Razor (Twisted Devils MC Book 1) Page 20

by Zahra Girard

I’m happy. Happy, working a job that brings me fulfillment, and I have so many people to share my life with.

Dressed in my street clothes, I pull my bike helmet and my leather jacket from my locker and head out to meet my man.

When I step out into the parking lot, with my helmet in one hand and my leather jacket in the other, Razor’s there waiting for me. He’s leaning back against his bike, and his face lights up as he sees me.

I am so lucky to have him.

His Harley is parked right next to mine — an impulse purchase I picked up a couple weeks ago. The ink’s hardly dried on my motorcycle endorsement and I still suck at riding, but I’m getting better every day. And I have an incredibly hot — and patient — teacher.

“You ready to ride, babe?” Razor says. “I think we should check out some of the mountain roads today. Work on cornering. You up for that?”

I throw on my jacket, put my helmet over my head, and toss a leg over my bike. Thunder rumbles between my legs when I fire it to life; I’m starting to get the appeal of these crazy machines.

  “Yeah, I’m ready.”

I smile at him even though I’m wearing my helmet and he can’t see a damn thing through my face guard. This man’s brought so much into my life — I wouldn’t have survived the nightmare with the Makris brothers and I wouldn’t be here working my dream job if it wasn’t for him.

“It’s beautiful out today. How about we stop at the lake cabin after the ride. We could have a swim, kick back a few beers.”

  “That sounds perfect.”

  “Then follow me, love.”

I reach out, put my hand on his arm.

“I’m never letting you go, you know that?” I say.

“And I’m never going to give you a reason to.”

Moving ahead, he beckons for me to follow and his bike roars like an animal as he cranks the accelerator and tears out of the parking lot. I follow, though I’m slower at first. I’m still learning, but getting better by the day, thanks to him.

I’ve seen a lot of change and loss in these last couple months, but one thing’s for certain: I love this man. And I am sure as hell never losing him.
