Ken kept trying to work with Jeff as he fully believed that Jeff would be a good employee if he could just get him to keep himself clean and dress appropriately.
Unfortunately, Jeff would never straighten himself up and Ken, realizing that Jeff was not going to change, terminated his employment with Sunshine Subs the end of September.
Eventually, Jeff's financial situation became so bad, he was forced to call his dad for help. Jeff's grandmother sent Jeff an airplane ticket on PanAm Airlines from Miami Beach to Cleveland, Ohio.
Jeff would later recall the only reason he returned home was due to lack of money.
He departed Florida around the end of September 1981.
There is some speculation that Jeff may be the person who abducted and killed Adam Walsh, although Jeff adamantly denied it.

CHRISTOPHER STEWART INTERVIEW
The following information was provided to me from Christopher Stewart who states he was in the Hollywood Mall during the time Jeff Dahmer was living in Florida:
You were in the Hollywood Mall in Florida and saw Jeffrey Dahmer there?
I had no idea Jeffrey Dahmer lived in South Florida until 2017. I moved to Hollywood in 1981 with my Mom and two sisters. We lived there for just over a year (1981-1983), and I haven’t been back to the area since. I learned that Dahmer was there, while accidentally coming across an interview online of others talking about their encounter with him.
What do you remember from that day?
I remember entering the Sears, we shopped in the mall, and she bought me a new pair of shoes. It was a fun time. We also went for lunch in a nearby restaurant on that day. I’ve learned that the Hollywood Mall, as well as much of what was around there in terms of restaurants no longer exist. This restaurant was small. It had a Mom and Pop feel to it. With a fairly large parking lot. It was part of a strip mall near the Hollywood Sears. My Mom and I had finished our lunch. It was then that I went to the restroom. While returning to the table, I’d noticed a pay hone directly in front of the restrooms when I came out, which were located in a small hallway (out of clear site). I told my Mom I was going to call my Grandparents on the pay phone. So that’s what I did. I returned back down the small hallway toward the restrooms to make the call. I remember the conversation being extremely engaging. Engaging to a point of experiencing my surroundings only subtly. I was lost in conversation. Looking back, I know time was un-seemingly passing quickly at the time. My Grandparents were special to me, and I missed them. So I was hardly paying attention to the environment around me.
What happened next?
At some point during the phone call, I began to feel a great deal of uneasiness come over me. I’d faced the phone a few times; I remember, which positioned my back toward the bathrooms. I’d turn myself toward the phone, toward the bathroom, and then back toward the phone again. My internal sense began to feel someone behind me. But it wasn’t fully registering with my brain yet. I remember. There was someone scurrying back-and-forth behind me. I could feel the restroom door swing open and closed behind me. Continuing with the conversation with my Grandparents. Not realizing I was being stalked yet. It was at that moment that the restroom door opened slowly. The guy had his head down, as if he were trying to regain his composure, and then looked right up at me. Into my eyes.
Do you remember what you were feeling then?
My whole nervous system went into shock. Because I’d seen the guy walk by me much earlier in the phone conversation. Much earlier!
What did he look like?
To me, he’d looked like a harmless misfit who was just down on his luck. His head was down a bit, toward the floor. I can remember thinking to myself. He just looks like an out-of-place weird guy, and then thinking nothing more about it as he passed in front of me and walked into the restroom. The same restroom I’d used twenty or so minutes earlier. Everything that transpired while on the phone, rushed through my mind. I was processing everything within seconds. He’s been sizing me up! He’s walked by me multiple times since initially entering the restroom. The man’s clothes were like nothing I’d ever seen in my eleven years of life. To me, they were something you might wear to church in 1975, only wrinkly and unwashed. He wore black polyester slacks, with a white button-up dress shirt. It had a collar and maroon colored seventies stripes and other weird designs. He wore framed glasses that were a light in color. His skin looked a bit weathered from the sun, he was unshaven, his hair was light-brown and to the collar, and parted on the side. He was clearly unbathed.
When did you realize that that person you saw in the mall that day was Jeff Dahmer?
I didn’t realize I had for thirty-five years.
