“But Momma, she’s lying,” she pouted.
“I’m not lying, Daisy. He had a meeting, and he’ll be here if he can,” I said.
She rolled her eyes. “Now you say that he’ll be here if he can. Five minutes ago, you said that he would be here. Which is it?”
I just shrugged my shoulders. “I’m not sure. Maybe he’ll be here. Maybe he won’t.”
“Is he even real, or he is a figment of your imagination?” Daisy asked.
“He is definitely real, my dear sister.”
“He’s real? You don’t say? What’s his name? Can you even tell us that?”
“His name? Of course I can tell you his name. His name is Weston.”
“Weston. That’s it? Does he have a last name, or does he only have a stage name?”
I gestured toward the television where they were showing footage of him getting off the plane yesterday. “Young.”
I saw the shock on everyone’s faces. Daisy laughed incredulously. “You mean to tell me that you are dating Weston Young? You are incredible. How can you lie like that? You’re dating a billionaire? That’s why you don’t have even a picture of you with him.”
“Yes, I am,” I said. “Frankly, I don’t care if you believe me or not. It has nothing to do with you.”
“He’s here,” Darlene yelled. “OMG, he’s here!”
“Darlene, stop with your nonsense and go get a drink,” my sister snapped.
“But he’s here. Look for yourself if you don’t believe me.” Darlene pouted and pointed her finger behind me.
Everyone turned around and stared behind me. My sister looked like she’d swallowed her tongue. It took a moment for me to register whom Darlene was talking about, but then I turned around and there he was—gloriously hot and with impeccable timing.
My sister rushed over to him to ask him if we were dating—no doubt about that—and he came toward me, took my face in his hands, and kissed me. Really kissed me. His lips felt hot and hungry, but he broke the kiss too soon. I felt dizzy.
“I missed you so much today. I’m sorry I’m late, but your mayor really likes to talk,” Weston said and winked at me. He bent down and gave me another kiss on the lips. “Angel, you promised to introduce me to your family. I can’t wait to meet them.”
I turned to my family. They all stared at us, and I was amazed at their shocked faces. My sister looked as if she’d been left without a wedding dress on the eve of the wedding. They all looked like they couldn’t believe that someone like Weston Young was my boyfriend. That annoyed and upset me.
Weston took my hand and squeezed it slightly. I smiled at them and turned to my father. “Dad, this is my boyfriend, Weston Young. Weston, this is my dad, Beau Richard Angel.”
“Weston, I’m glad to meet you. Welcome to Bedford. I hope you take great care of my girl.”
“Thank you, Mr. Angel. You’ve raised an extraordinary girl, sir. I’m honored to be her boyfriend. You don’t have to worry; she’s safe with me.”
CHAPTER 5
WESTON
We were quiet on the way to the hotel. I felt horrible because I had been late for the party and her sister was harassing Sara. Her sister was not a good person, and I suspected she was behaving so badly because she was jealous of Sara.
Sara was in a weird mood, and I didn’t know her well enough to know what to do to cheer her up. I realized that although we hadn’t known each other for a long time, and there were still so many things I needed to know about her, I was more and more confident that she was the one.
I squeezed her hand encouragingly, and she turned her head and smiled at me. My heart stopped.
“I’m so sorry I was late. Are you feeling all right?” I asked.
“Yes, I feel perfect. Don’t get me wrong, I love my family and my hometown very much, but I was just thinking about how happy I am with my life now. And with you,” she whispered. “In a way, I’m glad that you were late. I finally stood up for myself, so I feel like I have finally left the past behind.”
I leaned over and touched her lips lightly with mine, and she buried her face in my shoulder. “I’m glad you’re happy with me. I know we haven’t known each other for a long time, but I feel the same way about you.”
“I’m realizing that life is too short, and I want to live it to the fullest,” Sara said, and then she closed her full lips on mine, and I realized it was the first time she had initiated a kiss.
