I hesitate to try it out on myself, not so much just because of what could happen to me, but just because of the repercussions for others.
Oh well ... whatever ... they hate me. They ridicule me. They do not care what happens to me. And I don't care if anything happens to me. I am going to try it.
Just as a preventative measure: If anything dramatic or apocalyptic were to happen, just know that the impacts of these transformations can most likely be undone by utilizing the gadget on my desk. It sends an active, high frequency signal that cannot be heard by humans but has a lasting influence on the brains of those changed by this formula. It should do the trick, if my computations are precise. Here I go ... for mankind ... Wow ... Dexter, Jane, and Trevor gazed at each other for several seconds. Was it truly going to be that basic?
Chapter 8: The Future Is Bright
Suddenly, the door made a noise. One of the zombies had seen them and tried to get in.
" Well, if we are going to try it," Dexter said, "we better do it quick. Now!”
" I'm on it," Trevor said as he jumped over the desk and grabbed the gadget the Professor had written about.
" Look out!" Jane shouted, pointing at a zombie that leapt through the class window. Dexter fired his AK-47. "Got him!" But as he did that, the door behind him opened up and a female zombie got him, opening up her mouth to bite him.
BAM!!!!!!
What was that?
Jane shot the female zombie in the face.
" He is my man, ugly wench," Jane said as if she was copying a one-liner from an action movie.
" Good going!" Dexter said with a smile. "Thank you for saving my life!”
" You 'd do the exact same for me," Jane said. "Like my style? I know how to kill the competition. Haha!”
The hordes were still coming. There were at least twenty zombie in the hallway now.
" Rush already!" Dexter yelled at Trevor. "We are going to die if you do not do something!”
" Just attempting to figure this thing out," Trevor responded.
The zombies were coming closer every second. It was as if everything took place in slow-motion. Dexter and Jane were firing their weapons like never before, but the hordes overpowered them. Both of them were knocked to the ground, along with their weapons, having several zombies get on them who tried to punch them down even more and bite them.
" Aha! I got it!" Trevor screamed.
Dexter was going to lose his face by a zombie with a drooling mouth when ... The zombies stopped. The insane look in their eyes had vanished. They started taking a look around and gaze at the environment they were in. Dexter didn't wait a second and punched the one on top of him in the face.
" Ouch! Why did you do that?"
Dexter and Jane looked at one another and started to smile. It appeared like the gadget had worked. The frequency transfigured the zombies' brains. The zombies in the classroom weren't zombies anymore. They were just people in rags and with dirty faces, just wondering what had occurred and why they were there.
" Sorry," Dexter said to the former zombie. "Just had to blow off some steam. Don't worry about it. We'll talk about it later. Thanks, Trevor! You are the MAN!”
Jane got up and hugged Dexter.
" Dexter ... I. I." she stammered.
" What is it, Jane?" Dexter asked.
" Do you remember the day of the explosions in the classroom, the day before everything begun?" Jane asked.
" Obviously," Dexter said. "Who wouldn't?"
" Well," Jane continue, "I was about to ask you something, but then we both got distracted."
" What is it?" Dexter asked.
" I was wondering if I could give you a kiss," Jane said.
" Uhmm ..." Dexter said as he became a little red.
He had developed some good feelings for Jane in the procedure of the entire zombie apocalypse, although he had always couldn't admit it. Now he was challenged with what he had been rejecting for so long.
" Uh ... all right," Dexter said in an unstable voice.
Jane bent forward and kissed him for a few seconds.
" This is the first of many," she said as her entire face became red but happy.

The Rivalry
Chapter 1: The Hairbrush
She brushes her long, brown hair and looks into the mirror.
" Why is it always so hard to keep it straight? I love straight hair. I wish I had it like Amelia, with a little bit of a curl at the end and straight in the middle. Her hair is perfect, but I am stuck to these bothersome brushes, trying to correct the alignment of everything out. Erg ... So dumb."
