“What’s up, J?”
“We just passed the guard shack.”
“Damn. Okay.”
“You don’t want your little girls, man?” Jeremiah chuckled.
“Yeah, I want them. I’ll see y’all in a minute.”
Gypsie’s eyes popped wide open when Josiah hung up the phone.
“I thought you were asleep.”
“I was, but now I’m up. Gem and Treasure need to take baths and prepare for school tomorrow.”
Josiah sat up and threw his legs over the side of Gypsie’s bed. “Let me take care of the girls, baby. You need your rest for round two in my bed later tonight.” He kissed her forehead. “Go back to sleep. I’ll see you later.”
“What about the conversation with the girls?”
“We can do it tomorrow, next week, or next year. It doesn’t matter because you and I are in this forever. Okay?”
“Okay.”
