David sat up again, slightly worried. “Is there something you know that I don’t?”
“Sure is. I wanted you to have a little break before I told you but you’ve kind of forced my hand on that one. You remember Mandy, Mandy Haddock.”
“Of course I do. Go on.”
“Well, Mandy went back on the set and made all sorts of demands. From what I’ve heard she’s a different person. The upshot is that the producers faced a near riot from all the other actors. It’s all got very messy, complicated and just so stressful for them all.”
“And what has this got to do with us?”
“In four days the whole cast – well just the core cast of six and one of the producers – are all turning up for some good old-fashioned group therapy as a sort of make or break weekend. We’ve been highly recommended. And there’s premium money on offer for a kind of exclusive zone just for them. Gootsy will have a field day with that lot, bless him. Let’s hope we have no mishaps with this lot.”
David let out a deep sigh and took a gulp of beer. “I think we’ll be all right.” David took another look at JC and Metti who were holding hands and walking along the beach towards them. “All we need is some serene equilibrium, and I think I see that right in front of me.”