Aurora looks at the reflection of her face. "Well, at least my eyes are pretty," she says with full confidence, "but I don't know if that's going to convince Axel. I wish he was intelligent enough to notice that I've had a crush on him for months. Maybe I will go to Amelia and ask her what to do."
After she grabs her bag and runs out of the house in her striped shirt, Aurora snatches a sandwich from the counter, screams, "Thanks, Mom!" and shuts the door. She rushes to the home of her buddy, Amelia, who has consented to see her and talk about stuff.
They love to talk, these two girls, and they can go on and on for a long period of time. One time, it was after midnight and they totally forgot the time. They speak about everything: Appearances, music, people, boys ... but a ton of times, they talk about horses.
Amelia and Aurora are horse girls, and they each have their own horse. Aurora is 11 years of age; she got a horse from her father, who has a good job in the town where they live. Amelia, on the other hand, is 13; she had to work really hard to save up, but she declares that she does not envy her female friend for getting it for free.
Aurora knocks on the front door and Amelia opens up.
" Aurora! I am glad you came early. Come in."
" How have you been?" Aurora asks.
" Not bad. Okay. Have you been seeing some boys recently?" Amelia asks while laughing.
" I just still like Axel," Aurora says. "You already knew that." All of a sudden, she looks at Amelia's hair and says, "Whoa. How did you do that?"
" Do what?" Amelia would like to know.
" That thing with your hair. I was just thinking of it today. I do not know how you always get it the way you do."
" Oh, you mean with the swirl and stuff?" Amelia asks. "That's my little trick. Do you assure not to tell anyone?"
" Sure. Tell me."
" I will show you. Come on. It's upstairs."
Loaded with interest, Aurora follows her good friend up the stairs and into her room. Amelia bends over and moves some things around in her drawer. Then she gets a hairbrush from the bottom of the drawer and shows it to Aurora.
" This is it," she says.
" I don't comprehend," Aurora says. "What is so special about it?"
" It's not just a hairbrush," Amelia says, describing the pink item in her hand. "It's a magical hairbrush."
" Ha-ha! Are you serious?"
" Yes," Amelia says with a serious face. "It aligns your hair immediately."
" Can I use it?" Aurora asks.
" No, of course not."
" Huh?" Aurora didn't expect this response. She does not understand. "Why not?" she asks. "What's wrong with using your hairbrush?"
" Like I said, it's a magical hairbrush, and it belongs to me. You use enough magic as it is."
" What's that supposed to mean?" Aurora asks, feeling a little upset.
" I finally have something that you do not, and now you want to have it too? No chance. You have magic spells that make pearls appear, skeletons die, or kip down circles. I am not very good at any of those things. For some reason, you have a propensity for magic. It's not fair. I have always been jealous of you; and now I have something that you can be envious of. It's as simple as that."
" I can't believe my ears," Aurora says. "You never said anything. Stop being so childish! We always share."
" You never share you
r spells," Amelia argues.
" That's as I can't share them. You have to study the ancient arts of magic. It's your own fault that you're so bad at it. If you would have studied more, you would have been good at casting spells too."
" My own fault ?! That's it! Get out of my room!"
Aurora gets out of the room. "So now what, Amelia?"
" Uhm ... and now, get out of my home! I don't want to see you again for the rest of the week!"
" Too bad! We'll see one another in school!"
" Okay, nowhere else then. Go out already!"
" Great!”
Aurora stomps as she descends down the stairs and slams the door. She is furious. She will avenge herself. That selfish Amelia! She is going to pay. Why won't she just share her magical hairbrush with her? After all, her hair is always perfect; does not she want her to have the same charm?
" And how am I going to impress Axel?" she considers loud. "My hair is ruined. He will see. I can't let her do this to me."
And she does not ...
That night, when it's dark, Aurora waits until her mom and dad are downstairs and sneaks out of the upstairs window. She jumps down without harming herself.