I felt the weight of her breasts against me, and I reached and grabbed one curvaceous breast, cupping it in my hand, squeezing hard through her silk dress. Lust burned in my brain when she arched against me, and cries of passion filled my ears.
“We’re here, sir,” the driver said, and I withdrew my hand.
My assistant had booked us a two-bedroom suite when she made the reservation, and I was glad. I planned to go take a cold shower to ease my raging sexual frustration and jack off at least a couple of times.
We left the car and entered the elevator. I refrained from grabbing her and kissing her in the elevator because I knew the hotel had surveillance cameras, and I didn’t want to put on a show for the hotel’s security staff.
She looked irresistible with her golden dress, her red lips, and nude pumps. I pulled her into my arms the moment we entered the apartment. Her breasts were pressed against my suit, her thighs touching mine. I wanted to peel that dress off her and caress her beautiful breasts, but I didn’t want to put pressure on her, so I broke the kiss and moved away. I put on some music, hoping to lighten the mood a little.
Sara had bewitched me from the moment I met her, and I desired her with every fiber of my being, but I didn’t want to push her into doing something she wasn’t ready for. Sara looked away and fumbled with her hair, but then she approached me and lightly placed her hands on my chest.
“I know what you think,” she said. “I assure you that I am ready, and I want to do this with you.”
“Perhaps this is not the best moment to start your sex life. Don’t get me wrong, I would love to make love to you, but it doesn’t have to be tonight. I can wait.” I gently pushed her away.
“You don’t get to decide when I start my sex life. If you don’t want to do it, that’s fine, but I am ready.” She took her shoes off and fumbled with her dress’s zipper. Our eyes met, and I saw the resolve they held.
Ever since I’d met Sara, I had wanted her, and it seemed that my wish would be coming true tonight.
Our gazes held, and attraction sizzled between us. I looked at her full lips, my control starting to unravel. Sara had managed to unzip her dress and stopped. She looked timidly at me, her innocent blue eyes my undoing. I don’t think she was aware of the devastating effect she had on me. She looked so seductive clutching her dress with her hand to prevent it from falling.
I took a deep breath. “Are you sure?”
She bit that plump bottom lip and nodded. I smelled her arousal, and her perfume sent ripples of want down my spine. I approached and took her in my arms, lowering my head and claiming her soft lips. Sara melted in my arms and her legs gave way. I lifted her in my arms and strode to her room. Even if it was a hotel room, I assumed it would be more comfortable for her to be in an environment she knew.
CHAPTER 6
SARA
Everything will be fine, I chanted over and over in my head. I was frightened that I would do something wrong since I was sure Weston was used to women who were experienced in bed.
Weston picked me up, cupped my chin, and made me look into his eyes. “Angel, breathe, everything is great. I can feel the wave of panic gripping you. You’re shivering.” He covered my small hands with his much larger ones. I buried my head against his chest, and we stayed like that until my trembling subsided.
“Honey, I already told you, I can wait to have sex until after we get married.”
“Marriage?” I sputtered, surprised, and got up from his lap. “Are you joking? We’ve only known each other for like five minutes.”
Weston stared keenly at me, his gaze unapologetic. “Yes, marriage. I don’t know how you feel, but I know that for me, this is a special relationship. I’m not saying we should get married tomorrow, but I would like for you to be my wife.”
“Are you asking me to marry you?” I asked, trembling with emotion.
I looked at my outfit. My dress had slipped when Weston picked me up, exposing my bra, so I was half naked in a hotel room with a man I’d met a month ago. That was not exactly how I had imagined my marriage proposal.
Weston ran his hand through his hair and huffed in frustration. “Oh, my God, I didn’t want to propose to you like this. I ordered some flowers to be delivered on Sunday; I had this big event planned. I wanted it to be something special, romantic, but the cat is out of the bag now, I guess.” The corner of his sensual mouth lifted in a lazy half smile. He put his hand in his pants pocket and pulled out a blue velvet box. He opened it and showed me the magnificent blue diamond ring that sat inside. “Blue reminded me of your eyes, but if you don’t like blue diamonds, I can buy you whatever you like.”
