After Demitrey and Adelina made sure they were all settled, Demitrey said "Hey wanna go for a run in the forest?" Then he added a suggestive wink and smirk.
Adelina smiled at his offer and said "sure, but we're gonna need a change of clothes."
After they made trip back for the castle, and packed a fresh set of clothes, Demitrey and Adelina headed hand in hand to the forest.
The second they were safe away from the pack and the castle, they transformed into their wolves, who in turn were ecstatic to come out and play.
They chased each other, rolled around with one another. At some point Trey pins Aden down in she whimpers, then licked his cheek.
The action caught Trey off guard and Aden pushed him off her, he realized her game, and went to chase after her.
She stopped him in his tracks when Aden lifted her tail to tease Trey.
The second she did so Adelina gasped.
Her wolf was such a...
"Ugh Aden can you please stop acting like a hoe." Commented Adelina in Aden's head.
"Do I ever comment when you're going down on Demitrey or getting freaky in the shower?" Was Aden's smart reply, as she wagged her tail at an antsy Trey.
"Touché." Replied Adelina, then left her wolf to enjoy herself.
Aden deserved it.
Turns out Trey was just as freaky as Aden.
Trey played along with Aden's teasing, and swiped his nose under her tale, and Demitrey found himself commenting "geez Trey, can you not be such a dog."
"Says the one who gladly had his head tucked in between her legs." Was how Trey replied, before he went back to playing with Aden.
Demitrey sealed his lips and let the mates have fun.
Trey was right, he was a freak himself.
Trey once again tackles Aden to the ground and nipped at her ear.
She extends her claws and softly scratched at Trey's fur causing him to growl then lick her nose.
The wolves played around with each other for hours, constantly teasing each other, at times nipping at each other, and satisfying one another's needs.
After a long day, the wolves walked side by side to the cliff, where they snuggled against each other and watched the sunset together.
It was a beautiful picture.
But as it became dark, the wolves gave over to their humans.
Trey looked at Aden, then licked her cheek, and she nuzzled her nose against his neck, and then they transformed back into their humans, and soon Adelina and Demitrey were back, they dressed, and started making their way back to the castle.
"That was fun. I'm glad that they got the chance to be together today." Said Demitrey.
"Yeah, they deserved it. It was long overdue." Replied Adelina, then a silence fell over them.
They were both caught up in their minds, wondering where they stood.
Adelina wanted to ask him what would happen from here, especially now that the threats were gone, and throughout everything she became Luna of his pack.
But there we so many things left unsaid that she wasn't sure what to make of them.
Demitrey on the other hand was wondering whether she would leave. He had come to terms with the fact that if she wanted to leave, he would let her go.
They were both constantly walking on eggshells around each other, not too sure of what would happen next.
But Demitrey didn't want to wonder any longer. He wanted everything to be out in the clear.
Her wanted to talk to her and see where they stood.
So that's exactly what he did.
*Adelina's pnt. Of view*
"I know we've been through a lot, and I'm sorry if this comes off in the wrong way, but I just want to know... what are we?" Asked Demitrey as we walked hand in hand back to the castle, after Trey and Aden's "play time."
What are we?
That was exactly I was thinking.
My journey with this man has been one heck of a story, and when I thought it would be the end, it was only the beginning.
After Darrell died, my old self probably would've packed up and left, but I stayed.
My family was here. My future was here.
Yes, looking at the past makes me cringe and cry inside. Looking at the past makes me think of just what a monster someone can be. But, if I live in the past, I'll never see my future.
It was honestly time to move on.
Aden deserves it. Trey deserves it. Demitrey deserves it. The pack, who is now my responsibility, deserves it, and most importantly, I, deserve it.
I know what I want.
This is what I want.
I stopped in my tracks, and turned him to look at me, I looked deep into his eyes then kissed him softly on the lips "we are together. I have you, and you have me. You're my best friend as I am yours. We will have each other's back through thick and thin. I will support you and all that you do, and I'm not afraid to close my eyes because I know and trust that you will guide me. I love you." I confessed, staring deep into his eyes.
"I love you." He declared, then we confirmed our feelings in a loving embrace, while our lips met halfway.
He was my alpha, and I was his Luna, who knew that this is how it would turn out?
"I did." Said Selene's voice in my head, and I chuckled out loud, Demitrey smiled and said "what?"
And I shook my head and said " nothing. Everything is just perfect."
Chapter 34- “One of Our Own”
*Third Person's pnt. Of view*
Life after that was pretty much easier.
Demitrey asked Adelina on a date, in which they spent hours talking while walking and at times sitting on the beach.
Demitrey told her of all his adventures growing up, and Adelina finally opened about what took place in her pack when she was growing up.
Some tears were shed, along with exchanged laughter.
That day, the young couple finally destroyed the heavy walls that guarded their hearts, and finally allowed the other in.
Their wolves were beaming with happiness that their humans were finally happy together, and Selene smiled down at the young leaders.
Demitrey and Adelina learned that opening up to each other helped them to trust one another and fall deeper in love every day.
Aunty Diana retired, and the clinic became under Adelina's supervision.
Adelina fit in with the pack so well, they became her family.
Demitrey became the mate she always dreamed of, he never failed to show how much he loves and cares for her, and she tried to be the best Luna and mate she could be.
Adelina became Demitrey's rock, she was his everything. He consulted with her on every decision, and he made sure to never keep anything from her, unless it was a surprise.
Aden and Trey continuously had playtime, as well as Demitrey and Adelina.
James and Anila were happily working things out, and the new members of the pack fit in well with everyone else.
