"Because of the urgency of the situation, I suggest we ditch one of the carriages and attempt to reach the dark continent as quickly as possible," Caesar said seriously.
"Will there be enough room?" Renee asked curiously.
"Two people will sit in the front while two in the back, we will take my carriage," Caesar said after thinking for a second.
"Where will we put all of our clothes or food?" Joe asked with uncertainty
"Grab your favorite three pairs of clothes, and I will put them in my storage ring, as for the food, we can hunt at night," Caesar explained calmly.
Edward suddenly stepped forward "I agree with you, but, what is the rush?"
"According to what both of you told me, your clan is in dire straits… the quicker we get there, the better, I also don't want to leave my business without a leader for too long" Caesar didn't beat around the bush and told them exactly why.
All of them nodded their heads in understanding, "I also think that it's better to get there fast… I want to see my grandfather again," Renee said quietly.
"Alright, alright, I agree… but I want some coin to spend at this inn," Joe said with a wide grin causing the rest to just shake their heads with a wry smile.
Caesar handed Joe some coins, "go ahead and drink to your heart's content; you earned it," Caesar said playfully.
Joe took the coins and darted out of the room as quickly as he could, Edward left shortly after leaving Caesar and Renee alone in the bedroom.
Caesar walked over to the candles by the bed and blew them out, "come, we need to get some rest… we have a big day tomorrow," he called out towards Renee as he undressed into his undergarments and got into bed.
Renee nodded her head and also got in bed, soon only the sounds of their snoring and rhythmically heavy breathing echoed inside the room.
That night, Caesar had another dream...
CHAPTER TWENTY-EIGHT
A familiar sight entered into Caesar's eyes. He was standing on a square platform. In front of him were four separate paths that lead through the endless darkness.
Caesar squinted his eyes slightly, "what is the trigger that causes this dream?" he whispered out loud.
Caesar stepped forward and approached the four roads, they each had a different color… from left to right, they were red, black, white, and grey, respectively.
Caesar stroked his chin in contemplation, "were these in the same order as last time?" he thought to himself slightly intrigued.
The plaques that were in front of each path when Caesar last had this dream were gone, only the roads were left.
Suddenly a wretched voice entered into Caesar's ears, "the road you pick will mold you into what it represents."
Caesar looked over his shoulder to see who or what was talking, contrary to his expectations, all he could see was the endless darkness behind him.
"Haha, we don't exist… you can't see us," that same wretched voice exclaimed from the darkness.
"Tsk"
Caesar clicked his tongue in displeasure and shifted his attention back towards the four paths, "If my guess is correct, these four paths represent the four vampire progenitors" he voiced his thoughts audibly, hoping for a reaction from the 'ghost.'
Unfortunately, the 'ghost' had stopped talking and didn't give Caesar any clues… Caesar's lips curled, and he walked forward.
He did not walk towards the four paths that lead through the darkness, but through the void itself.
"I refuse to walk the same path that those before me have already treaded, I will forge my own path," Caesar said in an overbearing tone.
He slowly walked towards the darkness without hesitation. His steps did not stutter, but instead, they carried unrivaled resolution and steadiness.
Caesar soon reached the edge of the platform he was standing on. He took one more step forward and entered the unfathomable darkness.
He closed his eyes and marched onward, "humans innately fear the unknown. However, I want to explore it," he said quietly.
"Hehe, a path that has not been walked before… interesting, I wonder, will you be the one to help destroy the world or save it?" the wretched voice laughed loudly.
Caesar paid close attention to the voice of the 'ghost,' he wanted to find more clues about what the purpose of this dream was.
Inside the darkness, Caesar just kept walking straight… Nothing stopped him, and he just silently kept moving forward.
15 minutes… 30 minutes… 60 minutes…
Caesar walked for an indistinct amount of time, he had contemplated just stopping many times, but he wanted to see what was at the end… if there was an end.
"How entertaining, the first progenitor had the ultimate magic, the second had the ultimate body, the third had the ultimate mind, and the fourth had the ultimate speed" The wretched voice entered into Caesar's ears once again.
"Perhaps, you who treads through the unknown will have the ultimate eye… HAHAHA," loud laughter resounded, shaking the area.
Caesar furrowed his brows, "perhaps my previous selection of blood demon had influenced my decision of walking through the darkness?" Caesar couldn't help but wonder.
Caesar felt as though the ground below him was shaking, the sky above him was cracking, and the darkness was slowly disappearing.
"HAHAHA, YOU HAVE CHOSEN YOUR PATH… I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE WHAT YOU BECOME," the wretched voice practically screamed, and Caesar felt as though he fell through the ground.

"Hey, wake up!" A sweet and familiar feminine voice invaded Caesar's ears.
