Twins for Brother's Best Friend Page 22

by Sofia T Summers

“Of course,” he said with a nod, put the bottle down on the table beside me and walked to Ryan’s crib. “Hey, buddy. Daddy’s here. Don’t sweat it.”

The sight of Isaac holding our son in his arms put a smile on my face. I was the luckiest woman in the entire world. Not only did I have the sexiest husband in the city, but he was also an amazing father to our babies. I had everything I had ever wanted in life.

Two months after he had proposed to me on my parents’ couch, Isaac and I were married in an intimate ceremony that was held in the backyard of my parents’ house. This was where I’d met him for the first time, when I was six years old. Back then, if I’d known that I’d marry him eleven years later, I would have been the happiest person in the world.

A month after the wedding, the twins were born. The whole experience of my water breaking and the contractions was scary as hell. A week before the due date, little Ryan decided that it was time to evacuate. Luckily, Isaac was by my side at the time, which made the whole experience less scary. Throughout the contractions and the labor pains, he kept me calm. For that, I felt truly blessed and lucky, and loved him so much more. He knew how to calm me down, how to stop me from freaking out, and support me through everything. And now, as I watched him feed Ryan, I couldn’t help but be filled with love for my amazing husband.

Soon after the wedding, Isaac and Garrett finalized the purchase of my firm, GrayBit Developers, and ensured that my employees were seamlessly integrated into Destiny Development’s new programming wing, GG Programming. Mad, Cassie, and my other amazing programmers were offered a signing bonus and a significant bump in wages. GG Programming moved into the floor above Isaac’s. The whole floor could be accessed by only my employees, as well as Isaac and I, because I wanted to keep the operations separate from Destiny’s primary real estate business.

They were all really happy and I visited Mad and the others every opportunity I had. Their future was secure with Destiny Developments, which was all I had ever wished for. The financial boost in GrayBit’s arm also boosted their morale, as all six of them did amazing work, continuing to design new and better programs, maintain and reprogram our primary codes, and debug the software to ensure the highest degree of quality. They loved their new office space as well, and it more than doubled their productivity.

Isaac was very impressed with all of them, giving them the highest praise at the company’s monthly meetings. Soon enough, they signed on more than ten large companies, one of them belonging to Frederick Wallace – the businessman we’d met at the Seattle conference. So, in the short duration since the merge, GG Programming nearly tripled the annual revenues of Destiny Developments!

At first, the Board of Directors was unsure of these changes. However, as Isaac had complied with all the caveats of his uncle’s will, they had no option but to agree to these changes. In the end, the merger’s success proved that he was an amazing businessman with impeccable work ethics, which was why his employees adored him and enjoyed working with him.

Though Isaac had given me the choice to buy back my company, it was not what I wanted. It was now a part of Destiny Developments, and they were thriving like never before. I did not wish to disrupt the success and decided to invest in the company, instead. There were new opportunities to explore as well. Isaac was considering opening branches on the East Coast – maybe even abroad. The possibilities were endless and I was incredibly proud of him. Along with his best friend and my brother, Garrett and Isaac were a powerhouse duo and got any job done quickly, efficiently, and most importantly, with integrity.

My phone vibrated in my pocket, jolting me from the calm of the rocking chair. I had forgotten it was in my sweatpants’ pocket and I quickly dug it out.

  “Hey, Mad.”

“Hey, Greta! Sorry to call. I know two thirty is feeding time,” Mad said apologetically.

“It’s okay,” I said and smiled down at Emma, who was staring at me with bright eyes. “What’s up?”

“Well, I’ve got good news and I’ve got great news.”

“Okay. Tell me the good news first.”

“Cassie and I just finished debugging the new code you sent us last week.”

  “That was fast.”

While I was at home with the twins for the past few months, I had spent a couple of hours a day working on a new program that I’d wanted to design ever since I started GrayBit. But with the challenges of running a business, I never really got a chance to get the code started. When the twins and Isaac weren’t keeping me busy, I was able to work a bit. I wrote the code after putting the twins to sleep, or when Garrett and Mad would come over to play with them.

Not to sound presumptuous, but it seemed that there was something brewing between those two. It was both sweet and odd. Garrett was a typical lawyer, always dressed in a sharp suit, with perfectly styled and clean-cut hair. On the other hand, Mad had numerous tattoos, piercings, and rode a big black motorcycle. They were an unlikely couple, but were always cute around each other.

Not to mention how amazing both of them were with the twins! The twins also immensely adored their Uncle Garrett and Aunt Mad.

“Yeah, we were quite surprised too. But luckily, we know your methods of working, so it was quite straightforward,” she told me.

“Well, that’s good to hear. I figured, less is more, you know. It’s not a complicated program to set up, it does everything with the click of a button. Calibration, integration, and optimization. I just hope it works this time. I’ve been struggling with syncing the two parts. It took me almost a month to figure out the configuration,” I said and looked at Isaac, who had Ryan over his shoulder, patting his little back lightly while whispering a lullaby to him.

“You don’t have to tell me that,” Mad said. “Which brings me to the great news.”