PLOF!
" Now, let's see how I can enter Amelia's room without noticing," she thinks.
She tiptoes to Amelia's house and searches for. On the main floor, the lights are on, but on the second floor, there are no lights.
" Good," she thinks. "She must be downstairs. Let's hope I am right."
She goes up, holding onto the drain pipe, and checks out Amelia's dark bedroom. It looks like the coast is clear. Aurora opens the window and sneaks inside. Then she searches in the drawer and finds the hairbrush.
" Ha!" she says, congratulating herself that she found it. "Let's see whose hair will be perfect in the early morning."
After she leaps down, she runs back to her house, but she forgot to close the window.
Chapter 2: Payback
Amelia wakes up. She yawns. She extends her arms. Then she rises, takes off her night dress, and puts on a t-shirt and a skirt. She opens the drawer and reaches inside it.
" Huh?" she says. "I thought I put it right there. Where is my hairbrush?"
She looks around in the room, wondering if she has been careless with it or left it in a corner. She looks for some minutes ... and then she sees the open window.
" What?!" she exclaims. "That has to be Aurora's doing. She wanted the brush so badly. She stole it! Oh, that ... she has every little thing! Her daddy bought her a horse, she can use magic all she wants, and the ONE thing she won't let me have, is more lovely hair. Well, if you want to play this game, let's see who wins, girl! You're decreasing."
That early morning, it takes her 10 times as long to get her hair done, but she doesn't care. She has a plan to get back at her previous good friend. She puts on some additional makeup and leaves to school.
Sneakier than ever, she walks around on the playground and look for Aurora. She does not speak with her, but she observes her from a distance. Aurora looks pretty today, and yes, her hair is perfectly straight. She walks around as if she owns the place, with her shoulders up and a huge smile on her face.
" Aurora is going to get it," Amelia thinks. "I have to do it at the correct moment. It has to be timed accurately." She examines her shoulder and sees Axel. He is by himself.
" Awesome," Amelia thinks. "It's time for some revenge."
She walks over to him and strokes her hair. "Hee-hee, your name is Axel, isn't it?" she asks.
" Yes, it is. What is your name?"
" I am Amelia. I don't know if you have seen, but I was taking a look at you all the time."
" Oh, uhm ... why did you do that?" Axel asks a little awkwardly.
" Because you're handsome, silly," Amelia says as she moves closer to him.
Axel steps back, but Amelia will not let him go. She keeps flirting with him, grabbing his arm and rubbing his shoulder with her hand; and while she does, Aurora looks their way.
There is no pen in the world that can explain how Aurora feels at that moment. Her presumed friend is making a move on her crush! He was meant to be hers! How dare she ?!
By now, Axel is sitting down and Amelia is sitting really near him, practically on his lap. He appears like he enjoys the attention, but does not actually know what to do with it. Then she leans over and kisses him on the cheek. She carefully touches his chest for a 2nd and steps away.
" Tah-tah, Axel ... cutie ... see you in class," she says as she overemphasizes the way her hips move back and forth while she leaves. Then she moves her look to Aurora, smirks, and squints her eyes, as if to say, "That's what you get for taking my hairbrush."
Chapter 3: Why?
Aurora is boiling up inside. She dislikes her! She dislikes that narcissistic, insolent brat! She despises Amelia! How dare she flirt with Axel like that? She knew it! She did it on purpose! Ughh ... that's it!
" Are you serious?" she says aloud, not caring that other kids can hear her. "This means war."
She endures the classes in school, although she wants to just damage everything around her. She will not even look at Amelia. She wants nothing to do with her. In the meantime, she is considering an act of ruthlessness.
" What can I do that will actually hurt her?" she thinks. "There must be something ... something she actually appreciates ... something she holds dear more than anything, besides her hairbrush and her hair, naturally. Let's see ... aha! Oh, that's dark. That's mean, but she asked for it. She began it."
