“I love you.”
The three small words that would change everything, transform Isaac into the all-powerful king, the ruler of her heart. They stared into each other’s eyes as those overused, undervalued words entered the universe and became new again.
She was unprepared for the violence of his reaction, the breath slamming out of her body as he threw her savagely onto her back. She stared up at him as he reared over her, the alpha male returned in full force.
Her king, her angel masquerading as a demon.
She relinquished her power and submitted to Isaac, surrendered body and soul. She adored his domination of her body, and no longer had to suppress her emotions and thoughts. Now she would only submit sexually, only in their blue room.
And in their bed…
Isaac had surrendered his control and trusted her absolutely. Their sexual connection would be enhanced by today’s shift of power. So much pleasure lay ahead of them, so much love. Now they were equal there was nothing to fear and the possibilities were infinite. Isaac would always be the conqueror of her heart and the master of her pleasure, and she would always be an eager slave to his desires. It was the way it was meant to be. But she would always be Talia, Lokian visionary, and Wanwisa, goddess of the sea.
Isaac’s eyes worshipped her as they devoured her body. She belonged to him and he was making damn sure she knew it. He thrust hard, claiming her without restraint, and she wrapped her legs around his waist, relishing the pleasure of submission. He loomed over her quivering body, as graceful as a stalking panther and just as mesmerising. She belonged to this king of predators, was his helpless, adored prey…
And he placed his lips against her ear…
“I love you.”
Their mouths met, her arms encircled him, and all reason was lost as they journeyed to the spirit realms while their bodies took their pleasure in the mortal world. Isaac thrust inside her without mercy, and she accepted his dominance as never before because now they were equal. This violent passion was the true consummation of their union, an eternal bond fulfilled. Isaac loved her. He had overcome his fear and they were united in their vision for their shared future. His words of love were precious but she knew him well. This brutal claiming of her body meant more. He was an intensely sexual man who demonstrated his eternal commitment with every demanding thrust into her body, taking her like a man possessed… by love. She gasped as she neared climax, her body responding to his passion as his manhood thickened inside of her. Isaac was on the brink, but he was waiting for her so they would climax together.
How stupid she had been. It had always been going to turn out this way. Isaac had always wanted them to climax together, share their pleasure as they would share their lives. His was a pure, unselfish love. She should have known from the start.
They cried out each other’s names as they climaxed, Isaac blessing her clenching sex with his royal seed. They merged into oneness, embracing each other in entirety, united, body and soul…
They lay silent for an eternity, Isaac’s strong body pressing her into the cold stone floor. She could stay like this forever, basking in the completeness of their love. His eyes did not stray from hers, each passing moment reinforcing the splendour of their shared spiritual energy. Blue. Like this room. The colour of spirituality, infinite possibilities and Isaac’s eyes. They stared and stared, watching their love grow and deepen in each other’s eyes, respecting no boundaries set by human hearts or minds. It was infinite, immeasurable. The wonder was only just beginning…
Everything had changed. And she was reluctant to break the silence for she was in no rush to discover their new connection through words. The absolute peace in her heart and the profundity of their shared emotion was enough. She needed nothing more.
She watched the dazed expression ebb away from Isaac’s eyes as they returned to reality to embrace their new life. Isaac had never been in love, had never relinquished his power to a woman… to anybody. He had been reborn in the blue room today.
He narrowed his eyes. She was watching him intently and he had noticed. Isaac missed nothing, he paid attention to her. He always had. He had always been her angel masquerading as a demon. His mouth curved upwards into a charming smile, with no hint of uneasiness. Isaac had already adjusted to his brave new life.
“Well, that was a surprise.”
“Surprise? Oh, Isaac, you have astounded me,” she whispered, rubbing her nose against his. She could not find words adequate for this moment.
He chuckled. “I have astounded myself! I don’t understand what just happened, Talia, but I’m so glad it did.”
He was at peace with his transformation, as confident as ever.
“So am I,” she whispered, tentatively entering into this most unlikely of conversations. This was new and fragile territory for Isaac, she didn’t want to interrogate him. He should feel free to disclose as little or as much as he desired.
“The moment I saw you, I knew the game was over, Talia. When our eyes met, I knew you were my destiny, but I didn’t know how to… be with you. I…” He sighed and shook his head. “What am I doing? Pinning you to the floor. I am hardly a romantic dream. Come, let’s make you comfortable.”
“I’m fine,” she grumbled, eager to carry on with the conversation. Isaac was finally being honest and she would endure any amount of physical discomfort for that.
“No, you’re not. If we’re going to talk, I don’t want you covered in bruises at the end of it.”
Her dominant king was back and it was wonderful. Without further complaint, she allowed him to scoop her up into his arms and carry her to the bed. He wrapped the thick blankets around them both and pulled her tightly against his chest.
“Are you cold, Wanwisa?”
“Never cold in your arms,” she murmured, nestling into him, relishing every moment of their reborn bond. Everything changed yet everything still the same… The tenderness and passion was as intense as ever but now they were equal. She could gaze unreservedly into his exquisite eyes and express her thoughts without hesitation for she no longer needed his permission.
