Marked Skulls MC Series: Books 1-5 Page 46

by Savannah Rylan

“I’ll get you a coffee and the menu,” she said and turned on her heels and I watched her rushing away.

Once again, I couldn’t drag my eyes away from her while she walked. Her butt moved, her hips swung, everything about her body screamed at me to possess it. I tapped my feet anxiously on the floor, I had my jaw clenched in agitation. I wanted her to turn and look at me again. I wanted to look into those piercing green eyes of hers.

I could see her rushing around the diner. She was making my cup of coffee and refusing to look at me. Then she was picking up the small jug of milk and the jar of sugar. She worked away and kept her head down and all I could do was stare.

I had a sudden image then of Kaya spreading her legs. Her thighs wrapping tightly around my waist, my fingers on her panties, pushing them out of the way. I could almost taste the sweetness of her mouth.

I cleared my throat, forcing myself to look away from her. What the fuck was going on with me? Why did I suddenly feel like I had no self-control? Why couldn’t I stop staring? Why was my cock moving in my pants?

I always had complete control over myself. It was all in the mind. As long as I could control my mind, I could control anything. But now, with Kaya, it seemed like that control had suddenly vanished and it made me feel weak.

Now she was walking towards me again, and once more, I was drawn to look at her like a magnet.

She was the one who was in control of me now.

  Kaya

The whole time I walked around the diner, making his coffee and collecting the menu—I could feel his eyes on me. Even though I had been completely clueless when I first bumped into him at the front door, right now he was the only thing on my mind.

I couldn’t focus on anything but him, despite trying my best to not look at him. How was it possible? It was such a crazy coincidence that just a few hours after wishing so desperately that one of the bikers walk into the diner, one of them actually did.

And the one who did was the kind of guy who took my breath away.

The funny thing was that I’d never met a guy like him before. Not face to face, not in person. So, before this, I had no idea that I could even be attracted to someone like him: covered in tattoos, muscular, dangerous looking, someone who rode a motorcycle.

My hands were shaking and I tried to steady myself. I would have to carry his coffee all the way to his table, and I hoped against hope that I didn’t spill it and make more of a fool of myself. From how tongue-tied he made me, and how nervous I was around him, I was sure he thought I was a silly young amateur anyway. Just a small-town girl who didn’t know what she was doing.

I walked towards him now, keeping my head down, but there was a blush creeping up on my cheeks that I couldn’t control. Even before I’d barely gotten to know him, something told me that this guy was going to have an impact on my life.

I had no clue as to how or in what way, though. All I knew was that this wasn’t the only time I was going to meet him.

I placed the cup of coffee down in front of him along with the menu. He didn’t make a move for either of them. I was nervous again, unsure of how I was to conduct myself. In every other situation, I should have simply walked away. But right now, I couldn’t. It was like my feet were stuck to the ground.

“Kaya is a beautiful name,” I heard him say.

Now I had no choice but to look up at him. I tucked a few stray curls behind my ears and tried to smile.

“Thank you. Oz isn’t so bad either.”

He smirked, and I realized how hot I felt when he looked at me. Physically hot. Like I was burning up. I was shy, and self-conscious. I wanted to know what he thought of me. He was way out of my league though. He looked like the kind of guy who went for sexy, and I had no clue how to be that.

“You seem like you have something to say to me, sweet Kaya,” he continued. My nostrils were flared, I could feel my cheek’s redness intensifying again. Why would he say that? Could he read my mind?

“No, I have nothing to say,” I blurted and clamped my mouth shut tightly.

  “Okay…”

“I’ll come back for your order,” I declared and began to rush away.

“Okay…” he said again, in a slow lazy voice. The side of his mouth was curled up in a devious smile.

“I love the waffles!” I said aloud as I rushed away, even though he hadn’t asked for my opinion. I didn’t know what I was doing. Jesus, I was like a freaking school girl running away from her crush.

I practically ran into the kitchen, with my heart racing in my chest. When I went in, with my face as red as a tomato, I found Melody and another girl, Grace, waiting there for me. Melody was staring at me, her eyes wide and questioning.

“Wow. Who is that?” Grace asked, with a twinkle in her eye. I tried to push past them so I could get myself a glass of water. But neither of them were going to be shaken off that easily.

“Do you know that guy?” Grace persisted, and I shrugged my shoulders.

“Why should I know him? I don’t know anyone around here except you guys,” I said, and forced a laugh nervously.

“He is hot!” Grace continued, and nearly added a wolf whistle to the end of that. I pretended like I hadn’t noticed and tried to laugh it off.

“Are you kidding me? The two of you were practically undressing each other right there at the booth!” Grace said.

Melody hadn’t said anything yet, and I rolled my eyes at Grace. But, if that was what she thought she saw, what did Oz see? Had he noticed how desperately attracted I was to him too?

  “I think you’re mistaken,” I said.

“Oh c’mon, Kaya, we all saw it. The two of you need to get a room!” she continued to joke.

That was when Melody stepped in.

