Change My Mind

He handed me the flute. I took a sip before turning to look at him. “How serious are you about letting me make decisions?”

“Dead serious. The power is yours. I will do whatever you think is right.”

I didn’t really like the total control thing, but I did want to test his commitment to what he was offering. “What if I decided the hotel business was not for us? What if I said you need to quit the business and move to a deserted island with me? Or if I said I wanted to sell everything and start a nonprofit that focused on saving alpacas?”

He smiled, his eyes holding mine. “Then I would say when do we start.”

  “Why?”

  “Why what?”

“Why would you give up all of this to do whatever I said?” I pressed.

“Because I trust you. You would never make a decision you didn’t think was in our best interests. I trust you to do what is right for both of us.”

He was good, really good. I could feel the ice around my heart melting away. “Chase, I would never do that. I would never make a big decision like that without talking to you. That is my point. I don’t want all the power. That is not a partnership. That is one of us always being the weak one. We are stronger together. We make better decisions when we talk things through. The decision for us to go to college was something we made together. That’s why it was hard for me when you up and changed your mind without telling me.”

“I know. I get it. I won’t do it again.”

“I don’t want one of us making decisions. I don’t want power. That is not healthy. Can you promise to clue me in to anything big going on in your life? I’m not saying I will always go along with you, but if we can bounce ideas off of each other, we’ll be better for it.”

“I will always clue you in.”

  “And vice versa.”

He was nodding. “Yes. I swear. Just give me one more chance. You won’t regret it.”

I believed him. I felt his sincerity. Any man who recreated a prom just for me was definitely worth a second chance. Or third chance as the case may be. Wherever we were on the chance scale, it didn’t matter. We were both imperfect. If he was willing to take a chance on me, I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.

“All right, you get your last chance. You earned it with that whole night under the stars, but right now, I don’t want to be under the stars. I want to be under you.”

His eyes widened, his nostrils flared, and in a flash, he took the glass from my hand and put it down. His arms went around me, and his mouth covered mine. In that moment, everything was perfect once again. His mouth opened, his tongue plunging inside as he rubbed his body against mine. It was what I longed for. His hard muscles pushed against my body felt so right.

“Thank you,” he whispered against my lips.

  “For?”

“Being so damn good to me.”

I smiled as he slowly backed me up through the living room and into his bedroom. “You are a good man. Thank you for being so good to me.”

“I’ll always be good to you.”

“Did you send me this dress?” I asked as he slowly turned me around.

He kissed my shoulder. “I did.”

His hand went to the zipper and slowly pulled it down. The soft fabric slid from my body and fell to the floor. He dropped another kiss on my shoulder before pushing my hair out of the way and kissing the back of my neck. Goosebumps spread over my flesh as his gentle kisses spanned from one shoulder to the other.

  “It’s a beautiful dress,” I murmured.

“It was beautiful on you. I like the jewelry.”

“I suppose you would. They matched perfectly.”

“I was hoping you would wear the necklace and earrings,” he said, coming around to stand in front of me. His eyes dropped to the necklace sitting against my chest. “I feel like you are wearing my mark. Don’t hate me, but damn I feel possessive when you are wearing them. It’s like I’m there, resting against your skin.”

I smiled, not at all bothered by his need to mark me. “Then I’ll make sure to wear them often.”

“I’ll buy you more. You’ll have something for every outfit, every occasion.”

I gasped when his hand reached up and cupped my breast. His mouth dropped to my nipple, gently sucking it. I groaned, dropping my head back as my hands moved over his strong arms still hidden in the jacket.

“Too many clothes,” I managed to get out. I was lost in the moment. He made my body feel so good.

“I agree. This is the downside to wearing a tux. Too many clothes.”

“Do you like that tux?” I asked him, the haze clearing a bit.

He looked down at it. “It’s not my normal tux.”

  I grinned. “Good.”

I reached for the jacket and pushed it down his arms before taking a fistful of the pristine white shirt in my hands and tugging it from where it was tucked in tight. I gave the front a good jerk and popped a few buttons. His hands quickly went to his bowtie and untied it while I reached around and undid the cummerbund.

He was right. There was a lot involved with the tux. By the time we managed to get him stripped down to his briefs, I felt like I had been in a marathon.

“Finally,” he groaned, reaching for me and pulling me against his hard body.

His kiss damn near made me melt where I stood. He was a fantastic kisser. Hell, he was fantastic at everything he did. I rubbed against him, hooking one leg around his much stronger one and feeling the tickle of his hairs on the back of my leg.

“I love you,” he whispered next to my ear.

  “I love you,” I repeated.

A flip was switched. The man turned into a man on a mission. His kisses intensified. I could barely keep up. He lifted me, carrying me to the bed and dropping me on the firm mattress.

His hands reached up, jerking my panties down before he dove face first between my legs. The intensity of his mouth against my pussy had me screaming for mercy and begging for more at the same time. My heels dug into the bed, sliding away from him and arching against him.

