I hadn't thought too much about the future.

"Are we rushing things?" This had all happened at a whirlwind pace. There should be some in-between time, not just going from being alone to being together every single moment.

"We're not rushing enough." Ethan curled a lock of my hair around his finger. "Every minute of my life before I met you was a waste." His lips teased my neck. "The future is ours."

"What if we're made a mistake... what if..."

His finger pressed against my lips, silencing me.

"We'll make it work, Soph. The two of us, together, we can make it work. Even if things aren't perfect, we're got each other. And now I have two days off work so I think the best thing we can possibly do is get naked and get in the shower, then get in that king-sized bed then maybe the sofa."

I grinned. He was right. We could make it together. And maybe one day we'd buy a house and settle down and have some kids, but right now, this was Ethan's life. Not cluttered up with the past or with convention. Maybe I should try it.

"Have I told you I love you?" Ethan asked.

  "Not today."

"Damn. I'm a bad man." Ethan's eyes sparkled.

I wrapped my arms around his neck. "You're the worst." I grinned. "You are totally the worst."

CANDY J. STARR USED to be a band manager until she realised that the band she managed was so lacking in charisma that they actually sucked the charisma out of any room they played. "Screw you," she said, leaving them to wallow in obscurity - totally forgetting that they owed her big bucks for video equipment hire.

Candy has filmed and interviewed some big names in the rock business, and a lot of small ones. She's seen the dirty little secrets that go on in the back rooms of band venues. She's seen the ugly side of rock and the very pretty one.

But, of course, everything she writes is fiction.
