The Connect Who Took My Heart Away 2 Page 10

by Coco Shawndé

This man was scratching his head like he didn’t understand a word. I left it alone, and text Miani back that I loved everything. I was beyond happy for her. This trip was simply for gaining her independence back, but it turned into so much more. She gained way more than independence in these few days, and Obasi surely helped.

Laying down in bed, I didn’t know what the hell Hosea was doing. He was walking all around, and then he came in the room with a blunt in his mouth. It was after midnight, and I wanted him to join me because this bed was cold without him.

“Get up.” he said, and I raised my head enough to show him my face.

  “And go where?” I probed.

  “Just get up.”

Swinging the covers back, I huffed and puffed as I went to see what the fuss was about. Smiling, this man had created a dance floor in the suite, and had some slow jams playing on the TV.

“Dance?” he said with his hand out. Placing my hand into his, he pulled me to his chest. Right away he had hands on my ass, and was dancing like somebody´s damn grandpa.

“Bae...what are we doing?” I laughed, knowing we were off beat.

“Slow dancing.” he said dead serious. “You like this shit don’t you?”

“Huh...this!” I said correcting him on the proper way. “I’m going to follow your lead.”

We got through three songs before he was halfway there on slow dancing. I was cracking the hell up at his ass. His big tall ass looked crazy, and I had to get him together.

“How you going to invite me to dance, and you don’t know what the hell you doing?” I giggled, sitting in his lap on the couch. Taking down his rough braids one by one, he sat with a grin.

“Mane...Dice, I ain’t neva’ slowed dance before. You just taught me some shit.” he laughed.

  “I see!”

We sat on the couch watching movies while I took his hair down, and detangled it. Combing his hair, I parted it down the middle and across. He didn’t do much with his hair, and he was okay with some straight backs. Instead, I did two in the back going down, and the two in the front braided down to each side. He was looking crispy and handsome now. When he was calling himself going to sleep, I popped him in the side of his head.

“I didn’t just go through all that for you to not tie it up.” I said in his face.

“Huh?” he said high and sleep.

“Get up, Zay.” I said nudging his head. He followed me to the room, and he was so high, he didn’t take to the fact that I had put one of my scarves on his head.

“Thanks bae.” he said going right to sleep, not knowing it was a pink BeBe scarf on his head. Laughing to myself, I cuddled up under him, and went to sleep.

  Next Day

“Can you pleaseee take the scarf off?” I asked Hosea as we were preparing to get dressed for dinner tonight. I couldn’t believe it was our last night here, but I was more than ready to get back to my son. I would be coming back just in time for his first football practice.

Fresh out of the shower, Hosea was already halfway dressed in his navy blue and black pants suit that was tailored made for him. He didn’t have his shoes on yet and he was icing himself out right now. What was killing me was the scarf on his head. He woke up pissed, but his get back was him still sporting it and not giving me my shit back.

“Shit, this kinda fly.” he said nodding his head in the mirror at himself.

“You kinda looking crazy.” I giggled.

We continued getting dressed, and I was ready to step out for the night. With my black sequin mesh gown with the back cut out, I was stepping on necks for sure. With my body on point, it was like God hand crafted my curves for this dress. With my hair all coming to one side, I made sure my make-up was beat to perfection. Hosea snapping a picture of me off guard, let me know I didn’t need to look in the mirror anymore. Turning around to take him in, he was looking like the boss he was.

“C’murr…” he fingered me to him, and I let him smother me with kisses.

Watching the time, it was past the time that we were supposed to be gone. Taking my phone and clutch, Hosea led me out of the penthouse.

He had rented a car to drive, so he was pushing a brand-new Rolls Royce. It seemed like we all were running late to Top of the World restaurant. I just knew we were going to be the last two strolling in, but we just so happened to be walking to our reserved table together.

“You look damn good tonight.” Hosea said in my ear, as I was taking my seat.

“Thank you, baby.” I said, lifting my head so I could bring his face to mine.