He hooked his arms around my thighs, jerking me against him as his tongue lapped and suckled. The orgasm slammed into me, leaving me slapping the bed as I struggled to gain some kind of focus. I felt like I was spinning away from earth.

When I finally came back down, he was kissing a line up my belly, his hands massaging my hips and sliding up my ribcage.

“So good,” he whispered before kissing an erect nipple.

“My turn,” I replied and forced him onto his back.

I didn’t give him a chance to argue before I straddled him and slid down his body. I pushed his briefs away and wrapped my hand around his beautiful erection. “I’ve craved this,” I told him before sliding him deep into my mouth.

He sucked in a breath. One of his hands went to my hair, grabbing a fistful of it and gently tugging. “You’re going to kill me.”

I kept going, running my tongue up and down his length and sucking hard. His hand dropped away from my hair and fell to the bed. His hips jerked up, slamming his dick down my throat. I took it all, every last inch.

“Fuck,” he shouted and practically threw me off him.

I blinked several times, finding myself flat on my back with him coming over me.

“I have to be inside you,” he groaned.

His thick cock slid in with one long stroke. I arched my back, meeting his hips with mine. “Yes,” I cried out.

The feeling of our bodies joined together again was heavenly.

“I’ve missed this,” he said. “I’ve dreamed about being inside of you every damn night. You can’t leave me again. I will not survive without this.”

I smiled, feeling a little dazed as I reached up to push his hair away from his face. I’d gotten a little carried away when he was between my legs and mussed up his perfect hairdo. “I missed you.”

“Never leave me,” he grunted, driving himself inside me.

  I gave a shak
e of my head. “I won’t.”

“I love this. I love feeling your body squeezing mine. I will never be the same without you. You make my head spin with ecstasy.”

A short laugh escaped my mouth, only to be replaced by a sharp gasp as he thrust again. “You make me wet just by looking at me. I can orgasm just thinking about you and me like this.”

He kissed my neck. “I like the thought of you wet when you’re around me. You certainly make me hard.”

“You know this is going to be trouble, right?”

  “How?”

“I’m going to want you in bed all the time.”

He squeezed his eyes closed and appeared to be counting. “You drive me fucking crazy with need.”

I stopped talking and gave over to the act. His body melded with mine, driving inside me before pulling out and holding perfectly still. I was quivering, shaking with need for him. I never knew I could need a person so much. I felt empty with him hovering just outside my opening.

  “Ready?” he whispered.

I was moaning, my legs open as I writhed beneath him. The tip of his cock positioned over my clit. I arched, rubbing myself against him, using his cock to find my own pleasure. I couldn’t form words. I was completely lost in the moment. I looked up at him, and his eyes locked on my face as I moved under him.

“Please, Chase. I need you so bad.”

“Just a little more,” he whispered. “Take yourself to the edge. This is all you. You have the power.”

I closed my eyes, grinding my pussy against his solid cock until I felt my body erupt in a violent orgasm. That was when he chose to fill me. He slid inside as my body clamped down on him, dragging him deeper inside as I cried out in sweet ecstasy. I heard his heavy breathing. I reached up to touch his biceps and felt the strain of his muscles as he fought to hold control. He didn’t move, keeping his body still as I fucked him from underneath. I bounced my hips, sliding him in and out of my body as I took my pleasure.

When the orgasm finally released, I went limp beneath him. When I opened my eyes again, he was still staring down at me. “God damn, you’re beautiful.”

I offered a slow smile. “You’re not so bad yourself.”

  Chapter 74

  Chase

My muscles ached and began to spasm as I held myself over her. It had damn near killed me not to move while she fucked me. I wanted her to be in total control. She could use my dick to bring herself to pleasure as much as she wanted.

That had been the most erotic experience of my life. I would never get tired of watching her face as she came all over my dick. It was beautiful and such a turn-on, I was certain my head would explode with pleasure.

“I can’t,” I groaned and dropped on her. I shifted to the side a little, still deep inside her slick pussy.

“Roll over,” she said, her voice muffled.

I felt her pushing my chest and rolled to my back. She sat up, looking down at my body with a satisfied smile on her face. “Baby, you keep looking at me like that and you’re going to want to duck and cover. I’m going to blow any second.”

She offered a sultry smile before crawling over me. I put my hands on her hips, helping her get in position before she ever so slowly slid down my dick, enveloping me in that slick, wet heat once again. I closed my eyes, relishing in the feel of her before opening them once again to look up into her gorgeous green eyes.

  “Better?” she asked.

  “So much better.”

She began to move, slowly at first like she was just getting warmed up. I let her set the pace, even though I was dying to pound myself inside her. Her way was better. It was sensual and sweet and absolutely what I wanted.

“Ready?” she asked in a raspy voice.

  “For?”

She leaned forward, her breasts brushing over my bare chest as she planted a kiss on me. “I’m going to ride you like I’m heading off into the sunset.”