WILLIS MORGAN INTERVIEW
In an interview with Willis Morgan (Author of Frustrated Witness), who states he was in the Hollywood Mall the day Adam Walsh was abducted and personally saw Jeff. I was told this information:
You were at the Hollywood Mall the day Adam Walsh was abducted and saw someone there whom you believe is responsible for Adam's abduction. Who did you see?
When I heard on TV the evening of July 27, 1981 about an abduction of a small boy at the Hollywood Mall, I knew immediately it had to be the young man that I had an encounter with in the Hollywood Mall RadioShack, on the same day and time that the boy was abducted from. Plus the encounter was so bizarre that I watched the young man walk into the Sears toy department before turning around and going home.
Did Jeff speak to you?
In 1981 I did not know the name of the young man that approached me and tried to initiate conversation with me by saying, “Hi, there. Nice day, isn’t it?”
Of course, that day no one was familiar with the name Jeffrey Dahmer. At what point did you look back and realize that it was, indeed, Jeff?
Wednesday, July 24, 1991 was my first day back to work for the week. I was in the pressroom office, and the papers started coming in for paper check. We had papers from six presses lined up on a long counter. We started going through the papers together. When I turned a page somewhere in the “A” section, I stopped. I saw a small mugshot of someone arrested two days previously and got an immediate flashback. I started freaking out. “This is him! This is the guy I saw in the mall!” (Page 95. “Frustrated Witness”)
You have written a book entitled Frustrated Witness. What is the single most important thing you want that book to tell people?
It is my fervent wish that Frustrated Witness finally puts to rest any doubt that it was indeed JEFFREY DAHMER who abducted and murdered little Adam Walsh, and not OTTIS TOOLE.
Willis, if you will, take a minute and tell the readers, briefly, what evidence you have that leads you to believe Jeff abducted Adam that fateful day at the Hollywood Mall.
I am not just the author of Frustrated Witness! I am also one of the many witnesses who were at the mall on the day Adam was abducted and all of the witnesses say that it was Dahmer. Plus composites and descriptions from four other attempted abductions implicate Dahmer according to the witnesses and police chiefs in those locations. They also eliminate Ottis Toole as a suspect since he wasn’t even in the state of Florida at the time.
Is that the only encounter you had with Jeff at the mall?
The encounter in RadioShack was the one and only time that I saw Jeffrey Dahmer on July 27, 1981.
[NOTE: Sunshine Subs also had a sister shop, Mr. Pizza, and the two stores shared a blue delivery van, theory is that Jeff may have taken the blue van without permission and used it to go to the Hollywood Mall on the day Adam Walsh was abducted. According to reports, Adam Walsh was abducted in a blue van.]
Although Jeff was forced to leave Florida because of finances, he would always want to return to life here.
Jeff stayed in Bath, Ohio, for two months after his return and seemed to be in fairly good spirits. Lionel noticed that his son was in better shape and even helped Lionel cut wood for their fireplace. Lionel was encouraged at what he saw.
While in
Bath, he was arrested on October 7, 1981, at the Ramada Inn and charged with disorderly conduct, having an open container of alcohol, and resisting arrest after he refused the police request for him to leave and go home.
RETURN HOME
“My consuming lust was to experience their bodies.”
Jeff Dahmer
Jeff moved into the basement of his grandmother's (Catherine Dahmer, former school teacher, whom he loved deeply) home at 2357 South 57th Street in Milwaukee in 1981. After the move, Jeff kept in contact with his dad and step-mom and they would talk frequently on the telephone, but his problems with alcohol followed and, while attending the 1982 Wisconsin State Fair on August 7th, he was arrested for public intoxication and disorderly conduct.
In 1982 Jeff was briefly employed by the Milwaukee Blood Plasma Center and during his employment there, Jeff took home some of the donated blood and drank it but only did it once. Jeff held his job at the plasma center for ten months before being laid off.
It was also during the period, January 23, 1982, he purchased a snub-nose .357 Magnum Colt Lawman revolver (Serial Number 2030IU) from Don Stricker Guns at 2465 South 84th Street in Milwaukee for $350. Jeff did not have the gun very long after his grandmother supposedly discovered he had it. The gun was taken from Jeff by Lionel after his grandmother told Lionel that Jeff possessed the revolver.
