“Here you go, Your Highness.” The healer wrapped the infant in a blanket, then handed the bundle to Allyssa.

Allyssa took the baby, staring at her beautiful, perfect face. “She has your nose,” she said to Kerdan.

“And she has your eyes,” he replied, reaching out and stroking the side of the infant’s face. “She’s going to be one fierce little thing.”

“Of that I have no doubt.”

  THE END

Writing a book is an enormous undertaking. I am blessed to have a wonderful husband and three kids who know and understand my obsession with reading and writing. Thank you for allowing me to do something I’m passionate about and encouraging me every step of the way.

I’d also like to thank Leah, Allyssa, Jan, Stacie, Hannah, and Carol for reading through this book and providing feedback. I couldn’t have written this one without your valuable input.

I want to thank Sarah for our writing meetings. When I came to the point in my novel where things weren’t coming together, you reminded me that everyone needs to have a motivation for what they do. When you said that, everything clicked together and the story solidified. I can’t thank you enough!

I also want to thank Cynthia for editing this one. The story was a beast to tackle and you did an amazing job polishing it for me. Thank you!

Last, but not least, I need to thank all of my readers. When I first started out as a writer, I had no idea my stories would touch other people’s lives. To receive your fan mail and messages saying how much you love my stories truly warms my heart and keeps me going. Thank you!
