He meant every word. I could feel it. I smiled and ran my fingers down his chest to his abdomen. “I believe you. You’re the most adorable and sexy man in the world, babe. I love you.”
Aiden smiled and kissed the top of my head. “I love you, too.” Then his stomach growled, and he sighed. “All right, I might have misspoken when I said I’d fuck all three holes before breakfast. I’m going to have to do the other two in our blanket fort by the fireplace.”
I laughed. “Deal. Let’s order room service.” Then I paused, unsure if I should ask the question that hung on my lips. I didn’t know if Aiden would take it the wrong way and think I wasn’t focused on spending time with him. “Should we, uh, get dressed for a minute and video chat with the kids?” I bit my lip as I waited for his response.
Aiden grinned. “Yeah. I miss those little shits. It’s been weird to not wake up to Max, saying, ‘I peed in my underwear,’ and it’s been way too long since I’ve seen Mia roll her eyes.”
“Those adorable little shits.” I grinned and slid out of bed. One of my favorite things about my husband was how much he both adored and was driven mad by our kids—just like me. He was the only one in the world that understood that feeling.
“Go take a shower, baby.” Aiden reached over to slap my ass. “I’ll order breakfast, and then we’ll call the kids.”
“And then the wine and sex. I still need to be serviced.”
Aiden bit his lip and let his pretty gray eyes flick up and down my body. “That you do.”
There were those silly butterflies again.

The kids were fine. Well, I mean, Max broke Mia’s microphone, and Aiden’s mom couldn’t figure out our dishwasher and melted half of our plastic kid plates. But everyone was alive and mostly happy.
Now, Aiden and I were naked and snuggled up in front of the fireplace with huge glasses of white wine. I leaned against him and sighed. “This feels amazing. I forgot what it felt like to not just be a mom.”
Aiden ran his fingers through my hair and pressed a soft kiss to the base of my neck. “I guess we need to remind you more often.” He set his glass of wine on the coffee table and reached for mine next. Then he pulled me onto his lap, so I was straddling him. “If I remember correctly, you still need to be serviced.”
He gripped my hips and kissed my neck. Aiden’s lips traveled down to my breasts, and he took my right nipple in his mouth. I smiled and bit my lip. My right breast had always been his favorite. I remembered back when we were dating, and he’d said, “Baby, I love lefty, too, but I swear your right tit is just a tiny bit bigger.”
I could feel him stiffening against me and started rocking my hips, but he stopped me. “We’re not going to rush this, Soph. For the first time in seven damn years, we don’t have to rush, so I am going to re-explore every inch of your gorgeous body, and you are going to fucking love it.”
Aiden pulled me tightly against his body and kissed me like he hadn’t kissed me in years. “Mmm,” I moaned into his lips as his strong, warm hands slid down my back and gripped my ass. His mouth made its way back down to my breasts, and I gasped when his teeth grazed my left nipple. Aiden teased my right nipple until my body tingled all the way down to my toes.
My breathing was getting heavy, and I suddenly wanted Aiden’s dick inside my pussy almost as much as I wanted air. This crazy level of desire took me entirely by surprise, but I loved it. Aiden’s hands were on my thighs now, and his thumb was circling my clit.
Damn, he was good with his hands. Had he always been this good with his hands? I mean, we had crazy hot sex when we were dating and newlyweds, but fuck. There was something so much more intimate about the way he was touching me now. It was like he’d cracked the secret code to my body and knew me in a way that no one else did.
Oh god, I was so close to orgasm. I bit my lip and moaned. “Mmm, Aiden, don’t stop!”
He pressed his lips against my neck and then my cheek, increasing the pressure of his thumb on my clit. “Kiss me, baby.” He growled in my ear. “Kiss me while you come.”
I found his lips right as the waves of pleasure crashed over me. The orgasm was so intense that I probably moaned loud enough for the neighbors to hear. When I finished, I collapsed against Aiden, completely out of breath.
He laughed and wrapped his arms around me. “Was that a good one, baby?”
