The Moon Shadow : The Wolfrik Trilogy | Book 1 Page 31

by K. Rea

“I’ll have to get used to that,” Aiden murmured and kissed and nipped at my neck. He placed me down on the bed and settled between my legs.

“Is this what you want?” Aiden asked as he froze, his hands intertwined with mine. He brought my left hand to his mouth and kissed the ring he had placed there.

  Mine, the wolf echoed with.

I pulled him down to me with a growl and captured his lips against mine. I nipped at his bottom lip and smiled.

“I want far more than a kiss. You’re mine,” I declared with a soft growl.

“Yours,” Aiden’s growl rumbled through the room, sending a shiver down my spine. My heart rejoiced.

Before the night was through, he loved me every which way. The first time I shattered in his arms, the bond snapped back into place with a fiery vengeance so strong we both partially shifted. The sheets were singed and torn around us. His wings erupted from his back, and my claws raked down his chest. The second time was a sweet melding of souls. The love I felt for Aiden reflected at me through the bond and in his eyes. After the last time, I slept soundly at peace for the first time in months in the arms of my mate.

  Special Thanks

I’ve carried this story with me for over a decade. A small tribe has helped me take it from scribbled pages in a notebook to a full-fledged novel. Your enthusiasm and support have surprised me time and time again.

First and foremost, Aaron, thank you for hanging in there through all the long nights, early alarms, and random questions. You’re the rock that keeps me grounded in a storm; I wouldn’t have it any other way.

To my parents, thank you for your support, advice and unfaltering belief in me. It has made a world of difference. I would not be who I am today without you.

To my editor, Jes – thank you this book would not be as polished without you! Thank you for being only a text away, ready to discuss the craft, and share all your wisdom. I’ve learned a lot and couldn’t have done it without you, thank you!

To my beta’s, your feedback along the way has been invaluable and helped to bring this book to life. Thank you!

To my cover designer, Danielle – this cover is stunning! Thank you for going above and beyond, for working with me on this project and willing to answer any questions; book or toddler related it didn’t matter. You’re amazing.

Thank you to my readers for helping to make this dream a reality. Seriously, if you’ve read this far, I do truly appreciate that you gave this book a chance. I fell in love with this story long ago, I look forward to hearing from you and sharing more about Evelyn, Aiden, and the Court of Shadows in the future.

Last but certainly not least, thank you Ellie, for being my shining star. You’ve flipped my world upside down so many times but I know one thing for sure - I love you.