Caesar 's eyelids twitched in irritation, he slowly lifted his upper body and massaged his forehead with the palm of his hands.
He slowly opened his eyes, and a worried Renee was staring straight at him.
"Are you okay? You were sweating heavily in your sleep," she asked in a concerned tone.
Caesar pulled his bangs of hair covering his face back and flashed a smile towards Renee, "I'm fine, thank you for worrying about me," Caesar said soothingly.
Caesar looked at her unconvinced expression and chuckled softly, "it was merely a nightmare, nothing is wrong with me."
"Mmhmm" Renee hummed in doubt and got off the bed, "Joe and Edward have already left to purchase supplies, you slept through morning… It is already noon," She said mockingly as if to call Caesar out on his lie.
Caesar got out of bed and took out a black suit from his spatial ring, "I am not lying, it was a long nightmare," Caesar said with a wry smile plastered on his face.
Renee still had some traces of doubt in her eyes, but she always believed Caesar, "I don't think you're telling me the full story, but I'll let you slide this time around."
Caesar finished dressing in his black suit and put on a pair of white gloves, he grabbed a brush and sat down in front of the mirror. He washed himself for a few minutes and styled his hair.
Renee waiting by his side looking at him with a sly grin, "the men in my clan look down on other men that groom themselves so finely... You're going to be looked down upon when we arrive at my home, haha" she laughed gleefully.
Caesar sat the brush on the table and stood up from his chair, his height towered over Renee as he grabbed her gently and brought her into his embrace.
"Men who do not groom themselves are inconsiderate to their partner. Personally, I detest dirty things," Caesar whispered into her ear.
"It's good that I pride myself in keeping clean then, I also dislike dirty things," Renee replied with a sly smirk.
Caesar loosened his grip on Renee and lifted her chin with his index finger, he looked into her eyes deeply and pecked her on the lips.
"Since both Edward and Joe are out getting the supplies, how about we go on a date to somewhere nice?" he asked curiously.
"A date?" Renee tilted her head in bewilderment.
"Haha, it's basically when two lovers go out somewhere alone and do activities together" Caesar laug
hed softly and explained calmly.
Renee nodded her head in understanding, "I see, do you have an idea of where we should go then?" she asked, the excitement was clearly discernible in her voice.
Caesar hooked arms with her and headed towards the door, "let's see if there are any good restaurants in this town."
Renee nodded her head with a smile on her face.
They stepped out of their room and walked through the long hallway, they went down the small set of stairs and entered into the bar area of the inn.
The inn was quiet compared to last night, very few people were drinking at this time. Caesar and Renee didn't stay very long, and they walked straight out of the Inn,
The glaring sun shone down upon them as they walked out of the door, the breeze kicked up both Renee and Caesar's hair, making their long hair flutter in the wind beautifully.
They walked down the busy streets and caught the attention of the townsfolk. Renee's beauty and Caesar's elegance were unmatched.
Renee was becoming slightly embarrassed with all of the attention they were getting. Caesar, of course, was used to this and didn't pay it much heed.
They soon passed by a fancy looking building; they could hear the sounds of instruments playing from the streets.
Intrigued, Caesar took, and Renee walked towards the entrance of the building and opened the door.
Inside were many fancy looking green tables. Each table was in a secluded area, and a delicious scent assaulted both Renee and Caesar's nose.
A middle-aged man in a suit quickly walked over and greeted the both of them, "Hello, welcome to the Fire Lilly… would you like a table for two?" the man asked exceptionally respectfully.
Caesar nodded his head. The waiter immediately led them upstairs and went into the fanciest room the restaurant had… he took out two pieces of paper from his breast pocket and handed them to Caesar.
"This is the menu. I will be right back with your refreshments" The waiter bowed deeply and left.
Caesar sat down on one side of the table, and Renee sat opposite of him, she was looking at everything with curiosity reflected in her eyes.
"Wow, I have never been to a restaurant before," She said with a happy smile on her face.
"Get used to it, I will take you to many more," Caesar said to which Renee nodded her head in gratification.
The waiter soon came back with two cups of water and handed them to both Renee and Caesar.
"What would the both of you like to eat?" The waiter asked curiously and looked at Caesar first.
"Hmm, I will take the medium-rare flame bear steak," Caesar answered.
"I will take the uhm… royal fish fillet," Renee answered after thinking for a few seconds.
The waiter nodded his head and took both of the menus back, "your food will arrive shortly, please be patient."
"Thank you," Caesar thanked the waiter gracefully and took a sip out of his water.
Once the waiter left Caesar and Renee entertained themselves with small talk, Renee took a large gulp of her water and looked deeply at Caesar.
