the form of a Sun. If this energy was supposedly everywhere… Could it also exist somewhere in cyberspace? In spite of all doubts and uncertainties, Arthur cherished the deep intuition that only such figure could justify and provide a sense and vigor to the dramatic situation he was living. However, he also realized that such assumptions were not more than mere vague ideas and hypothesis.
In any case, as he had nothing better to spend his time on, Arthur started to browse around cyberspace typing terms such as “sun” “light” and “war” in the Google search engine, and eventually arrived at a website where oddly enough he could download a relatively short text called “The Solar Doctrine”, which corresponded to a complementary novel of “The Solar Warrior” trilogy. In the trilogy´s cover-art there were quite appealing images that immediately induced in him thoughts that directly connected him to the deep contents of his recent dream. “There might be something here that can help me” -he thought, so he downloaded “The Solar Doctrine” e-book and read the first page that immediately invited the reader to a journey.
“This Doctrine is the doorway that opens a cosmic spiral into the Solar center of yourself”
Even though we might all have our doubts with regard to the possibility of Arthur being “the chosen one”, we can´t however dismiss the fact that he courageously chose himself to face a completely new and fascinating journey in his life.
A Noble life
At a first glance, in the room of the hospital where this story is taking place, we can point out the presence of four patients: our friend Arthur, who we are getting to know little by little with regard to his human vicissitudes, and the presence of other three individuals: Martin, Gregorio and Marcus.
In a second glance, this is, allowing the most effective modes of manifestation of such individuals to be projected into the foreground of our narration, we have “Arthur the Cyborg”, “Martin the pessimist”, “Gregorio the victimizer”, and “Marcus the grouchy”. The four patients suffered from chronic diseases related to the digestive and coronary systems.
Yet Arthur, while wrapped up and cocooned as “Arthur the Cyborg” was deeply alienated from the actual reality of the room and any of its actual circumstances. But this wasn´t anything new, since alienation always constituted a natural condition of existence for Arthur, who as a ping-pong ball uncontrollably bounced depending on circumstance from “Arthur of flesh and blood” to “Arthur the Cyborg” to “Arthur the happy man in Facebook”. It was in particular during the sudden death of “Arthur, Phd working for the prestigious CSIC” that caused the inevitable affirmation of all other identities of Arthur, which started to take over the control of his life, even though such life was physically quite vegetative.
And nevertheless, as soon as “Arthur the Cyborg” got in contact with the Solar Doctrine and started to read that which corresponded to one of the very rare projections of such timeless Doctrine in the realm of cyberspace, he could not help but become trapped by a vertiginous ascending spiral that was promised in the first page, the one that stated:
“This Doctrine is the doorway that opens a cosmic spiral into the Solar center of yourself”
He could actually feel this power in the deepest recesses of his flesh: a centripetal force that immediately transported him to a new world of possibilities and potential experiences that he hardly believed that could ever take place in his life. He achieved glimpsing along the horizon a new possibility, a new potential: that of actually becoming a Solar Warrior.
This potential Solar Warrior didn´t correspond to any fragmentary or partial identity, but rather corresponded to a potential Being existing within Arthur´s organism, where this figure would end up dominating all other identities and experiences, such as the Sun when causing all other planets to orbit harmonically around its center. Could our hero Arthur enlighten a little star in the dark firmament of our modern existence?… Having read once and again the text of “The Solar Doctrine”, he deeply realized that such star enlightening was the main aim of the Doctrine, providing to the practitioner the necessary methods in order to attain this regal and heroic state.