“I wonder if that will ever happen again. I didn’t think I had a submissive bone in my body.” His voice was thoughtful, but he laughed easily, relaxed about this revelation. “All the battles I’ve fought, all the treaties I’ve negotiated, and yet it is one tiny Lokian visionary who brings me to my knees. There is a sublime beauty in that, a king humbled by true love.”
She wasn’t sure she liked that. She would never want to humble Isaac.
“I don’t want to control you, my love, not ever. I have only ever wanted your love and respect as you have always had mine.” She hesitated but then vowed to be honest always. Isaac’s courage had made this moment possible and she would honour him with her courage in return. “I… very much like… No… I love the way you make love to me. I love your dominant masculinity,” she whispered, peering up at him shyly. He chuckled and brushed his lips against the tip of her nose.
“So do I, Talia, so do I! And I love the way you challenge me. I know I need it.”
His eyes twinkled and she laughed, relishing his self-awareness and openness of expression. Nothing that had happened had affronted his masculinity; he was the supreme alpha, confident and assured, accepting and embracing change. The wonder of Isaac grew from moment to moment, and she was awestruck. This magnificent man belonged to her. He stroked her tangled hair away from her eyes and smiled.
“There is nothing more beautiful on this earth than the adoration in your eyes, Wanwisa. Thank you for loving me just as I am. I am glad you enjoy my dominant masculinity because that will never change.” He laughed again and she joined in, thrilled with this intimate exchange. “You were right about my game. Everything that happened between us in this room prior to today was originally devised as an elaborate game of pleasure, designed to find my soulmate. Over time I lost sight of my original intention for the game because I always won so easily. The women I played with
never challenged me, they always accepted my rules, my way of playing. They never revealed their personalities, never dared to play back and make their own rules for the game. I didn’t feel as if I was connecting with other beings with thoughts and emotions of their own. So I selfishly indulged my need for sexual dominance and enjoyed exploring my partners’ capacity for trust. It was a challenge, I simply enjoyed the erotic excitement of playing the game. With you, Wanwisa, it was different right from the start.”
She was enthralled. Isaac was a man transformed, exposing everything she had been desperate to discover. He had a compulsive need to confide and she was only too receptive. This was true intimacy.
“Different from the start?” she whispered, determined not to probe or demand answers. It was the way she wanted to go forwards with their life together, her vision for their future. Their relationship would be a blissful haven from the demands of the world, where they could share their innermost thoughts and emotions without feeling pressurised to do so. Blackmail and coercion would be words their relationship would never know. Love and love alone would motivate all that passed between them.
“Different from the start,” he repeated firmly, “because I knew you were my destiny. The game was simply the best way to create intimacy and trust, discover the very essence of your soul. I had to find a way of… reaching you.”
It would have been so much easier if he had simply talked to her. But she wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. Isaac was right about the game. It was emotionally revealing and required absolute trust… the basis of any lifelong commitment. The game was maddening, infuriating and unreasonable – just like its creator – but the game was profound. It provided limitless opportunities for forging an intimate bond – and plenty of indulgent erotic pleasure. That could not be overestimated…
“I have very much enjoyed playing your game, Your Majesty,” she murmured demurely. Isaac’s laughter boomed around the blue room.
“You have enjoyed it, my love? I seem to remember an irate Lokian visionary telling me she had had enough and wasn’t playing anymore.” He laughed again. “No one else would have dared! You are magnificent.”
“I didn’t think about what I was saying, Isaac, I was angry and determined to save our love. I simply did and said what I felt.”
“As did I.” He sighed and shook his head. “It was a spiritual compulsion coursing through my body, telling me to accept defeat to my little goddess of the sea.”
She shook her head as tears sprung to her eyes. “You did not lose, my love, you won. You were able to transform yourself for love and let go of everything you knew in order to embrace a new life. Very few men would be capable of such courage and strength of character. You have won, Your Majesty.”
He stared solemnly at her. “We have won, Talia, thanks to you. You led me to this point today, you refused to play anymore!” He laughed again. “Fuck, I loved that! When you said that I knew I would gladly kneel at your feet forevermore. No one has ever dared to say anything like that to me before.”
“I wasn’t brave, Your Majesty, I simply love you too much to allow you to destroy our relationship. I fought for us today and will do so every day of my life.”
“No more,” he whispered huskily, his voice cracking with emotion. “You will not need to fight anymore. I am yours, Talia, always yours and yours alone. You are my destiny, this blue room exists because of you.”
This was the moment she had been waiting for.
“Your Majesty?”
He smiled, his eyes searching hers, their intensity breathtaking. “Yes, Talia, the blue room exists because of you. It was waiting for you, just like me. But you knew that, didn’t you?”
“Blue is the colour of my soul,” she answered simply. “Symbolic of all that is pure and spiritual in this mortal world… and a bridge to the world beyond – the spirit realms.”