While living at his grandmother's home, he would frequently see his Aunt Eunice with whom he had a fairly good relationship, mostly. Jeff believed that it was his aunt, not his grandmother, that ratted him out about his gun to his dad.
In 1983 Jeff was in the West Allis Library when a male walked by him and dropped a note in his lap and continued walking. The note said that if he wanted a blow job to come to the second floor bathroom. Fighting his homosexual urges, he thought to himself, “It's going to take more than this to make me stumble.”
In January of 1985 Jeff was hired as a mixer for the Ambrosia Chocolate Factory and worked six days a week (Sunday through Friday), 11:00 pm until 7:00 am earning $9.00 per hour. Jeff was issued a yellow-colored locker 214 at work for his personal belongings.
Jeff began attending church while he was living with his grandmother. By doing so, Jeff was hoping that would cause his urges to cease. Unfortunately, that did not help and the feelings of needing to have someone with him increased greatly. Jeff had increasing fantasies and urges for things he called “the dark side” and eventually quit going to church with his grandmother and began an interest in the occult since religion wasn't working for him. After a short period of time, Jeff also gave up on the occult.
At one point, Jeff stole a mannequin from a department store and took it to his grandmother's. Jeff used the mannequin as a replacement for a

real person, hoping that the mannequin would suffice his urges. His grandmother found the mannequin and he tossed it in the trash a short time thereafter.
Jeff's urges for companionship as well as sex continued to increase and by the end of 1985, Jeff was visiting the various bath houses and had several sexual encounters with some of the other men who would also visit. Angered by the fact that his sexual partners would “move” during sex, Jeff's solution was to drug his partners so they would not move during his sex with them.
It didn't take long and the bathhouses learned of his drugging activity and revoked his memberships.
As a way to continue his sexual predation, Jeff decided he would try his hand at having sex with those who were recently buried. In a newspaper he read of a funeral of an eighteen year old boy. His plan was to locate the grave, dig the male up, and then take the body home with him. Jeff did locate the grave and, in his attempt to dig up the body, discovered that the soil was too compacted and was hard to dig. Being unsuccessful, he went home without the body.
During September of that year, Jeff found himself in trouble and arrested for standing on the edge of the Kinnickinnic River and masturbating in front of two twelve-year-old boys. The charges of Lewd and Lascivious Behavior were dropped in place of a lesser charge of Disorderly Conduct and one year on probation.
Tuomi...
Apparently, the legal problems Jeff had with law enforcement and the courts did nothing to squash his desires. It was a cold night, temperatures holding all day in the upper 30s, on Friday, November 27, 1987, when Jeff met a white male named Steven Tuomi (DOB 12/19/1962 [police report]) who was from Ontonagon, Michigan, at the bus stop outside Club 219 on South Second Street. Steve was a white male, approximately 5'10” tall, and weighed approximately 160 pounds and had blonde hair parted down the middle. Jeff and Steve chatted for a while and decided to leave seeking more comfortable accommodations and went to the Ambassador Hotel. [Jeff had rented a room at the Ambassador Hotel several times previously hoping to meet someone for sex, but it never happened.] The Ambassador was an older hotel, typical of the art deco period. Once at the hotel, they went up to their room and began drinking. Not much is known about how it all transpired as Jeff's claims he does not remember, but the end result was that Jeff woke and found Steven dead in their bed. [Jeff later recounted that he had no intention of killing Tuomi and just intended to drug and rape him.] Not even sure if they had sex or not, Jeff discovered the victim beaten severely and strangled with traces of blood oozing from both corners of the victim's mouth. Jeff also discovered that his own arms and hands were badly bruised.
Realizing that he must clean up the mess and dispose of the body, Jeff rented the room for an additional night and then went to the Woolworth's department store at the Grand Mall on West Wisconsin Avenue where he had lunch, a few beers, and then purchased a large suitcase (three feet by three feet by one foot with wheels, zipper, and a leather strap with a buckle around the suitcase) and returned to the hotel around 5:00 pm. He stuffed the victim - it was a tight fit - into the suitcase and, around 1:00 am, called for a taxi to pick him up at the hotel. Upon arrival of the taxi, Jeff obtained the assistance of the taxi driver to help him load the suitcase into the taxi. Leaving the Ambassador Hotel, they headed to Jeff's grandmother's home with the suitcase.