Through the text “The Solar Doctrine” that Arthur read once and again while laying down in bed, was postulated a series of principles that had to be respected in an absolutely integral way along the whole path of liberation. It was mostly stated that such methods were simple and imperative, and that whoever intended to know the why or gain any rational explanation of such procedures, would imply pernicious doubts that themselves demonstrated that such individual was not yet ready to fully receive the teachings of the millenary Doctrine. Moreover, in “The Solar Doctrine” was affirmed that whoever intended to acknowledge with explanations the aim of the Doctrine would also demonstrate that he was not yet ready to follow its teachings. And finally, it was also stated that only the truly Noble man is capable of having no doubts about the Doctrine and thus respect it and apply it, due to respect towards the Doctrine itself, yet what´s more important, due to respect towards himself.
It was precisely at this stage of the reading of “The Solar Doctrine” that Arthur was quite puzzled and doubtful… What does the Doctrine mean when it demands Nobility as an indispensable attribute on the part of the practitioner? Most likely due to the influence of Helena and her “fashion-victim” tendencies, Arthur was only capable of associating the term Nobility to those eccentric and presumptuous individuals who belong to the wealthy classes, mostly famous, who were legally supported by noble titles and who generally sell exclusive rights to magazines and T.V producers, generally living in a world of leisure, high-class consumption and luxury. “Are these actually the individuals who meet all the requirements in order to become Solar Warriors?” -thought Arthur, a little discouraged. Yet ultimately Arthur once again read more carefully “The Solar Doctrine” and realized that in no case in such e-book was there any mention of anything of that sort. In the Doctrine a lot of emphasis was rather put in specific attributes of character, which were completely independent of any social or economic position. It was pointed out in the Doctrine that there were moments in the History of humanity when there actually did exist some correlation and correspondence between the successful application of the Doctrine and the fact of belonging to the social nobility, aristocracy or royalty… But that that was no longer the case during the times Arthur had to deal with. In the Doctrine it was also stated that during recent times precisely the confusion and misrepresentation in this domain would be amazingly spectacular and thus mainstream, but that true Nobility -such as it is defined in the Doctrine- demanded “Arthur of flesh and blood” to expose himself to all those life experiences that viscerally crash against all abstract identifications, no matter of what kind (“Arthur the scientist and researcher”,”Arthur, Phd working for a prestigious university department”, “Arthur the Cyborg”, “Arthur the happy man in Facebook” , etc) where “Arthur of flesh and blood” would have to put himself to the test without excuses, justifications nor pretexts, losing or winning, experiencing pain, honesty and authenticity. The Doctrine pointed out to Arthur that precisely such forms of experience could awaken in him life potentialities that could keep him far away from any alienating surrogate, and that could ultimately challenge his true Nobility. Hence the Doctrine could only be accessible and practiced by those individuals who had been previously exposed to a magnanimous and self-sacrificing vital attitude, and to some extent, to that which in some époques was considered to be a barbarian life that doesn´t disregard misfortune, nor adversities, nor sacrifices, but that even willfully intends to be exposed to them; to summarize, an attitude that in no way aims for comfort, but contrarily drives towards risk and chaos. And whenever in “The Solar Doctrine” is used the term “risk” in no case does it refer to “extreme sports” in which in very few cases is anything actually risked (since all risks are as calculated as those of a roller coaster of an amusement park, and where the aim is to seek intense sensations and emotions…) In the Doctrine is postulate
d that due to the highly technical and functional specialization in modern sports, risks are mainly all under strict control, and thus such potential risks have no value when it comes to reducing the alienating effect of the modern urban/industrial societies such as that which Arthur for better or worse had to face. It is precisely due to the excess of care, protections and security that had impeded modern men from gaining a genuine experience, of whatever sort, that can be employed as “raw material” and one´s own resource in order to avoid all need to narcissistically create highly virtual images or cybernetic identities with regard to compensating for the lack of power one actually has over oneself. Therefore, the legionary spirit is precisely what is conceived in the Doctrine as a predisposition of great value in order for the Nobleman to start forging his Destiny as a brilliant tempered steel. And this legionary spirit entails the capacity to be exposed to all traumas, destructions, collapses, conflicts and death. All losses entail experiences of great value for he who can trespass the fire without becoming
