It appears that the driver of the car took desperate steps to stop the one who eventually killed him. Despite his faults and at times his desire to make a quick buck illegally, in my estimation Jack Smaltz was one of many unsung heroes doing what they can to stand against this world's present madness."

  "A thinly disguised memoir passed off as fiction?" or words to that effect have described many author's first novels. That is because we have to write that which we know. As you may have guessed, I experienced some of the events in this novella firsthand. The rest are figments of my imagination.

  I hoped to convey how my generation, the Baby Boomers, sandwiched in between what has been called The Greatest Generation and Generations X and Y, and Millenials have been somewhat overshadowed by the ones who came before and after us. This short book is tribute to my parents and my children, who have inspired me to keep on keeping on.