“So fucking good.” I pressed my face into his neck. “Have you always been that good with your hands?” I thought of last night when he had me pinned against the wall in the hallway. “And your tongue?”
Aiden laughed again and lifted me off his lap, laying me down on our pile of blankets. He hovered over me and gazed into my eyes. “Maybe not always, but you haven’t given me much of a chance to show you lately.”
He was right. I hadn’t. “I’m sorry, baby. I get lost in motherhood sometimes and forget to be your Soph. I forget myself, too.”
“I know.” Aiden’s eyes were soft and filled with what looked like adoration. He rested his body against mine and gently brushed the hair from my forehead. “You’re the world’s best mom. You know that, right? Those little shits that we made are the luckiest kids in the world. I love parenting with you, Soph. I love our life. I just want you to relax and laugh and let me fuck you until you can’t walk every once in a while.”
Tears started to prick the corners of my eyes. I felt so loved and so alive with my husband’s naked body pressed into mine. Aiden still loved me. I still loved him so much. Our marriage didn’t have to just be fine. It could be incredible.
I wiped my tears and wrapped my arms around Aiden’s neck. I kissed him deeply and whispered, “I want that, too. Fuck me until I can’t walk, babe.”
Aiden gave me a wicked grin and nibbled on my neck. “I don’t know if you realize what you just agreed to.” Then he slid two fingers deep inside me, rubbing my G-spot like a fucking sex god.
I arched my back and moaned when I came for the second time.
“I want you fucking doggy style now. Get on your knees.” He flipped me over and gripped my hips. Aiden pushed into me like he couldn’t wait for another second and roughly fucked me until he spilled deep inside of me. “Damn, baby. Damn.” He collapsed next to me on the pile of blankets and pulled me into his arms. “This trip was the best idea you’ve ever had.”
Aiden
Sophie laughed. “I’m going to fall right on my face again.”
I grinned at her. “Probably. You’re terrible at skiing.”
Sophie laughed harder and adjusted her goggles. “Fuck you, Aiden.”
“Right here?” I glanced over my shoulder at all the other skiers on the snowy mountain. “I think society frowns on fucking in public, but I’m down if you want to.”
“Is it safe to say that you’re pretty much always DTF?” Sophie bit her lip and looked down at her skis, probably wondering if she was in the right position. She wasn’t.
“DTF?” I asked.
“Down to fuck.”
I laughed out loud. “Yes.” Then I pointed to her skis. “French fry, baby.”
Sophie groaned and moved her legs into a better skiing position. “I’m so sore!”
I was proud of that little fact, even though only half of her soreness was from me. The other half was from Sophie falling on her ass in the snow a hundred times.
“Ready?” I asked.
“I guess.”
I wasn’t the world’s best skier by any means, but I’d been at least three times more often than Sophie. I sailed down the slope and whipped around at the bottom to watch Soph. I laughed when I saw that she’d switched her skis to the pizza formation. She looked adorable.
Sophie made it to the bottom of the hill without falling and screamed, “I did it! Whoo!” And then she fell on her ass.
I laughed and collapsed next to her in the snow. She was laughing, too. I pulled off my helmet and pushed my goggles up, followed by Sophie’s, and smiled down at her.
Sop
hie tugged off her gloves and looped her arms around my neck. “Kiss me, baby.”
She didn’t have to ask twice. I leaned down and pressed my lips to her cold, smiling ones. “Let’s go back to our room and get that jetted tub going, yeah? Then we can head over to that little Christmas village that we saw on the way up.”
“Mmm… that sounds perfect, babe.”
◆◆◆
It was official. We needed a jetted tub in our master bathroom at home. It was perfect for soaking tired muscles and holding my wife’s gorgeous naked body.
After our bath, I watched Sophie slide into a little black dress and smiled when she applied red lipstick. I’d take her naked without a stitch of makeup any day, but it felt damn good to see her get all dolled up for me.