Isaac nodded as he brushed his fingertips against her cheek. “You have shown me the spiritual wonder of this world, Talia. My life was devoid of that before I met you.” He sighed, his eyes locked with hers, a fervent gleam within their sky blue depths. “A long time ago I dreamed the most vivid dream I have ever dreamed, a dream of blue, the perfect unsullied blue of a summer’s day sky.”
“And your eyes,” she whispered reverently. He smiled and brushed his lips over the top of her head.
“I had the dream many years ago, Talia, at the beginning of my reign, and it seemed to last for all eternity. I was bodiless, a pure spirit with no beginning and no end, and my soul was cocooned within the serene beauty of the colour blue. The dream infused my soul with great peace and contentment but also much yearning and frustration. I awoke desperate to find the beauty of the blue in my waking life but with no understanding of what it was or how to find it. I didn’t know what the blue meant for me. I was floundering, as ignorant as a child… I was lost. Blue became a symbol of infinite possibilities, represented a journey into the unknown I was desperate to take. After feeling such peace and joy for just a few fleeting moments, I was compelled to search for the rest of my life. Even in my ignorant state, I was certain the dream symbolised true love. A subconscious part of me must have yearned for it to even contemplate such a thing. Anyway, I was a fool. I had no idea how to fulfil the promise of my dream – for the first time in my life I could not control events. So I did the first thing that sprang into my mind. I created this room for my unknown love and devised the game. I searched for that love for many long, disappointing years and almost gave up. I questioned my sanity and my intellect, for surely I must have interpreted the dream incorrectly? Its peace and love were not meant for me. The dream was merely a terrible torment designed to punish me for my many sins, an illusion of a life I could not have. It gave me a glimpse of paradise before cruelly returning me to my mortal life forevermore. The dream became a nightmare, a constant, nagging taunt of what was possible but not for me. I was condemned to live my life as I always had, the all-powerful king, worshipped by men, adored by women, emptiness deep within my soul. And then…” Isaac’s eyes flooded with the spectacular something and she caught her breath. Isaac was allowing his spirituality to manifest unchecked, and it was awe-inspiring. He was a man of spiritual depth and feeling, and all because… “I met you, and I took that journey into the unknown at long last, discovered infinite possibilities with you. My Talia, my Wanwisa, my destiny, it was always you, only ever you.”
“Only ever you… in the blue room… it all makes sense now.”
Her eyes brimmed with ecstatic tears. Isaac’s latent spirituality had brought them to this magical place. He had created the blue room and waited patiently for her arrival. And now here they were.
“I have always been driven by my sexuality. The game was the only way I knew to communicate with you and uncover your secrets, become close to you so we could fulfil our destiny. Love was unknown to me, the game was all I knew,” he repeated softly, a dazed expression in his eyes.
“You have blessed us with eternal peace,” she whispered. “It is all we need to be content in this mortal world… peace of mind, peace of spirit… and we have found it together. You are my angel, Isaac, my angel masquerading as a demon.”
“What?”
He was laughing at her, his eyes bemused. There were no barriers between them any longer, she could speak and behave as she pleased. Which was not always a good thing… Her cheeks grew hot as she explained her ridiculous words.
“I always knew you were an angel, not a demon. I knew you were good even though our situation should have told me otherwise. You were my master and my captor, but I recognised your spiritual quest. I knew this blue room couldn’t be an accident. Lokians do not believe in coincidence, Isaac, I knew this room was my destiny right from the start. It was always meant for me and it soon became our sacred room.”
“Room of infinite possibilities and love.”
“Yes, my love. Only ever you, Isaac, only ever you.”
“Only ever you, Talia, only eve
r you in the blue room.”
Resolution
She was wearing the respectable muslin gown but she looked indecent. It was obvious what she and Isaac had been doing, but there was no one to witness their shameless post-coital glows as they walked hand in hand to the bedroom. No one to see her flushed cheeks, sparkling eyes and dishevelled hair, the unmistakable sight of a sexually satiated woman. She caught a glimpse of herself in the long mirror outside the blue room and had a narcissistic compulsion to stop and stare. She had been permanently eroticised over the last few days but now this hedonistic state was tempered by something profound.
Peace.
Her eyes held all the peace and contentment of Isaac’s dream, his vision of their blue room…
She felt sorry for Isaac’s servants. He had hidden them away yet again, this area of the palace forbidden until he decreed it otherwise. This was their home, they must resent her presence and its impact on their lives. Isaac had ensured she saw no one since her arrival… But now? What happened now?
As they entered the bedroom, Isaac brushed his lips tenderly against her forehead, still damp from excitement and pleasure.
“I must leave you for a while, Wanwisa. I won’t be long, I promise.”
She scowled, unable to restrain her reaction. “Now? You’re leaving me now?”
After everything that had just passed between them? She wanted to say so very much more, behave like the women she disapproved of, forever berating their men about some tiny, imagined slight. She wanted to ask him that all-important question constantly nagging at her mind. Will you ever take me with you, Isaac, allow me to be part of your real life? But she did not want to be one of those women so she kept her mouth firmly closed. She stared into his eyes, begging him to answer her unspoken question, but he shook his head.
“Please, Talia, not now, my sweet, just a little more patience, please?”
