“I'm proud of us!” I whisper in his ear.
“I'm proud of us too baby!” Ray replied before adding, “I've never performed in a crowd as much as this before. It's just iconic.”
I can see that he's nervous in a way. Holding him close to me, I cooed, “go out there and have fun.”
Ray is scheduled to perform last. I can hear the crowd go wild as he's introduced to come on stage.
“Angie, I love you!” He kisses me passionately and runs off to the stage.
I know that the people of LA love Ray so much, but tonight they cheer him like a demigod. With the way the people are chanting his name, it seems like the night shouldn't end. But then, everything that has a beginning must have an end, except my love for Ray. I didn't see it ending soon or ever.
Ray ends his song and Mr. Price comes on stage to give a closing remark. Unlike most concerts, even when the artists and comedians have finished, no one left. They were so charmed by the magnificent nature of the concert.
“I don't have much to say,” Mr. Price exclaimed in excitement while waiting for the crowd to listen. The crowd is entirely hyperactive as a result of how amazing the night turned out to be.
“Like I said, I don't have much to say. I just want to thank the good people of LA for coming out tonight.” Mr. Price pauses as the crowd goes into another frenzy moment. “By the way, this night is like this because of two stars that decided to shine so bright in organizing this event, and they certainly brought us their brightness tonight. I want you all to give it up for Ray and Angela,” Mr. Price screams at the top of his voice.
Honestly, I don't know if the loud cheering is for Ray—he’s the popular one between the two of us, but then, turning to where the Getaway executives sat, I can see Mr. Leon clapping his hands happily and he immediately gives me a thumbs-up as I look toward his direction. The whole feeling is amazing. I couldn't hold back the tears anymore. They came rolling down to my chin as Ray hugs me tightly.
Yes, I'm happy I could pull out something this great. It may not come with any reward from the company, but then, Ray is the best reward I could have ever asked for. Well, these past days happened to be the best days of my life. I just realized that stars shine differently. Even as a secretary, I ended up shining in my own way!