Had she been doing that all along and I just stopped noticing? She always said I didn’t compliment her anymore. I wanted to be better for her. “Soph,” I said. “You look gorgeous.”
Her pretty green eyes flashed over to meet mine, and a smile danced across her full red lips. “Thank you, baby. You look hot, too.” She gathered up her makeup from the counter and put it back in her little pink bag, then asked, “Ready to go?”
We walked hand-in-hand to the elevators and headed down to the lobby. I slid my hand down Sophie’s back and pinched her ass in the elevator. I would have done a hell of lot more if the doors didn’t open to let an elderly couple join us.
They smiled and said, “Good evening.”
I kept my hand on Sophie’s ass, thinking they couldn’t see me. What was I supposed to do, take my hand off my wife’s smoking hot ass? It wasn’t gonna happen.
I squeezed Sophie’s ass, and she bit her lip. The old woman winked at us and asked, “Newlyweds?”
Sophie’s cheeks turned as red as her lips, and she cleared her throat and smacked my hand away. “Uh, we’ve been together for about fifteen years actually — married for twelve. What about you two?”
“Oh! Well, congratulations!” The woman laughed and took her husband’s hand. “It’s been almost forty for us!”
Her husband reached down to squeeze his wife’s ass, too, and winked at me before they got off the elevator. Sophie and I laughed out loud and wished them a good night. Then Sophie turned to me and smiled. “Promise me we’ll be like that when we’re old.”
“I promise, baby. I’m never going to be able to stop grabbing that ass.”
We stopped by the lodge steakhouse for dinner. Once we were seated and served, Sophie leaned back in her chair and sighed. “It’s seriously so nice to eat a full meal without begging Mia to take another bite and dragging Max back to the table five-thousand times.” She took a sip of her wine. “We need to do more date nights! Why the hell did we stop doing date nights?”
I grinned at my wife and shrugged. “Kids?”
Sophie laughed and shook her head. “That’s even more of a reason to have nights out!”
“You’re right. Let’s make it happen.” I reached across the table and took her hand in mine. “I like seeing you all relaxed and happy like this, Soph.”
“I like being relaxed and happy.” Sophie frowned and stared down at her lap. “I’m sorry I’ve been so uptight lately. I swear I don’t mean to be.”
I let out a deep breath and stroked the back of her hand with my thumb. “You’re stressed, and I haven’t been much help. I work too much and don’t give you a break from the kids enough.”
Sophie’s eyes shot up to meet mine. “Yeah… that happens sometimes.” She bit her lip. “It’s more than that, though. I feel like I had a little identity crisis when I became a mom. And then, the uh, the blog didn’t help. I thought I had to be perfect. I tried so hard but always fell short.”
I brought her hand up to my lips and kissed it. “Baby, you are perfect. You don’t have to try so hard.”
Sophie gave me a soft smile. “Thank you.” Then she sighed and took a bite of her mashed potatoes. I told her not to order the fucking salad again, and from the look on her face, she was grateful for that.
She met my gaze and said, “I’m going to try to relax a little more often. But, I do kinda like the checklists, so those aren’t going anywhere.” Sophie was grinning now.
I pretended to groan. “Fine. You can keep your damn lists.” I didn’t really hate the lists. I knew they helped Sophie manage everything with the kids.
“I think I want to go back to school and finish my Master’s, too.” Sophie looked thoughtful. “Maybe when Max is a couple of years older.”
“Do you want to do it now? I can pick up the slack with the kids, or we can hire help if you don’t want to wait.” Sophie had been talking about going back to school for years, even before Max was born. She had a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, but she’d sacrificed her career for our little family. I was grateful for all she did for us, but I didn’t want to see her shrink or give up on her dreams. My baby was so damn smart. I wanted her to have everything.
“Hmm…” Sophie drummed her fingers against the table. “Maybe. I think it’s too late to register for spring classes, but I’ll look into it when we get back.”
“Good.” I smiled.
After dinner, we headed out to the car and drove down to the little Christmas village a few miles away from the lodge. It was three picturesque blocks of small shops and cobblestone paths. Everything was covered in twinkling Christmas lights and glitter. Soph was going to be in heaven.
