He then looked out to the southeast and saw the smoldering Alban Mountains. Knowing that this was his final destination, he just looked up at the sky waiting for the drop to happen. Paul could smell the sulfur of the crater below them, the intense heat burning his and Caleb’s skin and clothes. As the two dropped into the waiting crater, Paul saw the face of his old friend Bert looking down at him, a tear coming from his eye, sad for the fate of his only true friend growing up. His clothes burned off and his skin black from the intense heat, Paul’s black eyes closed as he and Caleb passed the mouth of the crater, into the waiting lava below.

  Epilogue

A fter Paul and Caleb were thrown into the volcano in the Alban Mountains, the rider, also known as Jesus Christ, established his kingdom on earth for a thousand years. Satan, who entered Paul when he was brain-dead, was bound for a thousand years in a place called the Abyss. Believers, both dead and alive, lived with Jesus Christ in his kingdom. This aligns to the book of Revelation, chapter 20 in the Christian Bible.

While the story of Caleb, Paul, Sal and Bert is purely fictional, the activities represented in Paul’s rise and fall as the Antichrist parallel biblical references found in the books of Daniel, Isaiah, Zechariah, Matthew, Mark, first and second Thessalonians, and Revelation.

Regardless of your beliefs, my hope is that you found the book to be an interesting and worthwhile read. If you’d like to learn more about autism or what the Bible has to say about the Antichrist and the end times, go to LawlessOne.com for additional resources and Bible references.

  Acknowledgements

This book has been on my bucket list for over ten years. On May 22, 2018 (My birthday no less!) I started the planning for The Lawless One and the End of Time. My aim was to write a fictional account of the rise and fall of the Antichrist while staying true to how he and the End Times are represented in the Bible. There were many people who helped bring this story to life. My deepest thanks to Joe Amato, Rick Blossom, Mike Burkhalter, David Gill, Susan Caldwell, Joel Wycoff, Holly Wycoff, Henderson Mar, Janis Mar, Amelie Oeschger, Pete Osman, Fred Gill, Bette Osman, Louis Pacelli, Phil Peterson, Ray Waldmann, Sharis Watson, Mary Waldmann, and Jim DuBois for their guidance, advice, and critical feedback. Special thanks to Dani Ley and the crew at Capital One Café in Bellevue, Washington where much of the writing was done. Also, thanks to Rachel Ronan with Kiwi Creative for the great work on the cover art. Special thanks and love to my daughter Briana Sanger who did a thorough review and helped with the medical sequences, my son Trevor Pacelli who provided expert advice on the autism sequences, and my wife Patty for the hours of editing and listening to me drone on and on about plot lines, time jumps, and characters.