Kade and Cilia were counting the months and days before they welcomed their offspring into the world.
Everything was perfect.
A few months later, everything became even better.
Adelina sat frozen as her eyes stared in disbelief at the object she currently held in her hands.
She wasn't sure how to feel about this, and she sure as heck wasn't sure how she was going tell Demitrey.
She smiled in absolute wonder.
But her happiness was short lived for Cilia's voice rang through her head "Adelina! I'm having contractions and my water broke! The baby's coming!"
The second Cilia's voice rang through her ears, Adelina grabbed her bag, sliding everything she would need in there, and made sure her surprise was tucked in her purse, then she made her way to the clinic.
As she got there, the pack doctor and the nurses already had Cilia ready to go.
She was squeezing the life out of Kade's hand, while Anila tried her best to keep her calm with the breathing exercises.
Cilia was strong enough
to go through the natural birth process, and Cilia and Kade welcomed a handsome baby boy into the world.
While Cilia held her baby, and everyone surrounded her, Demitrey snaked his arms around Adelina, and kissed her cheek as he said softly "What do you think if we try for one of our own?"
The surprise that crossed Adelina's face was unmistakable.
She felt her face heat up, as her lips parted, and her cheeks brightened with a smile.
"We don't have to try anymore." Replied Adelina, her cheeks burning, as she pulled out the pregnancy test from her purse and handing it to Demitrey.
His eyes were as wide as saucers, and Adelina wasn't sure whether that was a good sign or not.
Maybe it was too soon?
Then, he broke into a large smile, picked her up, spun her around, and kissed her lovingly, then he looked into her eyes as he said "thank you. I love you."
Cilia, Kade, James, Anila and Aunty D beamed at the couple.
"Congrats man! We're both gonna be dads!" Said Kade to Demitrey, as they shared a man hug.
"Yeah, I thought you left me behind for a second there bro." Replied Demitrey, as he chuckled.
"Nah, never. We're in this together." Replied Kade as he moved over and kissed Cilia and their son Joseph on the head.
"Yeah, together." Confirmed Demitrey as he pulled Adelina in for a loving kiss.
Chapter 35- “Kade and Darrell”
* Third person's pnt of view*
Nine months later, Adelina and Demitrey welcomed their daughter, Anna-Marie, into the world.
"It's a girl!" Announced aunty D, and the cheers of the pack could be heard all around the castle.
Demitrey looked down at his wife and baby, as he kissed her on her lips and whispered "thank you. I love you so much."
Adelina chuckled and said, "yeah you better." Then she added, "I love you too."
Then Adelina looked down at her baby as she said "You are going to make a great Luna, and you don't need an alpha to ordain you as such. You're already a queen."
"Yeah, and daddy is not going to let any man come and take away your crown. I'll scare them all off." He said, kissing his daughter's head. Earning a laugh from Adelina.
A few months later, the pack celebrated a year where their Luna had defeated a threat that was set on wiping out their pack.
As the people danced and celebrated, Adelina and Kade where having a conversation when Adelina asked, "So you never told me, what exactly happened between you and Darrell?"
Kade sighed and said "Well, when Demitrey met me, there's a secret I've kept from him since that day. His brother was sent to my pack at the age of five, after Aunty D gave birth to him, but Darrell never felt welcomed, he would always sneak off and visit his father, but they made sure that he stayed away from Demitrey. Darrell arranged with his father to have my pack attacked, so that could give him an excuse to join his father's pack. Everything went according to plan, except before Darrell could be found, I was found." Explained Kade.
"Demitrey and I instantly bonded, we did everything together, while Darrell remained in the shadows of the forest, watching us and becoming bitter than ever. Whenever we were going somewhere, I made sure to always be a few inches behind Demitrey, watching his back. The day that they claimed I stole from the pack was also Darrell's doing. I saw Darrell watch as Demitrey took a beating for me. And though I threw myself on Demitrey to protect him, I did also as proof to Darrell that Demitrey and I were also family. Brothers. I called him brother loud enough for Demitrey to hear, but I also knew that Darrell listened on the conversation, because before I also blinked out, I saw the anger and hatred in his eyes, and I couldn't have been a prouder person and beta at that moment." Smiled Kade.
"I've kept this secret from my best friend, and unless he asks, I think that's a rock better left untouched." Said Kade as he looked on at his alpha and best friend playing with some of the children.
"Well as your Luna, and as your friend and sister, I thank you. Because had you not been there, I probably wouldn't be where I am today." Smiled Adelina as she kissed Kade on the cheek.
"Adelina you have to see this!" Said Cilia as she grabbed her and ran her to the portable play area where both Joseph and Anna-Marie were.
When they arrived, both children were laying down, asleep, but their fingers were intertwined.
Adelina smiled and looked at Cilia as she said, "You don't think...?"
"Does this mean?" Added Cilia.
"I think it might..." finished Anila, as the ladies looked among themselves then laughed as they walked away.
"What?" Asked Demitrey.
"What does it mean?" Yelled Kade after the sauntering girls.
"It’s probably a secret girl joke that they share." Finished Kade, and the men all shrugged simultaneously, and laughed.
Selene looked on proudly at the young family, that was brought together by heartbreak, pain, hurt, and loss.
Yet somehow throughout all that, they found each other.
It was a good season.
Then she also looked down at the two children who held hands, and she waved a hand above them, as an invisible knot tied around their wrist, binding them together.
A future power couple thought Selene as she smiled.
Yes, it really was a good season.
Their family thrived for years to come, and as cliché as it may sound, they lived happily ever after.