After school, neither of them speak with one another. It's different than it used to be. On a normal day, they would walk home together and talk about life, about their insane instructors, or the things their peers said in the classroom. But this time, they silently separate from one another.
Aurora heads straight for the grass fields beyond town, the fields where their horses are. The two girls have been friends for so long that they even put their horses in the same area. But this time, it's only Aurora who goes to the horses. Amelia has no clue what she is really up to.
As Aurora reaches the fields, she looks at the horses and thinks, "Do I actually want to do this?
A peek of Amelia's laughter and her kiss on Axel's cheek flashes through her head. "Yes, I'm sure," she says in a low voice. "She is going to regret what she did."
Aurora jumps over the fence and approaches Amelia's horse. As she focuses, she mumbles the words, "Horsey, horsey that I have fed, become like one of the really dead." She waves her hands through the air to empower her enchantment.
Poooooof!
In front of her, Amelia's horse undergoes an instantaneous change of appearance. Its eye sockets sag down; its students vanish into a hollow, empty gaze; and its skin turns green as the flesh starts to reek of rotting decay.
" Moowah-ha-ha-ha-haaaah!" Aurora exclaims. "Let's see if you still like your zombie horse you saved up for, Amelia! It's not alive any longer; it's not dead ... it's an UNDEAD horse! Ha-ha-ha!"
The zombie horse snorts. Its eyes are looking soulless and evil. It's on a damaging objective. Before Aurora understands it, the zombie horse begins to assault the other horses in the corral. It performs at them and tries to kick them with its feet.
" O-oh," Aurora says. "I didn't expect that. I better get out of here."
She runs towards the fence and jumps back over it. Then she takes a look at what the zombie horse is doing.
" No!" she shrieks. "What's it doing?!”
The regret overcomes her as she understands that the zombie horse is attacking her horse too. Aurora's horse installs some sort of a battle but then gives up. It escapes and leaps over the other side of the fence, vanishing into the mountains as it gallops away.
" No! No, no, no, no, no ... this was not supposed to happen," Aurora says in anguish. "I wish I would have been more cautious. Now I lost my own horse."
However, the wicked zombie horse isn't done yet.
Chapter 4: Zombie
Stallion
The zombie horse looks at Aurora and comes running towards her.
" Stay away from me!" Aurora shouts. "Help! Heeeeelp!”
But it will not stop pursuing her. She reaches the village, and some of its residents come out of their houses to see what is happening.
" Heeeelp!" Aurora still yells as she keeps running.
They take a look at her with huge eyes, not understanding why she is in so much panic, but when they look behind her, they immediately figure it out. The zombie horse has a scary appearance, frightening the villagers and triggering them to flee too. There is an outbreak of fear in town. People are shouting as they try to go away from the insidious-looking beast.
" Leave me alone!”
" Get away from me!”
Other similar exclamations are being heard throughout the village. Amelia gets out of her home too. When she sees the zombie horse, she squints her eyes for a moment and says, "Fall? Is that you?"
The zombie horse blinks. It snorts and breathes greatly; then it performs at her. Amelia quickly steps inside and shuts the door. The zombie horse bonks its head against the door and tries to get in, ramming the door with its head constantly.
" It must be my horse," she says. "It's her; I simply know it, but how could she have turned into ...?"
Unexpectedly, it dawns on her who her only enemy is.
" Aurora," she says. "It's Aurora, that filthy ... oh, if I get my hands on her ..."
The zombie horse keeps making efforts to get in. Amelia counts herself lucky that this beast isn't intelligent enough to go through one of the windows. She locks the door and runs upstairs, hiding underneath her bed.
" If only my mother and father were home," she mumbles while panting greatly. "This is insane. A zombie horse? That's so harmful!”
She buries her head in her face and waits.
She waits and waits ... hoping that this nightmare will quickly be over.