With Aja, Keefe, Obasi, and Miani taking their seats, we ordered a few bottles for it to be plenty. Us ladies couldn’t have kept our laughs in if we wanted to with these three together.

“Nah, Aja tried to take my head off with the fucking garage door.” Keefe said, shaking his head. “You ain’t had that done to you, podna.”

“This one had me take her to a five-star restaurant...let her order whatever she wanted, then her bold ass called for the waiter to bring a trash can. No bullshit, she threw every crumb away. I was fucking hurt.” Hosea said shaking his head, but laughing at it now.

“That’s how you do me?” I said holding my laugh.

“Yeah, remind yo ass you better eat this food.” he joked, then came kissing me. “I’m just playing, baby. You know I lov-”

Looking at him, it was awkward as hell because what they was hearing, was some shit we didn’t even say during sex. “You know I love you.” he said finishing his sentence, and kissing my cheek repeatedly. “Mane, Keefe. How you do it? Being married and all that shit. Kids...business.” Trying to keep my face together in order from revealing what was going on in my head, I simply listened to the guys talk. I wouldn’t say Hosea was being a totally different person at the dinner table, but his friends brought out something I didn’t know was there. Hosea saying he loves me, had me frozen on the inside because I knew how he was a composed man. There was no question if he was being truthful, but disbelief that he could love me. Getting out of my mind, I didn’t want to dwell in my past marriage, because Hosea wasn’t Chaunce. They were nothing alike, and hearing him converse with Keefe and Obasi confirmed.

“You just do it. Aja makes it easy on me. She knows everything I got going, and she´s there. She´s fucking there. You be there for yo woman, I promise she´s going to be there for you even when you thought she wasn’t needed. Damn sure when you need it. The baby was a whole new groove, but the best addition to us. I love my children, and Aja is a great mother.” he said looking at Aja while he talked, and that was the cutest shit ever.

“Dope ass love. Black love.” Hosea noted.

“Yeah, ain’t nothing like it.” Obasi added.

“Love your woman, mane. I learned some valuable lessons by just listening to Aja when she was overloaded with emotions. This was way before marriage came. What we do in the streets, no matter how far away we try to keep them from it, that shit can fuck up they head. So, when I come home, I then have to communicate.” Keefe expressed.

“Because he would dictate.” Aja added, being honest about what they went through. “Man can confuse the whole, I’m running shit. Keefe can still be the man. Just one that communicates.” she said in the nicest way, but we all knew about her crazy ass. “Y’all know my little ass compared to him will grab a chair or whatever to get eye to eye with him. Women want to be heard, and men don’t always like to listen to their women.”

Looking over at Miani, she could have been moping sad with grief about her failed marriage, but she was just all ears happy as hell with Basi. I was glad she had opened herself back up after all what she went through. You could tell dealing with Ralph had gave her a clear workbook on what the hell were the signs.

“Aja what’s the best part of being married? I’on mean to do you like that friend, but me and Miani don’t wear rings on our fingers.” I said in the best way possible since Hosea was my date sitting right here. I had been married, but I couldn’t find the best part abo
ut it since it was so short lived.

My finger had been bare since I found out about Chaunce´s daughter, Charli. If that damn thing didn’t come off so fast, chile! Wasn’t no way I could wear it knowing who I was being loyal to after death had done the most damage to hurt.

“Keefe is my roll dawg.” she gushed, giving him that look that she loved every part of him. “Real men don’t quit, and he proved that. He never left. He endured everything. Having a best friend as your spouse, you´re never alone. The feeling of loneliness has never happened since being married. Yeah when he was more so in the streets, I felt it. But when you tell your man something bothers you, they should fix it. You shouldn’t have to constantly address the same topic. And that doesn't mean Dice, that you don’t open your mouth when you feel a ways. Your man loves you when he fixes the problem for you, because being comfortable is the key. If I’m not secure and comfortable, I can’t do shit for Keefe.” She went on.

“Do I make you comfortable and secure?” Obasi asked Miani out the blue.