I raised my eyebrow though I knew Mad couldn’t see me. “Tell me.”

“Cassie and I installed it on the main server and did a full experimental run.”

“And?” I asked with bated breath.

“So far so good,” she answered, joy and excitement in her voice. “We’re running it as we speak. We added the contact lists and files from the archives, just to make sure that it can handle a multilevel company structure, and it’s going well. No bugs or system errors and it’s running at optimal speed.”

“And does it affect the speed of the servers at all? After adding all the files?”

“Not in the least. It’s fast, doesn’t bug out, and it only takes up fifteen gigs of space.”

“Only fifteen? I was expecting it to be a lot more.”

“So was I, but your compression algorithm is remarkable.”

I let out a slow, relieved breath and rested back on the rocking chair. “I’m so glad to hear that.”

“It gets better,” she said. “Amanda said that a few companies want to beta test the program. They’re really keen to purchase the full suite and any add-ons we will develop in the next few months.”

“But we haven’t planned any add-ons yet.”

“I will email you the list of suggestions. Amanda did a bit of research, and as we have a more-than-adequate budget to work with now, we can expand rapidly.”

  “That sounds great.”

“Sound a little more enthused, Greta” Mad said with exasperation. “This is going to be fucking huge! If everything runs smoothly, this could be the best thing since leather boots. It’s going to blow up and then, you’ll make even more money than Isaac.”

“I’m sure he’ll like that,” I chuckled softly and glanced at Isaac, who was looking at me curiously. “Awesome, Mad. I really am excited. Thanks for the update. Let me know when the test is done.”

  “On it, boss.”

“I’m not your boss,” I corrected her.

“Whatever! You’ll always be my boss. I’ll call you soon.”

“Thanks, Mad,” I disconnected and planted a kiss on Emma’s cheek.

“Good news, huh?” Isaac asked. />
“You have no idea!” I answered. “Mad and Cassie reviewed my code for the new program and everything has been going great. They’re already running the capacity test, loading archive files on the system to see how it fares. No problems yet.”

“That doesn’t surprise me,” he shrugged.

  “And why is that?”

“You’re a fantastic coder, so I didn’t expect it to be anything less than amazing.”

I smiled and looked at Isaac with pride and love. “And Amanda contacted a few companies that want to beta test the program. They are definitely interested in buying the suite after testing is successfully completed. She says that with our current resources to promote and market our suite properly, this could be huge for us. Mad thinks that I may even end up earning more than you do.”

“It’s about time,” Isaac scoffed. “I’ve been thinking of retiring and living off of your wealth.”

I narrowed my eyes. “You’re going to have to work for it.”

“I already do,” he joked as he came closer and kissed me.

“Everyone decent?” a voice shouted from downstairs.

“We’re up here,” Isaac called out. Footsteps ran up the stairs.

Dressed in his usual formal attire, Garrett appeared in the doorway with a smile. “Sorry to intrude on your family meeting,” he said. “I have some news.”

“You’re not intruding, we were just talking about how your sister’s new program is going to make her a billionaire.”

“Mad might be exaggerating a bit, but there is a lot of potential,” I said, standing up from the chair.

“Mad knows her stuff. So, if she says so, then it must be true,” Garrett pointed out.

I suppressed a smile and glanced at Isaac, who had a knowing smile on his face.

“What’s your news?” I turned and asked Garrett.

“Well, after you were able to negotiate the last deal with Andrew’s venture capital firm, keeping everything quiet, so that he didn’t find out about it, you now own all the shares and stocks for Destiny Developments. Officially,” Garrett told Isaac.

“Are you serious? The deal went through?” Isaac asked, his green eyes sparkling with excitement.

“Yes, I received confirmation a little while ago. I came as soon as I could,” Garrett said with a large smile. “You are now irrevocably, and legally, the sole owner of the company, Isaac Marcus. Of course, the Board will still be around, but only in an advisory role. You don’t have to get their approval for any decisions. Anyway, they trust you and know that you’re a great businessman.”

I smiled happily and Garrett took Emma from me. Walking up to Isaac, I wrapped my arms around him. “That is the best news.”

“Even better than yours?” Isaac asked me.

  “It’s a tie,” I chuckled.

“So, I can finally kick Andrew out of the building?” Isaac asked Garrett.

“Well, I negotiated the final contract with Andrew’s firm and may have told them about his underhanded behavior, like hiding the will and blaming it on a clerical error or misfiling, and the whole Amber incident. His call history showed that he was in contact with her multiple times and transferred funds to her account. Somehow, all this proof landed up on the desk of Andrew’s superior,” Garrett winked. “If it goes as planned – for us, I mean – Andrew won’t have a job soon. Then, you’ll be able to gladly have him escorted out of the building.”

“Oh my God!” Isaac laughed triumphantly. “How can I ever thank you?”

“Andrew had a pretty sweet parking spot….”

“It’s yours,” Isaac said without hesitation. “It’s about time Andrew gets what was coming to him. I’ll personally escort him out of the building!”

I frowned at Isaac and Garrett. “You sure are pleased with yourself right now.”

“He tried to break us up, so yeah. Can’t I just relish this for a second?”

