Heavy breathing suddenly materialized at my side. I glanced at the Shocker, feeling extreme, feverish heat emanating from her body, her sweaty, enraged expression. Her eyes were alight with battle lust, voice husky and threatening. “I'll creatively take you apart,” she promised Diep.
He lowered the blade and gestured, smiling as if seeing an ex-girlfriend. “Ah! Hello Clarice Ares! Nice to see you haven't been arrested by the FBI and carted back to prison.” He cocked his head to one side. “How's Alan Carter? Is your husband still a criminal hacker?”
“I'm here, you fried transistor,” Ace spat, appearing over her shoulder. Bobby and Patty crowded behind me, glaring at the tablet with folded arms.
“And your wondrous friends!” The Elder Tiger waved the knife cheerily at Patty and Bobby. “Hello! I've heard so much about you. Will you be joining Razor, Clarice and Alan in the afterlife?”
“There is no afterlife, you worm,” Patty said, talking to Diep like he was the biggest moron she'd ever met. Then she growled, “As you'll soon find out.”
“That's right, Prickless,” Shocker huffed through gritted teeth. She stuck her face up to the tablet and assured our enemy, “We're coming for you.”