“Ye-yes.” she nodded, not ready for him to come with that question soon as Aja said it. “You do.”

“Real shit, there ain’t been much committing in my past. Shit, I done committed to a nut, but nothing longer.” Hosea openly said, speaking on his past. “Dice is my first. She has been married, and I have never been. We got two different backgrounds when it comes to our past life.”

“If it's convenient, that’s when you know it’s not commitment. So, you ever find yourself being in a convenient situation, it’s not worthy. My marriage was filled with convenience. You’ll know, and Dice will.” Miani told Hosea and I.

  “Preciate that sis.” Hosea smiled.

“Yeah, folks be quick to jump on how long me and Aja been together. That be jaw dropping to hear, but I always tell them straight up. That’s years of enduring the good and bad times, loving this woman, and communicating. That shit gets its respect when you hear all that added to them years.” Keefe put out there.

All this marriage talk, I couldn’t say it didn’t make me shy away. Hosea and I never had a reason to discuss it until now, but I wasn’t interested in being a wife again. He was all in tune in the conversation, and saying his peace on it, and I just sat with my mouth closed.

Once the waiter came to check on us, it was like he saved the day for sure. We took the time to stop the conversation and order. Then afterwards, Hosea was acting slow on where the restroom was. I knew what he was on, and I don’t know why I let him lead me to a secluded area that had a single restroom. All that marriage and commitment talk had put his dick on brick! He was about to lose his mind if he didn’t get a release.

“My dress ain’t fit to be-” I complained, but he had thrust his tongue in my mouth so fast, my words were sucked into his mouth.

“You better do some shopping on my black card. You always need to dress the part, but to where I can get to you.” he said breathing down my neck. My dress was damn near painted on, and wasn’t no easy way to get out of it, so he took it off for me, and hung it on the door of the stall.

“Just a quickie.” I explained to him, knowing we had them out waiting.

“A’ight!” Hearing how fast he unzipped his zipper, I looked back at him, knowing we weren't doing shit that damn quick.

  “Slow, Zay!” I demanded.

“Man, Dice! You want this dick in a quickie? Or slow?” he said, tossing his hands up, as his dick rested on my back. Rolling my eyes at myself in the mirror and holding onto the sink, I slung my head back at him.

“Quickie because I never agreed to be fucking in hurr! And slow! My pussy sore, baby.” I said going from snapping with my words to a whine.

“You know I take care of that pussy.” he said positioning himself behind me. With me already wet as fuck, wasn’t no need to foreplay. Hanging my head, my damn tongue was shaking from the great mix of pain and pleasure filling me. Biting into my lip, I was trying to be quiet, but the shit was not happening.

“Ouuuuuu-Arnnnn!!” I moaned out, not able to run.

“Bring it hurr!” He barked at me, knowing I was keeping my hand on his stomach to push him back from going balls deep. “Stop fucking pushing me before I make this dick knock you the fuck out.”

“But-but! Baeeeee!” I said damn near falling into the sink. Biting into my lip, I didn’t have to try to keep quiet on my own when his hand came around my mouth.

“You gon’ get pregnant for me?” he questioned, hitting it so damn good from the back, I was saying yesssss to every damn thang. I was glad he had his hand over my mouth because I started cumming long and hard right on the dick. Hosea pulled out just in time to spill his nut into the pocket square of his suit.

“I can’t stop shaking.” I said not moving. Hosea tried to touch me, but I couldn’t even let him lay a finger on me. I felt if he even gave me his hand, I just might explode. He got my dress down, and had to wait on me.

“We spent more time getting you back dress than fucking.” he frowned up, and I couldn’t help it. He had put something on my body, and I couldn’t get it together for the life of me.

“You didn’t like it?” I smirked.

“A’ight, you feeling that drank now. You know what it is. You know what that pussy hit for. Stop trying to get clout.” he directed, leading us on our way.

“Oh, just making sure you knew.” I replied, walking on his side. He guided us back with his hand on my ass.