I glared at him without being able to articulate any sound. My heart softened when I realized he was worried that I wouldn’t like the gorgeous ring.
Weston looked at me carefully, as if he half expected me to say no. “Say something, baby.”
What could I have answered? “Yes.”
He took me into his arms in a bear hug and then put me down and placed the ring on my finger. His lips lowered over mine in a wild and possessive kiss. “You’re mine now.”
Weston helped me take off my dress, and I stood in my bra and panties in front of him. Suddenly, I felt vulnerable, but he quickly pushed my fears aside.
“You’re so fucking sexy, baby,” he said and just stared at me for a minute.
He stripped off his coat without taking his eyes off me even for a moment. I was grateful that he didn’t undress because I wanted to be the one to take his shirt off. “You’re a goddess, baby,” he reassured me. “Don’t you dare believe anything else.”
He leaned down and kissed me again in that savage way I loved so much. His hand caressed my breast, and he squeezed my nipple possessively while I moaned with pleasure.
“Yes, baby, give it your all,” he encouraged me. The cold air engulfed me when he withdrew his hand from my breast, and I sighed, disappointed. “Don’t worry, baby, I’ll take care of you. I just want to take off my shirt, if that’s okay.”
I nodded and got up to help him. My hands trembled, and I could only unfasten one button, but Weston undid the rest. I put my hands on his chest and was surprised by the strength of his muscles.
His hands came down on my back, and he pulled me close to him, kissing my neck. His fingers unhooked my bra amid my groans of pleasure.
Weston unzipped his pants and with a growl of lust, he took me in his arms and placed me between the pillows, continuing to kiss me.
Words were meaningless, so I gave myself over the sensations I was feeling under Weston’s expert hands.
My muscles tensed a little when he removed the last linen that covered me.
“Sssh, baby, you’re so beautiful,” he moaned, and then he kissed me in my most intimate place, the sensation on my clit sending tremors of desire through my limbs.
It didn’t take long until I had my first orgasm. It was not the first orgasm of my life, but it was definitely the strongest.
I felt Weston remove his pants and then heard the sound of tearing plastic, what I assumed was a condom wrapper. It was silly of me not to have talked to him about safe sex before the actual sex part, but I was glad he was a gentleman.
Weston resumed stroking my clit with his finger, and I was amazed at how quickly he brought me back to the edge of orgasm. I writhed beneath his touch, wild with desire.
He wrapped my legs around his waist and entered me in one swift move. I felt a sharp pain. I yelled briefly, and Weston stopped. He kissed my lips and breasts, and his expert fingers caressed my clitoris. I whimpered, approaching orgasm again, but I wanted more. I still didn’t know what, but I started to move instinctively, and Weston met me halfway. The pain from the beginning was replaced by pleasure. I couldn’t think as he filled my body with his, the sensation so novel and intense I nearly passed out.
We both screamed as we reached orgasm. Now I understood why the world was so sex-obsessed. Weston twisted and pulled me over him so he wouldn’t crush me with his weight. I sighed with satisfaction and looked up at him.
“I can’t wait to do it again,” I said, and Weston laughed.
He took my hand and caressed the ring on my left hand. “I’m glad I proposed to you before we did this. I love you and want to marry you. I’m yours now.”
“I love you too,” I said. “And I’m yours too.” A smile of pure masculine pleasure spread across his face.
I was at peace, so I closed my eyes.
The sound of the phone woke me up, and the position I was in, nestled in Weston’s arms, shocked me. I was completely naked, his hand on my breast, and I felt his hard cock near my thigh. I tried to get up, but Weston pulled me back into bed.
“Don’t answer, please. I’m not ready to share you with the world. I want you to be mine only for a few more minutes. Besides, I haven’t finished with you yet.”
I laughed and reached for the phone on the bedside table. “God, not again. I won’t be able to walk for a week. OMG, it’s Dad. And I’m naked with you in bed too.” I panicked. “I can’t talk to him in this state.”
