The Circle

  She said she flew up to the mother ship to move it away from Earth because she was afraid it might become damaged by space debris from the moon. She left orbit to protect it and headed out into deeper space far enough away to keep it safe. She said that she again tried to call again but still could not make contact.

  Later she learned about the earthquakes from one of the star ship Captains who had come up to join her before she left orbit.

  Then she said she became very concerned that there might be more earthquakes because the earth no longer had a moon to help stabilize its orbit.

  She decided to begin a search of the galaxy to see if she could find a small unlivable planet that she could lock onto and bring to Earth to take the place of the previous moon.

  I loved the pleasure of having her body held tightly to mine. It has been so long since I ve been able to hold her like this. I had almost given up hope after thinking she had been killed in the last earthquake.

  Think back to when we first left the earth to avoid the holocaust, she said.

  I m thinking, what s your point? I asked.

  Well, we ve come full circle. We left the Earth at a time when it was in such peril that we couldn t save it. We ve returned to the same Earth to help bring it back into prominence. Our return to take control of our homeland completes the circle, she said.

  Maybe so, but it s not the same. It s a new circle we ve completed. We are several billion people short from the time our circle journey began, I said.

  You re right honey, but all that too was beyond our control. Things are different now. I propose that from this day forward the we make the best of our current situation.

  Then, after she finished telling me of her adventures, she looked at me and said:

  I like the new cabin. While I take a shower, you shave off that damn beard. You know I don t like to live with a gorilla. Once you ve done that, you can take a shower to remove that fishy smell. And throw those smelly clothes in the trash bin. By the time you do that, I might be in the mood to allow you to talk me into doing something naughty with you.

  At last, I had a reason for living again. After I finished shaving and showering, I was able to talk her in to doing something naughty in what was to become a blissful night of lovemaking.

  After all, we did not want to falter in our resolve to make the best of our current situation. We also agreed that night that we would complete the circle on our flag and move on with our lives on this rejuvenated earth that we can once again call home.

  God is great I thought as I fell into a restful asleep cuddled up beside the one I love.