Dinner turned out to be one of the best highlights of the trip. Me and my girls all had different departing flights since they came with me on the jet. Knowing the trip was basically over, we took plenty of pictures. The girls planned to link back up at the hotel lobby tomorrow at noon, so that could give us time to get some sleep and pack. Hosea wasn’t flying back to St. Louis until later, so I was definitely going to spend my night laid up with him.

When we made it back to the hotel, this goofy was tying his head up with my scarf. His suit was off, and all he had on was his boxer briefs.

“I got dick for you baby.” he joked, making me laugh.

“Oh, you do?” I said batting my eyes. “Can you take the scarf off. I can’t take the dick serious right now.”

He pinned my ass to the bed, and we wrestled around until that scarf was off. Breathing heavy, I rolled over on top, stripping myself of my clothes.

“I want you.” I moaned out, looking deep into his eyes.

“You have me, Shordy.” He said, leaning up so our lips came together.

In returning home, it was back to the grind. Posted up in the projects, I was handling business as usual. William had held shit down, but it was nothing like overseeing your product for yourself. In the trenches all night until morning, the only thing on my mind was getting a shower in.

“You not going to sleep?” Miani asked on my line. She had just woken up to head into work.

“Nah, I’m not going to be able to.” I let her know. “How you sleep?” I could hear her moving around a bit as I went to lock up the place.

“Bae, you need to get some sleep.” she ordered.

“Oh, I do?” I said being funny. Miani started her job nursing, and she acted like she needed to stay on the schedule. “What about your sleep?”

“I’m fine.” she said, assuring she had everything under control. Hearing her step away from the phone, she started calling for Easton to get out of the bed.

Checking on them, I stayed on the phone until she dropped Easton off at school, and she was clocking in at work. We were on facetime now because I wanted to speak to Little E before he went into school. “What time you getting out of there today?” I asked her, seeing her in her blue scrubs

“I’m on a double, then I’m off for a few days.” she said looking down at the screen briefly. “Can you cook tonight?”

“What you want?” I asked with a grin on my face. Even with her working and staying a little away from my crib, we made shit work. Little E went t
o school closer to me since he didn’t attend public schools, so Miani was always up and down the highway.

“Whatever you put together.” she smiled.

“A’ight. You got it, ma.” I nodded.

“I can’t wait until Dice open the other location.” she sighed, walking into the Royal’s. “Then, I don’t have to drive in a big circle.”

“Yeah that would work. You’ll be closer to me when you get off.” I noted. Miani would drive all the way out to Easton´s school, then work, then have to make the long commute home. I had given her open access to my house, but I knew she wanted to take her time with us moving in together. Where I was at, I didn’t see the point in all this holding off. Since I gave this woman anything and everything, this moving topic was no different. I let her decide when she was ready.

We chopped it up a bit until she was punching the clock to get to work. “Bae, seriously. Go to sleep.” she told me.

I let her know I had a few plays to get to, then I would hit her back on her lunch break. Getting off the phone, I was whipping into my driveway to clean up a bit. With crack all under my fingernails, I needed to take a good ass shower.

  Later that night

“Nigga, you still in Vegas? Fuck you had to do?” I asked Hosea, and I could see him rubbing his hand down his face.

“Mane, Marie wanted to have this meeting.” he said, and I could just tell from his voice, something wasn’t right.

“Sound like a dick appointment.” I joked, knowing this probably wasn’t the time for it.

“Yeah, that’s what it was.” he said, releasing a hard breath into the phone, but keeping it one thousand.

“You need to bring yo ass on back. Get to yo damn woman.” I told him straight up.

“Sounds good. Dice the one that’s moving funny and shit. You know I´ve barely heard from her ass since she hopped on the jet home?” he complained, and that was all news to me.

“Word? That doesn't sound right. Miani speaks to her ass every day. I know she been trying to get the construction completed at her south county location. All she been talking about for real and Miani be trying to settle her nerves down.”
