‘All right.’ Vanessa looked deeply into his hazel eyes. ‘We could get married.’
‘Married? Are you proposing to me, Miss Everly?’
‘Yes, I am.’
‘I thought the man proposed.’
‘This is the twenty-first century, Christian.’
He smiled, his eyes glistening. ‘Then here’s to the twenty-first century, darling. I accept with all my heart.’
