“I'm sorry Sam I didn't have a choice, it was the only way of saving your life,” Chris said.

“Turning me into some kind of monster is your idea of saving my life?” I asked.

The costume felt so good, the way it hugged every curve of my body. So tight yet moving seemed easier than it had been in years.

“Mommy please don't be mad at daddy,” my little Kathy said.

“Oh Kathy, I'm not as mad at him, as I am that he didn't feel he could tell me,” I said.

Kathy and Nicole both smiled at me exposing that they too had retractable canines. Both of my little angels were vampires as well. Surely their father hadn't done to them what he had to me.

“They were both born vampires, Sam. I wouldn't intentionally condemn them to this kind of life, and for them it's the only kind of life they'll ever know,” Chris said.

“That's why Irene left, isn't it? She found out that not only are you a vampire, but because of you her children are too?” I asked.

“I don't know Sam. The only thing I know for sure is I love you, and only wanted to save your life. Both of these little girls have chosen you as their mother, they both love you more than they ever loved Irene. They love you so much they insisted on helping save your life,” Chris said.