“One second and be done with it. We have more important things to think of,” I told him, giving him a congratulatory kiss.

“Okay, that’s enough. Not in front of the kids,” Garrett protested and covered Emma’s eyes.

I laughed and shook my head at Garrett. “Like you and Mad are angels.”

“A gentleman doesn’t kiss and tell,” Garrett smiled mischievously.

I laughed again and glanced at Isaac, who had a satisfied and content expression on his face. It had been a tough two years for him with the company, but now everything was falling into place. Not just for Isaac, but for me as well. The future held some amazing promises and opportunities for us.

I felt my heart fill up with a lightness and found myself squeezing Isaac’s hand. He smiled at me and kissed the top of my head, as I rested it on his shoulder. I drew in a slow and deep breath, feeling the happiest I’d ever been in life.

Watching Garrett cooing at Emma, while Ryan drooled sleepily on Isaac’s shoulder, I realized that things were perfect now. I had everything I had ever wanted and more.

Baby for Brother’s Best Friend (Sample)

  Description

I felt like my life was slipping out of my hands when I made the mistake of sleeping with my brother’s best friend.

  Can you blame me?

  I’m divorced and alone.

And I dream of having a family.

  A baby.

So I went to the only person who I thought could help me.

  My fertility doctor.

Who, in fact, is my younger brother’s best friend.

The age gap should’ve been enough for me to keep a distance.

  But my heart didn’t listen.

Playing by the rules had never gotten me anywhere.

So I wanted the forbidden fruit this time.

I wanted his strong arms to hold me tight.

And his gorgeous eyes to look into mine.

  I knew what was coming.

It was the one thing I didn’t want.

  Love.

  Prologue

  Lyssa

As our bodies writhed and tangled together, I was seized with such an intense feeling, such an overwhelming passionate lust, that I could hardly breathe. Dan’s skin, slick against mine, pushed me harder and harder against the dark wood of his desk. I panted and moaned, arching my back and pushing my round hips against his body, eager for more.

“You like that, baby?” Dan growled in my ear. His hot mouth found my earlobe and his lips and tongue teased me before he began to suck and lick at the sensitive place. Intense, amazing sensations raced up and down my spine, thrilling and chilling me, and I moaned again as my whole body began to shake and quiver.

It had never been like this. Never. Dan wasn’t my first or my only, but being locked in his arms in a passionate embrace made me feel like we were the last two people on earth. Like we had made it through the apocalypse together, like we were the sole survivors.

Like we were more than just that.

Like we were soulmates, I thought as Dan slipped his fingers into my body once again. He was behind me, holding me tightly. My skirt was bunched around my waist and my pantyhose and underwear had been yanked down, exposing my ass and my pussy for the whole world to see – if the whole world could look into the windows of Dan’s thirty-third floor office, that is. My tits strained at my blouse and I gasped as Dan reached a hand around my body and fumbled with the buttons, pulling the material open. My tits popped out and I moaned as Dan’s hand began stroking my hard nipples, then pulling and pinching them until I squealed with delight. He knew just how to touch me, knew just how to paw me.

Knew just how to drive me mad with lust – and I was loving every single second of it.

“Fuck,” Dan groaned. He pushed his body against mine and I felt his stiff manhood poking against my bare a
ss through the material of his trousers. He took his hand away from my nipples and I sucked in a mouthful of air, frustrated that he’d stopped his delicious ministrations to my waiting body. I wanted him so much that I felt like I would explode if he didn’t finish me off.

“I want you,” I purred as I closed my eyes and thrust my hips backwards. I didn’t care how I looked – didn’t care that my clothes were twisted and bunched, didn’t care that I was writhing like a total slut. I wanted Dan so much, wanted him so bad that he was all I could think about. His strong, capable hands touching my body and bringing me to the verge of a powerful climax. His cock, which felt huge, plunging inside of me and filling me with the most ecstatic sensations imaginable. In that moment, I didn’t care about anything rational. Didn’t care about rhyme or reason.

And definitely didn’t care that we were in the middle of his Manhattan office, fooling around like horny teenagers.

Dan’s hot breath against my neck made me shiver and I turned to face him, kissing him deeply and savoring the rich scent of his cologne as it invaded my senses. He put his strong hands on my face and held me close, then moved his hands down my body and cupped my tits. Pulling away from me, he gave me a devilish grin.

“Please,” I begged softly. “I want you so much – I can’t take it anymore!”

Dan leaned in and kissed me again. He sucked on my lower lip and moved his hands down my body, stroking the damp curls of my pubic hair before teasing the soft skin of my inner thighs and rubbing my pussy lips. It felt so good, so teasing, that I nearly howled with delight when he slid a finger inside of me and began to circle my hard clit with his thumb. I knew that he was getting off on prolonging the moment when our two bodies would finally become one, but I couldn’t handle it anymore and with a frustrated gasp, I reached for his pants and fumbled with his belt. Dan groaned as I slid my hand inside his fly and touched his massive cock for the first time – I nearly gasped when I realized he was so big, so huge that I could barely fit my grip around his shaft.