As we walked through the Christmas village, I slowed to let Soph get ahead of me. I just wanted to watch her for a minute — my beautiful wife. I smiled and leaned against a little red brick candy store while Sophie admired the window display. “Oh my god, that is adorable! Look, babe, the caramel apples look like little Santas and snowmen!”
“Fucking adorable, Soph.” I wasn’t looking at the caramel apples. I was looking right at her and remembering the night we met. I was with a group of guys, heading home from a basketball game on the train. We were laughing and giving each other shit like twenty-something guys do when I glanced up and saw her staring at me.
Sophie’s blonde hair was shorter then, and she had those side-swept bangs that covered one eye. She was wearing a navy blue cotton dress with a jean jacket, and the strap of her cross-body bag settled right between her full, round breasts. Damn, she was the prettiest girl I’d ever seen. I couldn’t believe she was looking at me.
When our eyes met, and she realized I’d caught her staring, Sophie gave me a shy little smile and covered her face with one hand. She removed her hand after a moment and glanced back at me. I grinned and waved. Then I held up my left hand, pointed to my empty ring finger, and cocked an eyebrow.
Sophie laughed and bit her pretty bottom lip. Then she held up her left hand, too. She was single.
I crossed the train car and took the empty seat beside her. “So,” I smiled. “You were checking me out?”
She laughed. Her laugh was fucking adorable. I was already smitten. “I was. How do you feel about that?”
“Pretty damn good.”
We exchanged numbers next, and the rest was history.
Neither of us ever truly believed in love at first sight. It was attraction at first sight, no doubt, but the love part was something we’d built together, day by day, over the last fifteen years. The love part came when we showed up for each other and fought for each other, just like we were doing right now.
“Hey,” I called over to her.
Sophie tore her gaze away from the candy display. “Yeah?”
“Kiss me, baby.”
Sophie laughed and walked over to where I stood. She wrapped her arms around my neck and pressed her perfect lips into mine. “I love you, Aiden.”
“I love you, too, Soph.”
She smiled and reached up to wipe the lipstick from my lips. “Red’s definitely your color.”
“Yours, too.”
She sighed and rested her head against my chest. “I’m so glad we came on this trip.”
“Me t
oo.”
Sophie
It was December 30th, and Aiden and I were leaving our little slice of heaven and flying home in the morning. Well, it wasn’t quite heaven without our babies. I missed Mia and Max like crazy. All the video chats in the world couldn’t compare to one of Max’s sticky kisses or one of Mia’s “Super Strong Wonder Woman Hugs.”
I wanted to go home to our children, but I was a little bit afraid. It felt like Aiden and I had crossed oceans and fallen back in love over the last few days. I was relaxed and happy, and the sex was loud and mind-blowing. Would all of this disappear when we went back to our regular lives? Would I slip back into my high-strung mommy shoes? Would Aiden fall back into his habit of working too many hours?
My mind was already running away with worries as I stood in the little kitchenette making tea.
“Soph, what’s wrong?” Aiden wandered into the kitchen and pulled me into his arms. He pressed a soft kiss to my forehead. “You have those cute little worry lines going on right here.” He touched the spot between my eyebrows where my age was starting to show.
I laughed and leaned into him. “Cute? My wrinkles are cute?”
Aiden grinned at me. “Yes. What’s wrong?”
“I’m worried that we’re going to lose all of this again the second we get home. Our life is amazing, but it’s hard as hell to carve out time for ourselves and each other. I’m worried we won’t be able to do it.”
Aiden nodded and leaned against the counter. “That’s a valid concern, Soph. My job is demanding. The kids are demanding, and if you start going back to school, we’re all going to feel the strain. If I’m being honest, I think we are going to lose this a little bit.” He reached out and tucked my hair behind my ears. “But, there’s one thing I know about us today that I didn’t know four days ago. If we lose it, we’ll fight for each other and find it again.”