“Okay, that’s enough. Grace, aren’t you supposed to get back to work?” she snapped. Grace twisted her mouth in irritation, rolled her eyes, and then finally walked away.

I drank some water I’d poured in a glass, while Melody glared at me.

“Didn’t you hear anything I said to you this morning?”

I tried to look at her calmly.

  “He’s just a customer.”

“Because guys like him are trouble.”

  “Nothing is happening.

“Grace is right. We all saw the way you were devouring each other.”

That made me blush harder. While I was standing there in front of him, I had no idea Oz was looking at me like that.

“Nothing is happening,” I insisted and sucked in my gut. Melody shook her head like she was disappointed.

“Suit yourself. Just don’t say I didn’t warn you,” she said, and I threw her a smile.

“Warning taken,” I said and then rushed away from her.

Sweet Kaya. Beautiful blushing Kaya. As I sat there, waiting for her return, I grew impatient with desire. When was the last time I wanted a woman like this? When had I felt this all-consuming desire for a woman? Every other chick I banged was a means to an end. Just a need to be fulfilled, but with Kaya it was different.

I could have watched her all day.

I would have found more and more things to say so I could see her blushing. What was happening to me? I didn’t know if I liked feeling this way. It was a weakness, and I couldn’t afford weakness. It wasn’t a luxury I enjoyed.

She returned some minutes later, keeping her head down as before. She was smiling as usual, and it was a beautiful smile. I’d never seen anything like it before. It literally warmed my heart. I was dead sure she had someone. How could she not? How could a woman like her be single?

“Did you have a chance to look at the menu?” she asked, in that sweet voice of hers. I hadn’t. I hadn’t even picked it up. I’d spent the past minutes fantasizing about having Kaya’s legs wrapped around my waist.

“I’ll have the waffles,” I told her, and she blushed again as she wrote it on her notepad. “And only because you recommend
ed it.”

“They better be good this time,” she commented, in a shy voice. I leaned towards her, and she didn’t move. She stood there with the notepad in her hand, looking at me like I was a wolf about to devour her.

“I’ll eat it even if it isn’t. Don’t worry,” I said. She tried to suppress another smile and slipped the notepad in the pocket of her apron.

“You don’t have to do anything you don’t want to do. I don’t want to oblige you,” she told me. I couldn’t help but wonder if this was how she spoke to all her customers. I hoped not.

“You’ve written down the order already, now you can’t take it back. If I hate the waffles, you’ll owe me,” I said. Kaya was still blushing, playing with the curls strewn around her face.

“Owe you what?” she asked, and my gaze traveled down to her plump pink lips.

“I’ll think of something to make up for it,” I said with a smirk and she shook her head lightly.

“I have a feeling this is some kind of trap,” she said.

“A trap? How could you think that of me?” I forced a mock-offended voice, which made her smile again.

“My mistake. I’m sure you’re as innocent as a daisy. I’ll be back with your food,” she said, picking the menu up from the table. I wanted to reach out and touch her, hold her hand—but I didn’t. I wasn’t going to scare her away.

“I’ll be counting down the minutes,” I said.

Throwing me another one of her dazzling smiles, Kaya walked away from me and once again, I couldn’t look away. I didn’t care about the food anymore. I wasn’t even hungry. All I wanted was to talk to her again.

The wait seemed to last a lifetime. Kaya returned with the big plate of waffles and she was right, they did look good.

“I made sure Chef made it the best he’s ever done. You can’t possibly have any complaints about it,” she told me, as she put the plate down in front of me.

“I’m not really a waffles kinda guy, so I won’t be the best judge,” I said. It was true. I might have been a kid when I last had waffles. But I couldn’t deny it now that she’d specifically suggested it.

“Waffles are happy food,” she commented, stepping back.

“Is that why you like it?”

Kaya didn’t reply. She stood there, grinning…like she was waiting for me to try it. I cut myself a fat piece and popped it in my mouth. Her green eyes seemed to grow even wider as she waited for me to give her the verdict.

“You have to be honest!” she exclaimed. There was a giggle in her voice.

“It’s great. Thanks for the recommendation,” I said, when I was done chewing. And it was true. They were really good.

Kaya smiled and turned to walk away.

“Looks like it’s me who owes you, now,” I said, and she stopped. “For this great experience.”

  Kaya chewed on her lip.

  “It’s my job.”

“You do it very well,” I told her. She blushed again and rushed away this time before I could add anything else. I watched her go, her hips swinging, and as I ate the rest of my food—I kept my eyes firmly fixed on her.

Kaya worked around the diner, and every now and again, looked over at me. She knew I was watching her, and I knew she was thinking of me too. Whatever it was, there was a connection between us. I needed her body. I needed to taste her and be inside her.

  I had to possess Kaya.

After I was done, I checked my watch and realized I needed to head back to T-Bone. I had to hold one last meeting with the prospects before we headed out to the docks for the night.

Kaya came up to clear the table as I stood. I’d left a large tip for her, which she hadn’t picked up yet.

“I hope you enjoyed your meal, Oz,” she said and stepped aside to give me room to leave.

“You have no idea,” I replied.