Jeff placed the victim, still in the suitcase, in the cellar where it stayed for about a week. He wasn't worried about the body decomposing too much as it was cold outside.
Jeff took the body close to a floor drain in the basement and dismembered Tuomi and then began to cut off the muscle from the bones and placing the muscles and issue into trash bags. Once finished with cutting off of the muscles, Jeff placed the bones between a sheet and began to smash the bones into smaller parts with a sledgehammer. Once the process was over, Jeff destroyed the suitcase and, with the body parts, took it all to the trash for pick up. Jeff retained the victim's head and intended to keep it. Having kept Tuomi's head wrapped in a blanked for a couple of weeks afterward, Jeff then boiled the victim's head in bleach and Soilex to attempt to remove any remnants of tissue and to attempt to whiten the skull. Jeff ended up breaking the skull in small pieces and discarding it. [Police report number 91-57463, Date 08/11/1991, 1135 hours. Homicide Number M2491.]
Doxtator...
In January of 1988, Jeff met a fourteen year old boy whom he believed to be a Hispanic male but was actually Native American, waiting at a bus stop in front of the Phoenix Club around 1:00 am. Jeff approached the boy and offered him $50.00 if he would come with him have a few drinks, pose nude, and watch some videos. The boy, James Doxtator (DOB: 03/01/1973) who was living on Pierce Street in Milwaukee, agreed and he and Jeff went to Jeff's apartment at his grandmother's home by bus and, due to the bus being crowded, the two had to sit in separate seats. Upon arrival, the two had “light” sex in the front room at which time Jeff suggested they move to the basement. In the basement, Jeff and James kissed and mutually masturbated each other.
When James mentioned that he would have to be home soon, Jeff gave James a drink
of Irish Cream laced with sleeping pills. [When anticipating the use of sleeping pills on his victims, Jeff would crush several pills into a powder and have it ready to mix when he returned with his intended victim. He used coffee, run, or a cola or a mixture of these.] When James fell asleep, Jeff grabbed an old bed sheet he had and spread it on the basement floor [Interesting Note: The reason Jeff placed a sheet on the basement floor was because it was “cold.” Even though he knew he was going to kill the boy, he did not want him to be cold lying on the floor]. Jeff then picked up James and placed him on the sheet and strangled him with his hands. Once deceased, Jeff crawled on top of him and kissed and hugged the victim. Jeff then took James, wrapped him in the sheet and placed him in the cellar around 7:00 am. Shortly after, his grandmother woke and Jeff went upstairs to have breakfast with her. Once she left for church, Jeff went back downstairs and disposed of the body. He disposed of the body parts, keeping the skull, but changed his mind and crushed it into tiny pieces and disposed of it as well.
Guerrero...
It was Thursday, March 24, 1988, in Milwaukee, a brisk wind was blowing giving the feeling that the upper 30s temperature was much cooler, when Jeff met Richard Guerrero (DOB: 12/12/1965) (5'8” in height and weighing about 130 pounds, light brown complexion, straight short black hair, clean shaven, and smooth skin, wearing a knee-length brown vinyl coat) living on North First Street in Milwaukee, at The Phoenix Bar. The Phoenix Bar was just a short distance from the 219 Club, both on Second Street. Jeff invited Richard to come with him to watch videos, make photos, and have sex. He and Jeff went to Jeff's basement apartment at his grandmother's home. After having oral sex, Jeff gave him a drink with sleeping pills to knock him out. After the victim was unresponsive, Jeff murdered him by strangulation with a leather strap. As soon as the victim was deceased, Jeff then had oral sex with him. He then dismembered the body soon after and disposed of it without keeping any part of it. [The victim was reported missing by his father on March 29, 1988, and advertisements were placed in area newspapers with the victim's photo announcing that he was missing. Jeff later stated that he saw one of these advertisements.]
