Cody nodded to Bodin, unable to take his eyes off Sonja. She stopped in front of him, smiling. It was a bright smile, full of joy.

It took Cody a bit to collect himself. “Lunch?”

She nodded. “You bet.” She took a quick look around before taking his hand. She squeezed it once then released it. “As much as I want to, PDA is frowned upon.”

“PDA?” After a moment, it hit him. “Public display of affection?”

  She nodded, smiling.

“Affection.” Cody smiled as he stared at the remarkable woman before him. “You know, maybe we should skip lunch and find someplace private.”

She narrowed her eyes at him. “Oh? You think you can handle me?”

Cody pulled her closer. “I sure as hell plan on finding out.”