"Your eyes a bit different!" she pointed out with astonishment.
Caesar raised his right hand and touched his eye, "my eyes?" he asked suspiciously.
"I didn't notice it earlier, but they have a barely discernible pattern inside of them," Renee said with surprise.
"Interesting…was that ghost not lying?" Caesar whispered under his breath.
"What did you say?" Renee tilted her head and asked.
"Nothing important, I was just talking to myself," Caesar replied with a smile.
Soon the waited entered into their room and interrupted their conversation, he placed a place of delicious-looking steak in front of Caesar and a plate with a refined-looking fish in front of Renee.
"Please enjoy, let me know if you need anything else" The waiter bowed once again and left their table.
The food made Renee forget about Caesar's eyes, and she started digging in, Caesar cut his piece of steak slowly and took a bite.
"It's delicious" Caesar couldn't help but open his eyes wide and compliment the food.
Renee nodded her head enthusiastically and chowed down her food even faster than before.
They finished their food, and Renee patted her belly in satisfaction, both of their plates were licked clean.
As if the waiter knew they were finished with their food, he walked in and bowed deeply, "the entire meal costs fifty silver coins."
Caesar stood up from his chair and nodded his head, according to his knowledge… One hundred bronze coins were equal to one silver coin, and one hundred silver coins were equivalent to one gold coin.
Caesar had already prepared an appropriate amount of funds for the trip, so he put his hand in his pocket and took out a gold coin from his storage ring.
He handed the gold coin to the butler with a smile on his face, "keep the tip."
"T-thank you so much!" The butler smiled widely and thanked both Renee and Caesar repeatedly.
"Excellent service, you deserve it," Caesar said and walked past the still excited butler.
They both walked out of the restaurant with satisfied smiled on their faces, "that was a delightful experience… but I feel like I am forgetting something." Renee looked at Caesar with an inquiring gaze.
Caesar averted his eyes and chuckled softly, "Joe and Edward are probably waiting for us at the carriage; let's move quickly so that we can continue our journey."
"Okay," Renee agreed, and they both walked back to the Inn with long strides.
CHAPTER TWENTY-NINE
Caesar and Renee walked through the now desolate streets back to their carriages. The sun was gradually going down, and the town was enveloped in darkness.
They walked for about five more minutes before, finally, the sight of Joe and Edward standing in front of the Inn doors appeared in their line of sight.
Once both Joe and Edward caught sight of Caesar, their anxious expressions disappeared and were instead replaced by relief.
"What took Y'all so long," Joe hollered and marched towards Caesar.
"We were looking around town, and while we were dawdling about, we decided to get something to eat," Caesar replied honestly.
"Hmm, well, let's get a move on…" Joe said with a slightly annoyed tone.
Caesar nodded his head and walked towards the carriage. Edward had already gotten the horses out of the stable and prepared the reigns.
Caesar stepped on the carriage and put his right hand out to help lift Renee. She seized his hand, and they both got inside the carriage.
Joe followed soon after and sat opposite of both Renee and Caesar. Seeing this, Caesar couldn't help but let out a soft chuckle and turn towards Renee with a sly grin.
"I guess we won't have another chance to 'spar' for a while," Caesar said with a hint of laughter still apparent in his voice.
Renee rolled her eyes and glared at him slightly. Joe looked towards the both of them, confused, "why would you want to spar this monster?" he asked toward Renee.
"Sometimes, the bigger the monster you 'spar', the more satisfied you are after the fight, haha" Caesar laughed playfully and explained to Joe.
Joe stroked his chin in thought, "I guess that does make some sense," Joe said after being stuck in thought for a few seconds.
Renee punched Caesar on the shoulder, but the laughter hidden in her eyes didn't fool anyone, Caesar stopped teasing Joe and crossed his legs.
"What did you do with the other carriage?" Caesar changed the subject and asked curiously.
"We sold it to that Inn owner. We just gave her the stuff that was inside of it as well, haha" Joe scratched his head and laughed innocently.
"How much money did she give you for it?" Caesar asked a different question with a slight frown on his face.
"Err, about ten silver coins," Joe answered honestly with a foolish grin on his face.
A vein popped out on Caesar's forehead, "just the clothes inside that carr
iage cost more than ten silver coins," Caesar said quietly.
"Hehe, she is a beauty, though… She needs a discount, right?" Joe said and turned his head to show off his left cheek.
A kiss mark was discernible on his cheek. Another vein popped out on Caesar's forehead as he looked down at Joe as if he were an insect.
"Each horse costs at the very least one gold coin… there were six of them, that carriage itself would cost around five gold coins, and you sold all of it for ten silvers?" Caesar's killing intent was permeating out from his body.