Kaya blushed again and made to walk away.

“I’ll be back soon. You better not go anywhere!” I growled and she looked at me over her shoulder. Kaya didn’t say anything, neither did she nod, but from the look in her eyes I could sense she was looking forward to it as well.

I couldn’t wait to see her again.

  Kaya

I watched as Oz left. He’d also left a big tip for me on his table, instead of his phone number, which is what I’d hoped for. I wasn’t sure if he would return like he said he would.

Didn’t he have a far different life from me?

Maybe he even had a girlfriend. Or maybe he wasn’t the girlfriend type. Would I want to be with a man who was only interested in a quickie in the back alley?

Somehow, the more I thought about Oz, I didn’t seem to care what he wanted from me…it was all about what I wanted from him. I stood there watching him through the windows of the diner, crossing the street to his bar.

I was daydreaming about him, about us. For those few moments, I’d forgotten all about the fact that I was in a workplace, that I had a job to do. I stared at him, dreaming about what it would feel like to be on his bike, to wrap my arms around his rock-hard body. Feel the strength and weight of his chest pressed up against my breasts.

  Was I wet?

I looked around ashamedly, embarrassed that someone might somehow read my mind. I could feel the wet stickiness in my panties. Just the thought of being with him, on his bike—had made me feel like this. What would it feel like to actually physically be with him?

I chewed on my lip, trying to push those thoughts out of my head.

  “So?”

It was Melody’s voice that snapped me out of my thoughts.

I whipped around to find her standing there behind me, her hands on her hips.

  “Huh?”

  I was still dazed.

“What was he like?” she asked me. I gulped, trying to get my thoughts in order again. From the way Melody was glaring at me, I had a feeling she knew exactly what was on my mind.

  “He was nice.”

  “Nice?”

I brushed past her, heading for the kitchen again and she followed me.

“Yes, he was actually nice. As hard and tough as he looked on the outside, he was actually more polite and more thoughtful than most of the people who come in here.”

  Melody sighed aloud.

“You like him, don’t you?” she asked, and I turned to her.

“You’re jumping the gun here, Mel. I don’t know what I think. I will probably never see him again.”

Melody tipped her head to one side as she watched me.

“Yeah, maybe you won’t. Or, maybe he liked what he saw too and he’ll be back for more very soon.”

Her words reminded me of what Oz had said when he was leaving. I couldn’t hold the smile back. She saw it and shook her head, but she was smiling too.

“If that guy makes you blush like this, then maybe he does deserve you.”

I bit down hard on my bottom lip as Melody and I stood smiling at each other. Maybe she could tell just the kind of effect Oz had on me, and she was happy for me.

  Oz

It was midnight and we were at the docks. Just as planned, Dash and I carried out the handover with the Cubans, while the rest of the prospects and Abe oversaw the collection and storage. Some guys were posted at the parking lot as a lookout.

Everything was going smoothly. Diego, our Cuban contact for this shipment, helped me pry open a crate in the shipping container. The weapons were stored in a false bottom of the crates, helping us sneak everything by customs.

“So where did these come from?” I asked Diego, as well pulled at the wood.

“We struck a deal a new supplier in Mexico. So, all of the shipments from now on, will be coming from there.”

I smiled as I pulled out an AR15 from the crate. I had no fucking clue who Diego’s supplier was. And honestly, I didn’t really care who he got his weapons from. Diego was able to get us the weapons we needed without us having to figure out having to get them into the country. Which is w
hy our deal with him and the Cubans was so important to upkeep.

“There’s lots more packed up in the rest of these crates,” Diego said.

“Perfect, let’s get them loaded into our truck.”

Dash and I helped Diego load the crates into the truck. Once everything was loaded, I turned to Diego to thank him.

“It’s a pleasure doing business with you, as always Diego,” I reached out and handed him a full envelop of cash. He smiled and took it from me.

“We should have another shipment ready to go in a couple of weeks. I’ll be in contact with you when it is ready.”

I was satisfied with the way things had gone. This meant that Abe would finally let me handle this on my own going forward. I would not need his supervision anymore.

All of the sudden, a gun shot rang out near the parking lot.

I quickly reached for my gun on high alert. Dash and I ran charging towards the sound of the shots. We could hear our men shouting. More shots were fired.

By the time Dash and I got there, all I could see was the tail end of a bike disappearing into the night. I strained my eyes to see, and I thought I recognized a Dark Legion cut. How was that even possible?

  “Fuck!”

I was cursing, waving my gun threateningly in the air by the time Abe ran over to us.

“What the fuck just happened?” he shouted.

“A drive by shootout,” one of the prospects said.

I looked around the parking lot and noticed a guy on the ground, one of Diego’s men. Diego ran over to him, and I followed him.

  “Is he alright?” I asked

Diego nodded. I let out a sigh of relief. Getting one of his men killed was not the best way to keep relations happy with the Cubans.

“Anyone dead?” Abe asked as he walked over and Dash shook his head.

“Some injuries, no deaths. We’re good,” he replied, while I ran a hand through my hair.
