as I have my family, I have everything. No matter who tries to come between us, they’ll never be able to break the bond we have.

She pulls away from my lips, moaning loudly as I feel her clench against me. Her pussy tightening is all I need to blow. My rhythm falters as I groan into her neck, letting go deep inside her.

“Are you leaving here today?” I ask Charity as we’re moving around the kitchen the next morning.

“We’re going to your mom and dad’s since I don’t have a damn office right now, and all I really have is my laptop. Yesterday was their last day of school. I’m going to be emailing clients to let them know I’ll be out of commission for a while and emailing the court to ask for continuances on things that require me to. I have to call the insurance company too, let them know what’s happened and see how long it will be until I can get it fixed,” she sighs, taking a drink of her coffee. “I have a feeling this is going to be one trying day, especially if they say something about this being the second time an incident has happened at the office.”

I reach up, massaging her shoulders. “Things will be fine, babe.”

She cuts her eyes up at me. “You tellin’ me that, or yourself?” she asks with a smartass grin.

“Maybe I’m telling the both of us,” I fire back at her, tilting my head at her and wrinkling my nose at the same time. “Since I’m going to the clubhouse to get a few things done this morning, I’ll follow you ladies out there.”

I’m not fooling my wife. “You don’t have to, we’ll be fine.”

The girls, however, are excited as hell I’ll be following them. They’re talking over one another, until Harley stands up in her seat. “Daddy, can I ride the bike with you?”

It’s her favorite thing in the world, and I hate to say no to her. I’ve continually said that this won’t change our lives, it shouldn’t change how we go about our day to day. And I don’t want them to worry, I don’t want the girls to know exactly what’s going on, but they should be scared of the situation. That’s not how I’ve ever wanted them to grow up. So many times in my childhood I worried, and I promised myself they wouldn’t. They don’t wonder where their next meal is coming from. They know any day of the week they can look in our fridge, and even though it might not be full, it’s got something for them to eat. Which is a luxury I didn’t always have.

“Sure, but you have to listen to me. If I tell you something, don’t question me,” I lay the law down with her. She sits down in her seat, eating her breakfast. Sometimes she likes to try and spread her wings, to see how far she can push us. This isn’t the time for her to push, and I need her to understand I mean business. My girls are innocent in most everything, and at ten I know they’ll never have to be like Mandy and I were. Taking care of each other, latch-key kids, and never asking Mom for anything more than ten bucks. These girls are spoiled compared to how I was raised for the first part of my life, but I can’t help but want to give them more than I ever had.

Which I guess is what every parent wants.

“I know.” She nods, taking a bite of her syrup covered waffle.

“No, this isn’t like normal, Harley. Not when you can sometimes try me; I’m serious when I tell you to listen.” I walk over to her, holding out my pinky finger. “Do you swear?”

She puts her fork down, putting out her pinky, hooking it with mine. “I swear, Dad. I just wanna ride.”

“Jesus,” Charity laughs. “I thought I’d have a few more years before I heard those words from her.”

“She’s got the bug.” I reach out, messing up Harley’s hair. She doesn’t even say anything because she knows it won’t matter on the back of the bike. “Don’t ya?”

“It’s the wind.” She grins. “The way it wooshes around me. I love that sound, love that feeling.”

And that is how I know this girl is one hundred percent, completely mine.

  Chapter Fourteen

  Drew

“You ready?” I ask Harley as the two of us sit on my bike, her in front of me. Besides Charity, she’s the most precious cargo I’ve ever carried on here, and it makes me happy she enjoys something I do. Charity and I lucked out with kids who share our interests.

We’ve both got our helmets on, because that’s what Charity requires when I have her on the bike. It’s a warm day already and I wish I could take mine off. At least it’s not a damn full-face one, but it’s still warm enough while we’re sitting here with no air flow.

“Y’all be careful,” Charity warns as she and Justice walk to the SUV. She stops, giving us both a talking to. I know it’s just as much for me, as it is for Harley. “I don’t like that you’ll be behind me.” She grabs hold of Harley’s hand. “I’d rather watch your back.”

“That’s okay, Mom, it’s our job to watch yours,” Harley says the words just like a fucking grown up, I’m proud as hell of her. If there will ever be a female member of the Heaven Hill MC, it very well might be her.

“That’s my job.” I tickle her sides, causing her to giggle in the carefree way of a child. “I’ve got all your backs.”

Charity’s eyes meet mine. We have a whole conversation in the span of five seconds. “That’s what bothers me, there’s no one at your back.”

Giving her a cocky wink, I say my next words with more
confidence than what I really have. “I can handle it.”

“I know you can handle it, but I don’t want you to.” She leans in, kissing me on the cheek. “See you when we get there.”

“See you, hot momma,” I yell after her, whistling loudly between my teeth.

She turns around, a smirk on her face. “Stop trying to butter me up.”

  “Never gonna stop!”

“Can’t hear you.” She plays along.

“Where did you learn how to do that?” Harley asks as the two girls get situated in the SUV.

“Do what?” I’ve done so much in the span of a few minutes, I don’t even know what she’s asking me about.

“Whistle like that. Christine can too, she said she learned from Jagger.”

Something in the back of my mind clicks at what she says, but I can’t place it. “Yeah, Jagger taught me how, too.”

Harley and I wait as we watch Charity leave the driveway in her SUV. I let them get a little bit farther ahead of us before I put the bike in gear and slightly spin gravel. It gives Harley a thrill and allows me to relive a little piece of my youth I haven’t been able to touch with a ten-foot pole lately.

Turning out onto Porter Pike, we follow the SUV, but I can hear Harley over the minimal air. “I wish she’d go faster.”

I do too, but I can’t say that; I’m supposed to be a good influence. Doesn’t mean I don’t feel the same way sometimes. This is the time when I become Dad, and not the guy who loves to ride fast on the back of his bike. “She’s just being safe,” I remind my daughter. “It’s not easy for her to leave you back here and not be able to see what’s in front of you.”

Funny how I know that now that I’m a parent. I used to always be pissed at my mom for not letting us do what we wanted to, but now I understand it more than ever.