Weston laughed. “You know he can’t see you, so you can answer.” He pinched my ass.
A current of desire passed through me, and happiness filled me. I picked up the phone and answered. “Dad, what are you doing? Something happened?” I didn’t know why I had the impression something had happened.
“Sara, an accident happened last night. Josh is in the hospital. He had surgery and is in intensive care. I called to tell you that the wedding is off.”
“Oh, my God. Dad, I’m so sorry. How’s Daisy? Was she in the car?” I put my hand over my mouth to cover my gasps. I didn’t want to upset my dad even more.
Weston stopped caressing my breast and pulled me into his arms. “What happened, baby?” he asked softly. I motioned for him to be quiet and pointed to the phone.
“Daisy is fine, honey. She had a contusion and was checked up by the doctors, but Josh is in a coma,” he said, and his voice broke. “I got to go. I love you.”
“I love you too, Dad.”
The next few days passed quickly between hospital visits and time spent with Weston. Throughout that week, Weston was my rock. He even hired a food delivery service to deliver food to my dad’s house. He really is a fantastic person, very laid back, with a great sense of humor. Thankfully, Josh woke up, and I was so happy for my sister. I didn’t know if my presence was upsetting her or not, so I felt it would be best for everyone if we left soon.
We departed for New York a few days after. I felt bad for my ex and wished him the best, but Weston was my future. When we said our goodbyes, my sister gave me a real hug, so maybe there was hope we could repair our relationship.
EPILOGUE
WESTON
Two years later
I reached into the crib and brushed my son’s cheek with the back of my hand. It had only been a few months since the twins were born, but delicate blond hairs had already started growing from the tops of their heads. I smiled as James blew a bubble and rolled over onto his side. His little fist whacked Michael in the head.
Michael wrinkled his nose as if he smelled something unpleasant. I chuckled and reached up, turning on the toy hanging above the crib. The boys cooed and made sounds of delight as the toy started singing. I backed away from the crib.
“They’re such good babies,” I murmured to myself.
I stepped over to one of the armchairs inside the nursery. The door opened, and Sara stepped inside. She wore a loose pair of pajamas, and the smell of he
r vanilla shower gel rolled off of her. Maternity had accentuated her curves, and she looked more beautiful than ever.
She came in and settled in on the edge of the armchair. “That felt like my first real shower in weeks. I think James has kept me covered in puke over these last few days.”
I grinned. “I haven’t noticed. I’m just happy to see my gorgeous wife and beautiful kids when I get home.” I leaned into her, and she pressed her weight into me. The babies gurgled to the right of us, and Sara laughed.
She eased off the edge of the armchair. “I want to look at them again, just to make sure they’re real.”
I laughed as she hovered over the edge of the crib. She stared into the boys’ faces and watched as they flailed their arms about. I took a deep breath and reached into my back pocket.
I leaned in towards the babies. “You will sleep really well tonight, boys. I’ve got good news.”
“What’s the good news?” Sara asked.
I opened the ring box I took out of my pocket, and I held up a sleek diamond ring for Sara to see. I kept my eyes on the babies. “I’m going ask your Mommy to marry me!”
Sara gasped and swatted my arm. “What?! We’re already married, silly! And I already have a ring.”
I smirked and held the ring up so my boys could see it. “You’ll just have to wear it on your other hand, so everyone knows you are very married to me. Will you stay married to me, Sara Angel Young? I love you.”
Sara looked back and forth between the babies and me, then plucked the ring out of my hands. She slipped it onto her finger. “Yes, of course, I will! I love you.”
The babies stirred, and Sara giggled. She wrapped her arms around me and whispered, “I’m already married to you, but I’ll marry you again and again if that’s what you want.”
I leaned back and tenderly kissed her lips. “Good.” I kissed her again and again. “Because I am planning on doing this for the rest of my life. I have a lifetime to make up for that botched first marriage proposal.”