My body jerked with excitement. She reared back and followed through with her promise. She rode me hard, her breasts bouncing and her hair brushing over my thighs as she leaned back. Staring up at those gorgeous full breasts and watching her face bloom with pleasure was all I could take. I finally gave in to the orgasm that had been fighting to be freed since she first ran her tongue over my cock.

I gave her all of me. Every ounce of my soul pumped inside her. She collapsed against my chest, her mouth sucking at my neck as we slowly came down from the high. I hugged her against me, knowing I was never letting her go again.

For the first time in a very long time, I felt whole. I felt content. I wasn’t chasing her. I wasn’t worried she was going to get up and leave. This wasn’t a no-strings thing. This had all the strings and I couldn’t have been happier. I wanted to lie with her in my arms forever.

  “Chase?”

  “Hmm?”

“That article,” she started. “I don’t get it.”

  “What do you mean?”

“If you felt that way, why didn’t you just tell me?”

I blew out a breath. “I don’t know. I wish I would have. In my own twisted way, I thought it would be romantic. I thought you would see it as a bold gesture. I was telling the world how in love I was with you.”

  “But you never told me.”

“I was going to. I had every intention of doing so. That night, when we were supposed to have dinner, I was going to tell you everything. I thought we turned a corner in our relationship and I was ready to tell you I was still in love with you. I never stopped loving you. The article was stupid. I thought you would read it and be impressed with my confidence we were going to be together. It was cocky and arrogant, and after looking back, I realize how stupid it was.”

“I don’t think it was stupid, and now that I understand your reasoning, I get it.”

“I actually thought it would be one of those stories we told our kids one day. I really got caught up in the idea.”

She softly laughed. “You really did get carried away.”

“I’m sorry. I should have stopped to think about how it would make you feel. I wanted to make a big gesture and I thought me putting my heart out there was it. I guess I didn’t stop to think I was putting your heart out there as well without really knowing your heart.”

“You did it for the right reasons, even if the execution was a little off.”

“I wanted to tell you about it that night at the cabin. It is why I went out there. I chickened out. Every time I wanted to tell you, something got in the way.”

  “Like?”

“I think we’re skipping over one very big thing,” I told her.

  “What’s that?”

“Tawny,” I said, unable to keep the sour look off my face.

She groaned and slid off my chest. I kept my arm around her. I wasn’t letting her get away. “What about her?”

“I’m sorry for the way she treated you. It was not cool.”

“I didn’t realize she had the hots for you.”

“Me either. What she said and what she did was not cool. I went to the mall that day to tell you about the article and why I did it. I wanted to tell you how much I loved you. It’s why I went the night before as well.”

“I can’t believe I was so stupid to think she wanted me to work for her. I should have known she didn’t really want to be my friend.”

“You couldn’t have known. I didn’t. What about Oliver?”

  “What about him?”

“Will you go to work for him now that the Tawny thing didn’t work out?”

“No. Absolutely not. Oliver is one of the most self-absorbed people I have ever met. I couldn’t make it through dinner with him. No way am I going to submit myself to his employment.”

I grinned, tucking her head under my chin. “Good. I didn’t want to have to beat the guy up.”

“Oh, that would have gone over like a lead balloon.”

“I wish I would have told you sooner.”

  “Told me what?”
/>   “That I loved you. That I never stopped loving you. I’ve been in love with you for as long as I can remember. I’m never going to let you go again. I feel like I lost ten years. Ten years of my life I wasted because I wasn’t man enough to chase you down and tell you how stupid I was for not trying harder. I regret so many decisions I made.”

“You can’t live with regret. I think we had to go our separate ways to get to where we are now. What would your life be like if you didn’t go to work with your dad? The chance the family business would fail completely is very probable. It sucked at the time, and I do wish we could have spent those ten years together, but I don’t want to live in the past. We have right now. We’ve learned a lot and now we can make better decisions.”

I kissed the top of her head. “You’re so smart.”

  “I do try.”

“You don’t have to try. You just are. It’s why I want to be with you. I’m totally taking advantage of your smarts.”

She laughed, turning her face up to mine. “I have one favor to ask.”

“Anything. I will give you anything and I’m not sure if you know this or not, but I’m a rich guy. I can actually give you anything.”

She groaned. “No, you cannot turn into an Oliver Rook.”

“I’m kidding, but seriously, what do you want? I will make it happen.”

“I want you to be straight with me. When something is on your mind and you know you have a big decision to make, tell me. I want to be a part of your life. I don’t want to be in the backseat.”

“I promise I will never make another decision again without consulting you. What should I wear tomorrow?”

She pinched my stomach. “Stop it. I don’t expect a consult for everything, but we definitely have to work on our communication skills. You cannot throw a prom and hit the reset button every time we have a fight.”

“Sure, I can, but I’m hiring a different DJ. I’ll just keep one on retainer. You could help me out by giving me a list of your favorite songs. That is sure to get me back into your good graces.”
